Should have played the game at Camden. Electric scoreboard, best surface, would have got a better crowd too.

Copy and past from 'Macarthur Rugby League Wrap' facebook page: The Group 6 CRL rep team will have over 300 games of combined NRL experience at its disposal as they take on the Group 7 Rugby League side at Community Oval, home of the Moss Vale Dragons this Saturday afternoon. Spectators can look forward to a high quality contest with names like Bryce Gibbs, Ray Cashmere, Stuart Flanagan, Michael Lett, and Drury Low all turning out for the Group 6 side. Group 6 coach Russell Lewis is excited to be working with a squad full of such talent and experience. “Between our starting front row (Props Gibbs and Cashmere and hooker Flanagan) I think it’s 304 NRL games experience combined. Our go forward up the middle should be pretty good” said Lewis. “Hopefully they can get us into good field position and the likes of (fullback) Michael Lett and our other outside backs can get some quality ball off the back of that”. The annual contest is traditionally a tight one with Group 7 triumphing on the majority of occasions over the past decade. Lewis understands that his side will have to perform if they are to reverse that trend. “They (Group 7) will be tough. They’ll turn up. Their halfback Jono Dallas went on to play for Country last year, so they’ll be strong.” At the completion of the match selectors will sit down to pick the Greater Southern Redbacks team, comprised of players from Groups 6, 7, & 16, to compete in the CRL Country Championships. Group 6 defeated Group 16 Rugby League last weekend by 36-16. The score line becomes more impressive when you consider that Gibbs, Flanagan, and Lett were all missing. Coach Lewis was especially happy with his squads performance given, not only the key players missing, but the conditions they played in. “It was 18-10 our way at half time, and we went on with it. There were atrocious conditions in the second half, but we gelled a bit better.” Lewis nominated Cashmere, Matt Thorpe, skipper Luke Roberts, and Anthony Provost as his best performers, but conceded the entire squad were on their game. Group 6 officials will be banking on a big crowd to cheer their side home on Saturday. They’ve certainly gone the right way about getting bums on seats by charging no entry fee. Lewis, likewise, is looking forward to the challenge and believes it will be a great day. “Yeah, 2 o’clock kick off and free entry” he said, before adding: “We’ve trained well and are looking forward to the game. Hopefully Group 6 can get plenty of players in the Southern Stars team”. Written by Matthew French https://www.facebook.com/macarthurrugbyleague How is this Roberts captain in a side with so much nrl experience????? Wasn't even a group 7 rep last year, any players with group aspirations will be heading to mossy next year lol

You're a brave man mustard to bag a winning team! Not bagging the side just can't work out how a bloke whose come into the group this year, looked up g7 gf teams and he was coming off the bench, ddnt play g7, now captain of a group 6 team brimming with nrl experience?????? Surely I'm not the only one that thinks it's abit suss, letty flanno been playing in the group for a couple of years and both captained the side previously.

Hot Mustard who ever you are, Luke come from Warilla where obviously he wasn't favored by the warilla coach (group 7 and southern Stars coach) hooper... Luke played with me in 1st grade Carlton league grand finals - he can play the game, playing at Mossvale has been a great change for Robbo, he had been playing out of his skin for mossy.. I've never seen a 30 year old man so excited to make a rep team, the same team a hell of a lot of players do their very best to stay away from.. A few people think that I had a influence in him being named captain - truthfully I wanted another fella - also no NRL experience!! Robbo collected players player in the group 16 game, an award selected by his teammates. To bring in Flanno, Letty and Gibbsy was a massive boost to all in the squad, but I don't think Robbo deserved to lose his Captaincy, he played game 1 and excelled.. A lot of uneducated people bag this team and these players, you can only work with the players that turn up. Oh and BTW Mossy isn't the gateway to a rep team, but pop down the freeway and ask for a game so I can go back into retirement and try your luck..
Don't bag people unless your willing to pull your hand up and help out - at any level...

He is usually the most respected, best role model and normally looks over his shoulder to find a stack of people following him (quite often to his surprise because of his humility).
Well done to the Workers boys yesterday. They crafted out a fine win, from 16-4 down.

Paint it how ever you want, reality is that a lot of good players come to the comp don't get a look in at group selection first year as 3 games is hard to see a players worth, yet mossy get 3 in after beating the struggling teams of the competition, one of which goes on to captain of g6 after being a fringe first grader at warilla, not bagging anyone just saying how it looks especially with the back row stocks the group has!

Depends how they adapt to the very oppressive conditions of a Mossy night game. I will say they've been below par the last two weeks but have still got up against decent opposition. Were missing Twist, Matthews, Kenny, Rory Vale. Not sure how many of them are back this week but pretty sure at least Twisty and Matthews are. - Red hot Camden over city comfortably. - flip a coin Oaks and Mitta. Leaning towards Oaks. - Thirlmere over Oakdale by 1-12. - Appin over Narellan. Big name players will prove the difference.
