It's to do with distance to the sun, and also the atmospheric refraction. |

| Meh, my bad. It's annoying when you know the reasons for this stuff though. I like pointless information. |

It's also to do with the atmospheric conditions, such as moisture in the air. The location of said moisture refracts the light differently. That, along with the mix of chemicals in the air can change the color quite dramatically. |

Sorry to double post, but here's the elaboration of the answer to "Why did the chicken cross the road?" It is simply because it can. Have you ever seen a chicken that's been flattened by a car? I can answer that for you, and the answer is no. Chickens never get hit by cars, because they know how to cross the road properly. Take a squirrel for example, quite a fast little critter, should be able to cross the road just fine, but they get hit quite a lot. They're under-confident; they get halfway across the road and freeze up. Doesn't matter that they're fast enough to make it, or that there's another animal on the side of the road tellin' the squirrel "Go, you can make it. You're plenty fast enough, just go before.." *SPLAT!* Raccoons are another animal that get hit quite often, but that's due to an over-confidence problem. Picture a raccoon, ready to start across the road in his black mask and his driving gloves. He doesn't look to see if anything is coming, he just starts struttin' across, not even paying attention to the lights getting closer and closer. Nor does he pay attention to the animal on the side of the road tellin' him "You should hurry up, you're gonna get hit." Raccoon keeps struttin' until *SPLAT!* And you know what that animal on the side of the road was? It was a chicken. |

Nah, chickens are cocky because they're delicious and they know it. And last time I answered this question literally eggs were about 4 cents each in USD, but have moved up to about $1.60 a dozen i believe. |
