First Round is done and dusted Camden & Picton seem streets ahead of the rest, with Picton taking the first half honours. Both sides have a lot more superior cattle than the rest of the comp and the depth of Picton is something to be admired. The forward packs of these 2 sides is unmatched, however i think Picton have classier backs. I think complacency is going to be the elephant in the room for the Magpies. The Oaks have surprised with their position on the table and it's a great effort for them to be where they are, they haven't got the biggest budget and from appearances i don't think they have spent a great deal. From what i've seen Mittagong are the best structured team behind the top 2, and can play more consistent football than most teams, they do a lot of the little things right, and that would be the result of a flow on effect from the last couple of years down there. On potential Appin should be competing at the top, but keep turning in inconsistent performances, look for them to start playing when it matters. So who makes the top 5? 1. Picton 2. Camden 3. Mittagong 4. The Oaks 5. Appin Appin play Moss Vale in Round 18 which could be for the final semi spot, and I think Mossy just miss out, but it's a great effort from them to get to where they are.

I doubt the group would give up the Alcohol sales for the GF. It will be one the club grounds for sure I know Orana Park has fans for the GF, but even 5,000 people there looks paltry, and spread out effects the atmosphere. Council long since sold off catering/ alcohol rights and G6 doesn't exactly garner the corporate support to sell all the boxes for a big quid. In saying that though, there are few better Stadium atmospheres in the NRL than what a full house at Orana Park generates. G6 would have to hire the venue and all they would get would be the gate/ raffles and doubles sales.
In a purely hypothetical situation, if the Group wished to stage a 'neutral' GF in Campbelltown, my two choices would be 1. Lynwood Park Wedderburn (put some footy post sleeves in); 2. Campbelltown Showground- Harlequins RFC home ground, hosted the 1970 1st Grade GF.

Just a reminder to all Group 6 aficionados, of the upcoming Tony Norton testimonial dinner on Saturday night at Wests Campbelltown. Tickets are only $45 per head and all enquiries should be directed to Wayne Smithers of the Kangaroos' Old Boys: 0450 379 526. The Night will also honour Kangaroos' Legends Alf Duguid, Dud Jones and Bernie 'Poppa' Evans; as well as providing acknowledgement to the Kangaroos' own Kim Patrick, having made the G6 Team of the Century.

Camden with them 2 signings just put them selfs right in line with Picton! Inno inosesio to lead camdens pack with cashmere and weir off the back of their go forward. Collis the much needed outside strike Camden have lacked

It looks like we have gone back in time where the 2 biggest clubs are forking out the most money. It's been 12-15 years since Camden have had cash to burn. The wages bill must be high for 2 x Borgs, Weir, Cashmere, Collis, Inosesio, Goulton, lucky you didn't end up with Reeves as coach too. lol
