Mick Pes might still have to go around again in 2016! Young Kyle Bell will more than handle himself for most games, brilliant young rake. |

APPIN RLFC has been in discussions with the group and have come to the descision of not running a 1st grade team this season. We will still be running a reserve grade and U18s team. We have agreed to still compete in the preseason competing our reggies team to avoid other teams having a bye. |

Soft option. If you have the players to field reserve only why can't they play first? Teams like oakdale, moss vale and city would have been pushed by some Reggie's teams last year. Sure your not gonna win the comp but it's an avenue to blood your best 18s into first grade for the following year |

Can't say I agree with it Your club should be first grade or bust (2nd division). Edited by tc6_11, Mar 3 2016, 07:20 PM.

I'm pretty sure in the last few years both Oakdale an mossy didn't field a 1st grade team? Happy to play 2nd division if required to keep the club going |

Oakdale and moss vale are on the outskirts of the group. One with no juniors the other with a dwindling junior pool. Appin boarders on a thriving rugby league nursery and can't field a first grade team? Think of all the potential players you pushed away the last 2 years blowing all your money on ageing ready made first graders to try and buy the comp. now all your left with is the same lot you've always had that have got no ticker to play first grade. Great example for the kids coming through. I'm sure city won't mind taking a few more of those talented kids off you |

I'm pretty sure it was 1 year (2014), and upon our return instead of trying to buy a comp we have rebuilt a club and culture. Every club has been through the tough times, and you probably wouldn't know it but The Oaks, Narellan and Mittagong have all had a stint in 2nd Division in the last 10 years. |

Atilla,I gather u have very little idea. We compete for players with the coal league who have more money then any group 6 team. As for juniors I believe Appin have 7 teams this year so we don't have the luxury of players coming thru. Money is no problem at our club as we have the same budget as last season. Tc, I was just explaining to everyone that most clubs at times have had to not run a 1st grade team. If it's our turn to sit out of 1st grade then so be it. My own personal thoughts are I don't believe there is enough quality players to field 10 1st grade teams. |

You're probably right about the quality, but why do you need quality? We didn't have the quality players to compete last year, we did however manage victories against The Oaks, Narellan, City and had a draw against you guys, it's not always about winning. Do the hard yards with a lesser quality side and you'll reap the rewards down the track |

Clearly you are the one with no idea! Your gonna tell me you got the same money that got you Gibbs, flanno and the 5-6 other guns for hire you imported and now can't get a team? And the competing with coal league is Bs fair enough you may miss some of the real guns to the coal league but the average group 6 first grader wouldn't get a look in down there. Besides Picton only a short trip to the gong and they're doing alright. |

Rob I've heard from inside the camp you have numbers for 1sts, Reserves and 18s, but will cut 12 blokes next week to stack reggies, because you essentially have 2 reserve grade teams... |

APPIN should of exhausted every option to field 1st grade.I think they pribably wont again for a long time.but Orana you make some pretty big calls considering your club has constantly underachieved.Considering your location and your juniors. You can try to hose that down anyway you like, but reality is thats facts. |

To have a football club rise again out of the ashes of 1984 is in itself an achievement, let alone develop/ build a roster of players with the ability to play 1st Grade from scratch. The birth certificates of our players are now entering the right bracket, so progress will be made again this season. There seems to be a misconception about 'our juniors'. Our junior club only has 13 teams; a lot smaller than most G6 junior clubs. |

i was more pointing out the geographical location of your club is far superior then any other Group 6 club.and the wealth of juniors surrounding your club in the WSDRL. |

It's like The Oaks and Oakdale. Some people would rather pull teeth than play for someone they were raised to rival. Our old senior club had a saying; "We hate the Collies, the Warriors and Camden... in no particular order". |
