Auburn beat All Saints 34-16 today at Belfield. A feature of the game was that both sides had only one benchman, with the Auburn player arriving mid way through the first half. As there was one injury for All Saints and 2 injuries for Auburn, all players played nearly the whole game.

Matt Utai scored 2 tries for Auburn and dropped it when scoring what would have been a 3rd. Heka Nanai was also in the Auburn team.

Weren't they playing RM Cup last year? :dunno: If so massive drop in standard to try to win a comp!

They are still in RMC and Sydney Shield, that would be there 3rd Grade team but they do get the excess bulldogs players, and why they might of had 14 players only? With the SCC rules you must watch the amount of times players play up or down, break that rule and you will lose points, better to keep reserve players playing reserve grade.

I know that Auburn are still in RMC & Sydney Shield as excess Bulldogs players go there. :correct:

I meant Utai & Nanai playing down in A grade is a hell of a drop. It will be interesting to see if they stay down there.

Matt Utai last played RMC in 2014. In 2015 Auburn A Grade forfeited the first 3 games then started putting a team together and Utai registered on 30 June and then they won the comp from 4th place. This year they did not even enter a team but replaced Arncliffe in round 6.

Heka Nanai agreed to play with Blacktown Workers over the summer but never turned up to preseason. He played RMC in round 4 and then a couple games in SS but still not fit and since the Auburn SS is largely part of the Bulldogs NYC squad it looks like it is either RMC or A grade.

Another player, Pat Mafi played the previous A Grade game and then went straight into RMC.

That's ok, anything that makes the competition stronger! I think it's great to see such good players playing in A Grade

We have been hit with a huge injury toll, the boys have done well competing and a lot of guys been pulled up from our 1st Grade, this is part and parcel of the game, hopefully a few guys back in two weeks to get our season back on track!

Boys take on Guildford tomorrow at 2.30 at Waminda, you can also see our 1st Grade take in Auburn Warriors, at 1pm
2nd Grade against Five Dock at 11.30am
3rd Grade against Five Dock at 10.15am
And Under 19's against Newtown Jets at 11am top field
