Narellan trying to beat their own record for total suspensions in one season? Fraser would be happy about that, absolutely do-do himself coming up against Manu. Not sure how the two City boys end up at the Jets after being king hit by the Graham's though. Gee whiz 2 coaches and its early Feb. who to next?
narellan's first grade squad is as strong as it's ever been. Reserve grade squad also very strong and 3rd grade have kept the same squad not sure where the struggling for numbers come from? their pack will be the most aggressive in the comp throw in manu with the likes of frazer,Corey shields and co
Jets will be very strong there signings are fact very good forwards ... Didn't the clarke fella from picton go to jet aswell or was that rumour false ?
yes Clarke as well as a few front rowers from 2012. then add in pakki and Merritt.. Narellan are in a good spot as far as playing talent just short of a coach
Seems like a lot of blokes out on the Titanic deck with buckets on here tonight. I don't know too many players that hang around after going through 3 coaches in 6 months. A lot can change between now and Tuesday let alone Round 1. Jets in trouble has to be the conclusion you draw from this.
No trouble in Jets town. All the players are solid so nice attempt Taco in trying to de-stabilise the club. Worry about your own club who surely has its own pressures eh? :finger:
I just love Mexican food and Rugby League Jetter no agendas here. I don't understand how a player could watch three coaches roll out the door in 6 months and things be okay. Well I do, but the only conclusion is they don't care who coaches as long as cheques are paid and I'm not sure that's the best culture for on field success? I'm not saying you are in trouble, just that I don't understand how you couldn't be? Either way I don't think even you will know for a couple of weeks at least.

Any coaches lined up to fill the void yet?

Narellan back to 04...
'04 Jets ..... what a team! Hammo, Wilko, Adam McCallum, Doyle, Jones, Trimarchi, Bucko , Moses, big Alby (RIP), Inoke, Bounce, Valentine, Hodge, Kaufana, Attard, and Marino.

Reserve grade also won and u18s lost the GF to Picton, who had a young Beau Scott on the wing from memory :drink:
I thought Jets won all 3 grades in 2004.

Jets were looking good in 2005 until a capitulation at the back end of the season going out in the semis with a 66 - 6 loss to Picton at Narellan Sportsground. Reserve grade went back to back in 2005 with 18's losing in the 2005 GF.
I THINK YOUR RIGHT.I MAY HAVE MY YEARS MIXED UP.
No I had a year mixed up. Jets made grand final in all grades 2004, won Firsts & Reserves lost 18's to Picton, then in 2005 Reserves (undefeated) & 18's won the Grand Final. Firsts out in the semis.
Yo got it right except 04 reserves were undefeated in 05 we lost 2 games to camden then went on to beat them in the gf

jetter you are right! That side scared the Bejesus out of all, Except Picton.Who lead by Gary dowse taught them a lesson. (Rumours were narellan boys didnt get paid) And the reggies that year went through undefeated.Except a draw with the Workies in round 2 or 3 (TC may know).
Possibly, I think I remember our boys leading and falling just short at the end for a draw. our reggies struggled a bit that year, but like always our club has a knack of putting in a backs to the wall performance., 2004 was my first full year of first grade, and I just remember Jason McKinnon telling me it was my job to rush off the line and try and chop Hammo, that was Fun.

Last year's coach has done it for a few years and decided not to continue - not the first coach ever to do that. I'm not on the committee but the Jets received a number of quality applicants for the job. Co- coaching is fraught with danger and I'm guessing the committee didn't want to lose a coach already in the club (Ruttle and McMemeny) so gave them both the job. Two different mindsets didn't work so Shane let Corey do the job.

I am not sure of Corey's reason for giving up the job, but him leaving isn't a club in crisis, or that the players run the show, or the players are only worried about their next cheque. If you are a fair dinkum footballer money is secondary, you have to play for the love of it, the enjoyment being with mates and that club environment, otherwise you will be shown up. You got to remember that Jetters area different breed, they stick together and bleed for each other !!

I believe Shane Wilson, ex Souths player who has coaching experience, was a previous applicant and is likely to be offered the job.

I will let everyone else make up their own minds on the Narellan breed Jetter. Needless to say I'd think it's far from a 'stick together' mentality. In fact I'd argue you've described exactly the Narellan mentality over the past 2 seasons in particularly and low and behold exactly what's happened is that you've been 'shown up'

Time will tell though.

Bein a front rower who played that team twice in 04 i can honestly say you were in for a long arvo when you played that pack Big mean and hungry.

I can still remember playing them at the Jets and after the game there president walking in with a case of beer as we had 17 and finished with 12.

I can still feel it now taking the first kick of and hamo and wilko just making a bee line at me!

Good mail the club over looked deubago for the first grade job and let him go, and what grade did mcmenemy coach last year, was always around never seen him coach last year. Your kidding yourself narellan is the home of the mercenaries. Highlighted by the grubbiness of your recruits. Will be lucky to finish 5 games this year with 13 players

A delegate of their committee tried to pass a motion that all clubs enter a $1500 nomination fee that goes towards the Grand Final prize on top of the $5000 prize, so i dare say they will be looking for the cash injection from the pre-season comp, which is nothing to be sneezed at from memory

Not in 04
Beau played 18s in 01, then I'm pretty sure he played firsts as a 17/18year old in 02
Correct, Beau was 18s in 01-02. And he definitely never played a game on the wing for any of the 3 grades he played in. Way too good to be wasted out there, even as a 17 year old.
That 04 team was exceptionally good though. They won the GF by about 40.

Pre season competition kicks off in a couple of weeks do we think teams will play strong squads or rest big guns ? Anyone wanna pick a fav to win it ... My fav would be Picton won the 9s And bush v beach Last pre season they take these comps seriously.
A delegate of their committee tried to pass a motion that all clubs enter a $1500 nomination fee that goes towards the Grand Final prize on top of the $5000 prize, so i dare say they will be looking for the cash injection from the pre-season comp, which is nothing to be sneezed at from memory
Fancy that the team that's gone back to back and have recruited well again this year and are favourites for 2015 want more prize money... How are numbers at training tc will you guys comfortably field 2 teams or will there be some reggies boys backing up most weeks.

That was the joke around the room, winning back to back and hitting everyone up for more dough
I think we are in a better position than a few clubs in regards to numbers, i haven't been at training much, but from all reports it would be good to see them all at training at one time, but we are good

Maybe we could simplify the process and all clubs could just donate $500 or so to Picton? Can anyone 2nd the motion?
