In all honesty I haven't heard his name mentioned Unless someone else is talking to him behind the scenes? We signed a couple of front rowers, which will give us some starch and we hope to finalise our recruitment next week. |

They ddnt get woodo back for his coaching ability. Made it obvious they were after flanno as soon as they signed woodo as assistant |

I heard it wasn't that Narellan offered him massive coin, it was more him doing the asking of both Thirlmere & the Jets.... Plenty of updates from Mossy & the Jets on Facebook, not much else! Any word on Thirlmere or Oakdale signings as Picton, Mittagong, Camden & The Oaks would just be keeping the core from the season just done I think. Any news is good to hear....... |

Picton are pretty much the same as last year. Almost certain Jakiel will not be there. Latest word is he'll be at the Titans or Storm. Kiel Shephard is assisting with reserve grade and may play reggies. The only new signing I know of is Erin Blackshaw from Mittagong. |

The City Club is delighted to announce the confirmation of its coaching staff for the 2016 CRL Group 6 season. Former Wests Magpies Sydney Shield Coach Dan Beardshaw joins Drew Dalton as 1st Grade Assistant Coach. Dan is vastly experienced coaching in Australia and the United Kingdom, where he hails from Hull KR. It gives the Board great pleasure to announce the appointment and return of Anthony Dalton to the Club as our Reserve Grade coach. A fine clubman, Anthony provided sterling service between 2010- 2013 to both the Junior and Senior Kangaroo Clubs and will do a great job guiding our players towards 1st Grade, while running a formidable Reserve Grade team, ready to challenge for premiership honours in 2016. Anthony may also play as the season progresses. Highly respected champion Campbelltown Warriors junior Fred Borg links with the blue and gold club as U/18A coach, as a formidable squad develops to defend the 2015 Premiership. The nephew of Bulldogs NRL Assistant Coach Jim Dymock, Borg is a master tactician and commands respect throughout the Macarthur region. Champion former Group 6 representative front rower Mick Wilkins returns as U/18A Assistant Coach. Ever popular premiership winning U/18B Coach Andy ‘Thumbzee’ Byrne returns to defend the U/18B title. Byrne does a wonderful job with boys looking for a game who may not be ‘rep class’ players, but love playing and seek the fun/ enjoyment that the camaraderie a Rugby League team provides. Training for all Mens’ Grades, starts on Tuesday 12th January at 6.45pm, Fullwood Reserve Claymore. In a major coup, Mel Ireland, champion OzTag player and member of the CRL championship winning Kiama Knights Ladies League Tag team, has agreed to terms as Captain- Coach of our inaugural Ladies’ League Tag team. Mel will be assisted by her partner, Kurt Mangan, a Campbelltown City junior, who has played Australian OzTag in 2012-14 in succession. A formidable squad is emerging in this grade for the Kangaroos, the first time Group 6 will run Ladies’ League Tag on the same match day schedule as the senior grades. Ladies’ League Tag training starts on Wednesday February 3rd. The City Club extends its very best to all for the 2015 Festive Season. Please drive safe and be safe. The Club thanks its supporters and we look forward to your support in the new 2016 season. |

I'm not sure that was ever an actual rule. There is a long standing rule that any club CAN block any player from joining another club within the group. Rarely, if ever, put in practice, however. Update though, I'm pretty sure this one is being blocked. After talking with those in the know at Picton on the weekend apparently Blackshaw has been told something to the effect of "you will never play for Picton". From what I'm told his point of view is Picton are not going to win because of him and Mittagong are not going to lose because of him, he just wants a change and has a lot of friends at Picton. From the looks of it, though, this one will be blocked. On another note, anyone hear about the player levy being raised this year? I hear it was proposed. |

There's a by-law from the 1970s, that is re-affirmed every season at the AGM called 'The Movement of Player of Rule'. It started over some player at Campbelltown Collegians and was legally challenged. Our Club used it in 1977 to prevent Ron Kain joining Picton. He played for Thirroul that season before linking with the Magpies in 1978. Basically the Club where the player played the previous season has the right to deny transfer to another G6 Club the following season, should they determine such. |
