Judd was asked and he said no!!!!!! As For the Mossy boys - well 2 of them were in the southern stars team last year, Diomei played country 2013... As for the other fella - well he just got named captain... Players pick themselves with good form, look at where Mossy is in the ladder, to have 3 players in a rep team shouldn't be a surprise to anyone!!! |

So no one has answered the question for 2015 in that if a player was asked or selected for Group 6 rep team and declined, for whatever reason, will they be stood down for their club game that weekend??? |

It's always been the case in the past, in fact aren't they stood down from club duties until rep fixtures are finished ? |

Thats the way I understood it. The only exception were those players at the back end of their career who sought permission to not be included. Will clubs be up in arms if players can't play this weekend, or has Gr 6 Management taken a strong stand on the issue?? |

Congrats group 6 on the solid win. Heard conditions were pretty wet and ordinary. Bring on group 7 at mossy! |

Group 7 will be a significantly harder challenge if previous years are anything to go by. Should be a great game though. Hopefully if the top level players are available this weekend they all play. It would be very interesting to see exactly how far we could go with all hands on deck. Flanagan, Lett, Gibbs etc would be among the best players in their positions in all of CRL. In saying that, there are some very good players currently filling those spots. Great to see Provost get a crack at hooker, he's been consistently one of the groups best performers the last 3 years. |

Will Sundays result be the turning point in Narellans season? I thought they competed with Picton and if a few things went their way at crucial stages they may have caused an upset. Time will tell |

Fraser Masimanua and Rodney Merritt both released by Narellan over the past 7 days, you would think probably because the pair of them couldn't string 3 games together with out being suspended. a realistic goal for Narellan this year would be to try and make the semis I can't see them competing with any of the top 4 sides? ha ha look Narellan shot them selfs in the foot with frazer!! when he first come out to g6 he reaked of potential and there was a lot more footy in him than grubbyness. He looked sure he was well on his way back to an nrl club, unfortunately I would suggest the jets supporters/associate's encouraged him to play like a criminal which he sure was doing towards the end of his stint in the group. He will move on from g6 and probably end up at cabra!! and for Merritt, woodo was getting much more out of him at thirlmere playing him in the forwards Keeping him amongst the action where he was dominating sides at times! Seemed dis-interested playing out of position at Narellan and was always caught up in the wannabe thug antics as well! wouldnt be surprised to see him link back up with woodo could see Dane trying to help recapture some form.. What a waste of talent and money!! Bravo Narellan 😂👏 |

That's disappointing considering the club backed them at the start of the year over another coach who wanted to do a similar thing |

Copy and past from 'Macarthur Rugby League Wrap' facebook page: The Group 6 CRL rep team will have over 300 games of combined NRL experience at its disposal as they take on the Group 7 Rugby League side at Community Oval, home of the Moss Vale Dragons this Saturday afternoon. Spectators can look forward to a high quality contest with names like Bryce Gibbs, Ray Cashmere, Stuart Flanagan, Michael Lett, and Drury Low all turning out for the Group 6 side. Group 6 coach Russell Lewis is excited to be working with a squad full of such talent and experience. “Between our starting front row (Props Gibbs and Cashmere and hooker Flanagan) I think it’s 304 NRL games experience combined. Our go forward up the middle should be pretty good” said Lewis. “Hopefully they can get us into good field position and the likes of (fullback) Michael Lett and our other outside backs can get some quality ball off the back of that”. The annual contest is traditionally a tight one with Group 7 triumphing on the majority of occasions over the past decade. Lewis understands that his side will have to perform if they are to reverse that trend. “They (Group 7) will be tough. They’ll turn up. Their halfback Jono Dallas went on to play for Country last year, so they’ll be strong.” At the completion of the match selectors will sit down to pick the Greater Southern Redbacks team, comprised of players from Groups 6, 7, & 16, to compete in the CRL Country Championships. Group 6 defeated Group 16 Rugby League last weekend by 36-16. The score line becomes more impressive when you consider that Gibbs, Flanagan, and Lett were all missing. Coach Lewis was especially happy with his squads performance given, not only the key players missing, but the conditions they played in. “It was 18-10 our way at half time, and we went on with it. There were atrocious conditions in the second half, but we gelled a bit better.” Lewis nominated Cashmere, Matt Thorpe, skipper Luke Roberts, and Anthony Provost as his best performers, but conceded the entire squad were on their game. Group 6 officials will be banking on a big crowd to cheer their side home on Saturday. They’ve certainly gone the right way about getting bums on seats by charging no entry fee. Lewis, likewise, is looking forward to the challenge and believes it will be a great day. “Yeah, 2 o’clock kick off and free entry” he said, before adding: “We’ve trained well and are looking forward to the game. Hopefully Group 6 can get plenty of players in the Southern Stars team”. Written by Matthew French https://www.facebook.com/macarthurrugbyleague |
