There are five Third Party Administrators (TPAs = Lynx, gerber national, harmon solutions group, SGC network, alliance claims services) that process glass claims for auto insurance companies. You have to register for them separately and it takes a couple hours total. After you're set up and they've given you the shop number...

1. call the number on client's insurance card...
2. tell them you have a glass claim
3. spend ~ 5 min answering questions
4. accept the price quoted for the work
5. note authorization number on your invoice and have customer sign
6. submit invoice to TPA
7. get paid in 6 to ~ 21 days

Bing.com search on "windshield repair insurance billing & startup information" led me to some good info.
