1 team can't be that bad
30-5, that would have to be some kind of record

Any news out of today's clashes? Looks like it's a straight for and against shoot out between Camden and Picton for top spot.

I think you're right Orana
Picton are impressive. The forward pack is like a production line, they just turn out one big guy after another, and their toilers just fill the gaps in between
I stopped in the CVI on the way back from Picton and the guys were saying Ryan Borg completely tore his hamstring today, big news
I also got wind that Bryce Gibss got sighted after the fact and got 12 weeks, downgraded to 6 weeks, that's a huge blow

That's 6-8 weeks right there for R.Borg, but could probably access physio through his work and get it spot on for for back-end of the finals. Would still be a significant in-game risk.

First grade teams forfeiting???? What a joke will the group be penalising the clubs?

In all my memory of G6, I've never heard of 1st Grade forfeits. The difference between our competition and other competitions has always been the pride taken that all PLAYING commitments have always been fulfilled.
I remember the Camden club in the final round in 2010 turning up to play at Stromeferry in the Combined Competition with 9 players in U/18s and 9 players in Reserves. Once a commanding lead was established in both grades, we reverted to playing 9-a-side, and FULFILLED ALL COMMITMENTS. The Camden Club- our traditional rivals- were much respected for that.

Yeah, I'm certainly not keen on bagging anyone especially not knowing the particulars of their situation, but my initial thoughts were similar.
2007 was not Picton's best year. Failed to make the semis in 1st grade and bundled out in the 1st week in reggies. Late in the year we were really battling for numbers and came up against Goulburn who were 1st in both grades.
We had a do-do load of injuries and also a bunch of uncommitted blokes that had walked out during the year. We had 12 blokes at training for both grades on the Thursday and were all but forfeiting reggies, but our president at the time (Dennis Zammit) insisted that we had never forfeited and were not about to. We had a big ring around and I think we ended up with 23 for both grades. I played 2nd row in reggies, then started in front row in 1st grade. That was a tough day!! We got busted, but it's a day I look back on with fond memories now.
Anyway, I hope Appin can bounce back from it. I know Picton were not too disappointed, at least in first grade. They had a couple that were real busted, especially after playing the Jets Wed night.

Lets hear it from the horse's mouth.... Rob?? He always has an opinion but is silent at the moment.

I am interested to hear his view on the Gibbs suspension, considering he called Frazer a grub earlier in the year but his star signing has eclipsed his time off the field

Yes we forfeited due to no players being available due to injuries.
No I don't believe I have called Fraser a grub?
Yes Gibbs is currently suspended but will return soon.

How many players registered at Appin??? Couldn't come up with 13 to play first grade? Must have about 20 injuries then. Wonder if it'd be the same story playing a team at the other end of the ladder.....I think not!

Didn't moss vale forfeit against Camden no one mention that.... And pretty sure if rob has called Fraser a grub he ain't the only one.... The Gibbs incident to me seems like a square up 1-1 now

A few have called Frazer a grub on here but it has now come back to bite Rob, as his star signing has now put himself in that same category.

Mossy and Appin both forfeited, but its a far stretch that EVERY player as was stated was injured and could not play

If anything both clubs should have forfeited Reserve Grade and fielded a 1st Grade team. It will be interesting to see the fines issued as other opposition clubs would have been inconvenienced, not to mention the credibility of both forfeiting clubs and the competition itself.

Pastrami, it hasn't come back to bite me ?
We gave the group and the clubs the required notice for the forfeit , you should contact them if you are not happy.
I know from talking to Payney and from the email that went out today from the group that mossy u18 have forfeited for the rest of the year due to injuries and lack of numbers.

An old 'Roo popped in, and word came to the Court Tavern via the Appin Hotel, that a 17-nil forfeited scoreline was far better than a minimum 50-nil blowout.
A 1st Grade game should have at least been played. Two competition points should be deducted for forfeits.
Mossy forfeiting has no relevance to any argument. Mick Sutton and Payney have worked their proverbials off this year to get a 1st Grade club going after years in the doldrums.

Orana, only working within the rules.

The kind of comment you'd expect from a mob that have no respect for the game or the competition they play in
