Well done to Ben Baker, he has been one of the best in both of these competitions for a long time. Very consistent. Is the deal done for him to stay with Easts? I heard he may be seeking some RMC deals? Must have been paying some big dollars to keep him there considering his dream is to make NRL and the RMC would be a good way to get there.
Some people need to know that's it's not all about the money, if players are happy and enjoying their footy, they will play for less just to enjoy the game, Sam Hoare and Dunley is a perfect example for this, while at our club, they had offers of twice as much to play in other clubs but played with mates and a club they enjoyed to play with, Ben has loved his footy this year and it's comforting to hear his girlfriend say how happy he has been at home, while playing for the Eagles

I can see Ben finding a home at the Eagles for many years to come and we all enjoy having him around, a fantastic player, and he has been a real good role model for our Junior players

Turning point at 26-nil? Hmm. I doubt said journo covers much Rugby League. Turning point was back to back yardage errors by Camden when score was still 2-nil.
14-zip three minutes later.
I can't believe Camden were so good in the Major and so poor yesterday. Apparently there was a team at Bradbury Oval doing ballwork at 11am. Surely it wasn't them?
That was my first thought as soon as I read it!! Turning point!!

Hi all. I have been watching G6 for a while now. Got a couple of questions, 1. Can Camden recover from this beating? Will be very hard to get over such a loss. 2. Whilst watching G6 this year, I believe the standard has gone down? I don't believe it is so strong as before.

To be honest there were two sides and we all know it, I would rather see good games every week. This is nothing against the G6 or anyone involved, but the footy in 1st grade was poor this year.

Thoughts?
I didn't see it that way. Obviously the two top teams were leagues ahead, but that had a lot to do with the depth at their clubs, ot just the strength of their top teams. Appin, in particular, at full strength were at least in the same league as Picton and Camden, if not quite as strong. The Oaks and, to a lesser extent, Narellan would still have been competitive in any other Group 6 season over the past five years or so. Even Thirlmere at their best were very strong. We just didn't see them at their best.

To answer your other question. No doubt. Camden are a very well run club with great resources. They'll be back bigger and better. Not sure about Cashmere, although I don;t doubt he could go around again if he wanted. I'm sure the Borg's, after having a short while to recoup, will realise the fire to win a group 6 comp is still there. And besides that they are an extremely strong squad al over the park. If they can maintain even 3/4 of it they'll be up there.

Didn't they just blow full time and not send them off? Wasnt worthy anyways
But I'd be surprised if they don't suspend Ray, im sure he'd just take the plea considering he is retiring.

I don't remember the ref dismissing them
The headbutt deserves suspension, it's a bad look for the showpiece game
I know you had a guy suspended on video evidence, but if you are pushing for the 2 blokes fighting to be suspended, I think it's really bad karma

Huge success. Gate up. Atmosphere was electric with just the one hill and the Alf Duguid Stand open. Premium facilities, never again would rain ruin the day.
Caterers stuffed up, under staffed and under catered apparently.

4000-4500 they are claiming
Beer line was terrible
Only 1 Southern end team playing during the whole day, and that was 18 2s
My concern is if there are multiple highlands teams
Atmosphere was good

Mittagong 18-2s were very well represented, even at 8.30am. Might be an issue with senior teams but shouldn't be with a train line straight to the door.
Not a fan of full strength beer and crowd control but a lot of the Picton boys were already well into it beforehand. The Camden crowd? Tough to tell. If us beating them wasn't enough, they were in shellshock after you blokes got the golden cash

I agree. 1st group 6 GF I've been to but I reckon other venues wouldn't come close. Great atmosphere n everyone gets a great view of the game. The premier matches deserve the best venue available. I'm sure if the southern teams make it they will travel. Can't comment on the catering I never used it. Hopeful there again next year n I can watch the jets in the last game of the day.

Need to open more food and alcohol at either end to reduce lines. Lost heaps of customers who weren't willing to wait it out. Then it ended up making it difficult to go to the toilet, having to navigate through all the people who didn't want to lose their spot in the line.

How much did the group pay to hire the stadium for the day ? I remember back in 2010 when the GF was held there it wasn't cheap.
