Going to be using this http://creators.xna.com/en-GB/

Basically going to start and create a selection of 2D based games to be used as part of my portfolio. Going to keep it updated in my blog as well.

Havnt really decided what ill be making yet i have a few ideas nothing solid but im hoping to have some things up towards the end of the year.

If you have any thoughts about 2D games or games in general likes dislikes would be great to hear them.

Just to make sure. 2D games would be like Duck Hunt and Donkey Kong right? That kind of thing? And remember.. there's no stupid questions, just stupid people :)

Right on. I know I talk a LOT about the Fear Effect games.. and I don't know if you've ever played them.. but they have a bunch of mini games built in, like puzzle stuff. I'm a big fan of that kind of thing. Could be some good inspiration if your into that kind of thing.

Wasnt really aiming for things such as that, if i do include puzzles they will be apart of the enviroment so it does not stop the flow of the game.

That would be cool. I love any kind of puzzle in a game.

Been thinking about a few thinking, got in mind either a Knights Templar game but no what you would expect, or a vampire game. Always been interested in doing something based around them and making them relatable.

Sounds cool man.

I think it would be cool to have a game that takes place in the 1400/1500's when Columbus Discovers America, and have it like Fable or something where you can do anything and go anywhere.

I played a game on ps1 a long time ago called Vampire Hunter D. Matt your last post reminds me of it.

And James.. I don't think I've ever seen a game set in that period of time.. could be really interesting.

If i did a game it would be playing as the role of a vampire with humans being the enemy.
Done this before with a design for uni it worked really well.
