I am beginning to write my book once i get i have had a burst of ideas for it and its something to do while out of work, now the reason for this post i was wanting to get some impression on some of the stuff i am writing it might just be a couple of pages but i want to see if i am heading in the right direction. Now i wont be putting these pages on my blog for obvious reasons so if anyone is interested in helping out leave your interest here and ill get back to you with some stuff when i am happy with others reading it. What ive got so far with the scenes i have planned out i am really happy with them and i think they will set the right tone or feel to it all. Now this is a dark story but with some very human qualities, i know from the get go it won't be for everyone, though you can't please everyone. Its wierd ive really got behind this story and i really want to tell it more so than a lot of other stuff ive worked on in the past. On a side note im gonna update my blog a little more often with this so look out for those fairly soon. |

Thanks everyone, to answer your question Justin it started out as a straight slasher concept but as i fleshed it out it became something much more. It would come under horror/thriller with slasher elements, but it is very character focused dealing with phycological trauma and how it affects choice etc. The actually story without going into a lot of detail is basically an account of someones downfall of innocence and then giving into their dark desire the aim is to create a character that you'll understand his actions and hopefully and some sympathy towards that character. Now seeing as this is the first book I'm writing i don't expect it to perfect by a longshot but I'll see how it turns out but im enjoying working on it so thats something. The last thing ill say is some of the things im using in it each chapter emd im going to be writing it in a way so your left thinking 'damn' in a similar way a tv show is structured with a hook at the end. Anouther thing is giving the story layers so its not just you read it and your done, stuff is happening to play off other things to make it much richer so if you read it a second time you might notice new things or things will click. I could talk for ages about this which i think is a good sign, just really into it. To me when i havnt been creative for awhile it sort of builds up and actually getting it out feels refreshing and that was one long post
