I need help with band names. I'm in the middle of forming a band, and we all have our preferences for names. I'm gonna list the suggestions I've made, and I need your help telling me which is best. Also, for any names I haven't listed, please suggest a new name to me!

Sparks
Parachutes
Violet Hill
Square One

You musical style will probably play a role in picking your band name. And since I don't know your musical style it makes it a little hard. But I will say I like the name "Parachutes". "The Parachutes" sounds pretty cool too. For some reason it just sounds like a band name.

Well we're still developing our sound I'd say, but I think we're headed in the direction of pop rock or indie rock. Other band mates are interested in Square One because that's a place close to home for us. I don't like it because it's the name of a shopping mall.

Violet Hill sounds cool too. Don't know if there' s a meaning behind it, but its a nice sounding name.

Have you tried mixing up a couple of names, and come up with something brand new? "Riot Sparks Fire" for example?

I like the the Sky Might Fall or Skys might fall would sound better, i would suggest saying some of them at loud to get a feel for them.

I like square one, being a tom petty song. you can never go wrong with doing, a tom petty sound. thats just my oppinion though

I know, I still like the ragged company, for on it fits us perfect but that might sound better as an album name
