Plans for 2011

Matt posted a great topic about 2010 and it made me think. As bad as 2010 was, I need to really get my butt in gear and take charge of a few things if I want 2011 to be better. I always think of a lot of New Years Resolutions every year, but seldom carry them out. I'm hoping to have a lot more self-discipline this time around.
Some of the things I want to do:

Stick with a work-out program
Eat a little healthier. I'll never give up the chocolate, but maybe I could add a few fruits and veggies in there somewhere.
Get more sleep. I guess in general...Just take better care of myself.

Other things that are not necessarily resolutions, but things I would like to accomplish..
Get organized. As in, throw out and clean out. Get files in order. And actually have my library in a state so that I know what books I have.

Concentrate on getting in better financial shape.

And finally, seriously do research on and take the first steps at getting my bookstore open.

So what about you? Anything you want to change? Any bad habits you'd like to drop or good ones you'd like to take up? What about dreams and goals you'd like to see happen in 2011?

First things first.. I'm growing my hair back out. Cause things haven't been exactly right since I cut it.. and I just miss the hell out of it!

Other than that.. I guess my goals are the same as everyone else. Take better care of myself.. which is a big one.. cause I suck at that!

Find some kind of way to make some money.. cause life is very hard without it.

And the big one.. Become a Cowboy! :)

I'll probably think of more specific resolutions before the years out. If so I'll be back to tell yall about em.

Good luck to everyone in their new year!

You have some good ideas there, my advice for sticking with them is to think of the long terms goals/benifits and also to take steps or deadlines to push yourself to meet them, It is hard but it is very rewarding once you accomplish it.

I love the idead of opening a bookstore and it would be a great backbone for making changes as that could be the reward at the end of it all.

For myself 2011 I see it as a year of change and more importantly finding out just how I'm going to spend the next few years. I have a new job starting in January which is for 6 months and that should help to give me new skills and experience which will help in finding a more long term job.

Aside from the work aspects I will be keeping up with fitness more often it has been hit and miss this year I'm not to sure what else the general tone I want to have going into 2011 is one of moving on and pushing forward onto something new and better.

Thanks,Matt! The bookstore is something I've wanted to do for a long time. I have a lot of author friends who will be more than delighted to help me stock the shelves and I have a lot of used book resources online that I buy from. Inventory won't be a problem. I just need to find a good location that I can afford and some reliable help.
You have some great goals as well. I'm thrilled that you got the job and I hope everything turns out well for you.

Seems like fitness is a common goal. Maybe we should all work out some kind of thing where we can post our goals and accomplishments. These things seem to be more successful when you have a support system.

Not big on resolutions, I have never seen anyone (myself included) keep one.

So I am going to keep it nice and short...Get a J.O.B (that I like).

Yeah a job is a good one, what kind of stuff are you looking for?
I'm not sure how it is over in the US but over here the job picture is horrible took me over 6 months to get the job I got just glad that it is something I'm interested in.

It's the same here. Extremely hard to find a job. Especially if you uneducated like me ;)

I have a job. It's a real job, working for a real company.. but I work at home, I'm always tempted to slack off, plus I'm still learning the job, and I'm slow.. which means not much money's :( But it's better than a lot of folks I guess.
Guess I could make a resolution to work a little harder at it this year.

Not sure what kind of job I want, it changes from day to day. Probably something outside though.

Getting a job is a good one. There's a quote that I like that says "Get a job doing something you love and you will never have to work a day in your life."
I hope you can find something you love!! :D
