Kas/Mick - What we Don't Know Won't Hurt Us Kasandra laid there looking at Mick’s naked form in the dark cool night air; he was so strong and warm. She couldn’t get over the fact that he was still here and alive, now that he was here with her she was gitty and wanted to cuddle up next to him, his strong arms wrapped around her keeping her safe and warm. The world outside didn’t matter, well it did, but she wanted to enjoy this time with him, they both needed the rest and no one knows what tomorrow will bring. Jack wants to head out in the morning and try to stop this Reckoning from happening or at the very least stop Archer. Why hadn’t Kas seen it before; Archer never did set well with her, but they had been so busy with everything else, that it was hard to catch everything it wasn’t like they were all just sitting around doing nothing, how could they be expect to see everything, she was just one person. Still Kas should have known better, trust your gut, that was the important thing and she hadn’t and now things were worse then before. Kas looked at her arm, it was still tender, how long was it going to take for this, this stupid thing to heal, it was annoying her more then anything, still she thought how long would it take to heal, that was the question, G’Kar had said it wouldn’t be long, but it was, it seemed like it was taking forever. She didn’t want to say anything to the others, but she was getting worried about it. Kas sighed and rubbed her arm. She looked at Mick and smiled, she watched him breathe his chest raising and falling with each breath so strong so beautiful, so perfect. He slept so peacefully and he looked so handsome laying there. He had such a nice body he really did. Kas got an evil grin on her face, she hadn’t really gotten to see things, she felt them and it all felt great and wonderful, she smiled and picked up the sheets that were covering Mick’s body, she lifted them up and looked down into the darkness seeing the rest of his body, she could see that he was semi aroused which meant of course that he was in a deep sleep. She watched it twitch for a minute, then put the covers back down covering him up. Kas rubbed her arm again as it twinged and she looked at Mick again, her face distant and her mind blank she saw his face as he rested, she thought how easy it would be for her to wrap her hands around his neck and strangling the life out of him it wouldn’t take anymore then a minute or two and with as deeply as he was resting he would be dead before he realized it. She smiled it wasn’t really difficult and much cleaner then slitting his throat with a knife, that was for Gwen, after all she couldn’t be distracted neither her nor Jack could be, they had things they needed to do the two of them needed to work together with no interruptions. That cunt, the brazing slut tramp Gwen wouldn’t stop her and neither would this prick Mick, big dick Mick wouldn’t keep her from doing what needed to be done, so easy it would be to strangle him he would never know. Then she and Jack could get done what needed to be done. Kas smiled looking at him watching him breath he was handsome, his hair was a little messed up but he still looked so good. His blue eyes blinked open as he smiled at her, seeing her laying there looking at him, “penny for your thoughts.” He said in a groggy voice smiling at her lazily. Kas rested her head on his chest, what was she thinking about just now, she didn’t remember it mustn’t have been important, she hated when she forget what it was that was just on her mind. “I was just thinking how it’s so nice to have you here and to be with you. Where I don’t’ have to worry about you, Mick you have no idea how concerned I was for you.” Mick rested his arm on her shoulder and she smiled. That’s what it was; she was thinking how lucky she was to have him. She kissed his hand as he gave her a soft squeeze, “We really should get some rest.” Kas said and Mick kissed the top of her head, she smiled and closed her eyes. Mick did the same and they fell back to sleep both comforted in each others arms. |

A sharp slap to the face woke Mick out of a sound sleep. He looked over at Kas, who was blearily looking at him. She saw her arm over his face and said, "Oh god. Oh...i'm so sorry!" She moved her arm and Mick looked at her sheepishly. He said, "I'd have rather just had a wake up call." Kas was rubbing his face. She said, "I'm so sorry....I'm not used to...Company in my bed." Mick said, "How do you think I feel then? This isn't even your bed." Kas looked at him blankly for a moment, then she started giggling. It got deeper and deeper until she was facedown on her pillow, her nude body shaking. She finally collected herself and said, "That was very funny. I'm abusing you in your own bed. You poor thing. Was the war ever like this?" Mick said, "No...In the war, I knew who my enemy was. I never thought I'd have the traitor in my own bed." Kas gave him a sinister look. She said, "I've come to pillage you, Major!" She straddled him on the bed and leaned down for a deep kiss. She said, "I'd love round three, but Jack was very adamant about us leaving today. We'd bed get our butts out of bed and be ready for the catcalls." Mick nodded and Kas reluctantly left the top of him. Mick said, "Care to use my shower, Doctor?" Kas smiled. She said, "You could twist my arm into it." Mick said, "I'm a little lacking in soap though." Kas threw part of her clothes on and said, "Not to worry. You get things warmed up, and I'll be in shortly." Mick nodded and watched her leave. She had the most incredible little ass. Mick took the clothes she'd brough last night and set them in the bathroom. He turned the water on and let it get hot. He waited for a moment, then decided to wait for her inside. He let the water run down his head. He saw the shower curtain move and hands were on his eyes. He said, "Oh dear God, it's Harkness." Kas laughed in his ear. She said, "Nope. Why? were you hoping?" Mick said, "Not a chance." Mick looked at her selection. He said, "The pink shampoo looks like it will be really masculine smelling." Kas said, "Here you goof." She handed him a bottle that was filled with Dark Blue shampoo. He said, "I should have known better than to open my mouth. You're always one step ahead of everything." They took turns washing, each one doing the other's back. Kas ran a hand down the scars from his various encounters. She gave a few of them small kisses. Mick said, "So what happens after this?" Kas said, "What do you mean?" Mick said, "Well, assuming we survive, what does the future hold for us?" Kas started getting a nervous look. She siad, "You're Military, I'm civillian. It's hard to tell. We've got seperate lives. There's no telling what..." Mick pulled her face close to his and kissed her. She met his lips hungrily. Mick broke the kiss and said, "Maybe it;s time for a career change." Kas looked at him warily. Mick said, "Spend enough time getting shot at, and you begin to wonder if you're pressing your luck." Kas said, "What do you mean....?" Mick said, "Well, surely you've got some sort of work i can help you out with...Driving your car, emptying your trash?" Kas said, "You're serious, aren't you? You'd quit for me, wouldn't you?" Mick said, "Yes...I do believe I would." Kas looked scared. She said, "And you'd want a big family, wouldn't you?" Mick said, "Why?" Kas looked near tears. She said, "I can't....Have any....When we were at the breeding facility...They scanned me...and I came up 4F.." She sank to the floor and sat, shoulders hunched, her wet hair hanging over her face. Mick sat down next to her and wrapped at arm around her." Kas looked at him. Mick said, "If it comes to that...There's always adoption." Kas' eyes filled with hope. Mick gave her a small smile. She lurched forward and locked her lips with his. He stood up and she went with him, wrapping a leg around him. She said, "Now." Mick said, "But Jack..." Kas' eyes were filled with joy. She siad, 'He can wait. For now. it's just us." Their bodies met under the hot water. |

“We’re just about ready, Jack.” Ianto said checking off yet another thing on his list. “Another few minutes and we should be good to go.” “Good,” Jack said and paused. “Can I… can we… talk, for a minute?” Mathias looked over from where he was loading the last of the bags into the transport. There had been some rather hot debating about who went and who stayed here. In the end it had been decided that Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Mick, Jake (who really didn’t want to go), John, The Doctor, Kas, Andrew, Mathias, Kara and the Master would be going. More wanted to come, but there wasn’t room, and they needed what natural fighters were already at the facility to stay to defend it, just in case they failed. “Sure,” Ianto said glancing over at Mathias and giving him a small nod that he was fine. He led Jack away from the transport around the side of the building out of sight of the others not sure what Jack wanted. In truth, they’d been avoiding each other, well Jack had been avoiding him at any rate, probably out of shame over what he’d done. “Ianto, I,” “It’s okay,” Ianto said. “There’s nothing to forgive. What happened, it’s not your fault.” “Yeah well, we’ll have to agree to disagree on that.” That Jack replied. “Look, Mathias…” he paused thinking how incredibly awkward this all was. He rubbed the back of his head. “He’s better for you, than I am.” Ianto stood there quietly, watching him. “I can’t, give you, what you want, what you need. I just, I wanted to tell you that I’m glad you have him and I hope that, I hope that when things go right…” “Thank you, Jack.” Ianto replied. “I do love you,” Jack said and he leaned in, brushing his lips against Ianto’s quickly forcing himself to pull away though he didn’t want to. There was nothing more that he wanted to do than push Ianto up against the side of the building, bodies pressed together in the heat of passion. For once however, Jack showed a measure of restraint. Mathias was good for Ianto, better than he was, much better. Jack was like poison to him, or at least that’s how he felt. “I’m sorry.” There were a lot of things that Ianto wanted to say to him but instead he just nodded, accepting it. He wasn’t angry with Jack for anything that had happened, before the shift, after. Jack was Jack, you had to take the good with the bad and sometimes… for all of Jack’s experience, for all his life and trials, for all his wisdom he was in many ways something of a child in some areas. It was just the different eras that they’d gown up in, the different mentalities and social structures. “Jack… what are you going to do about Rhys?” Ianto finally asked finding his voice again. “Gwen,” “Kill him,” Jack replied far to casually and in a tone that wasn’t entirely his own. He paused and blinked, looking back at Ianto. “Rhys? I don’t…” he shook his head. “I don’t know, I suppose that’s up to Gwen.” “Are you feeling okay?” Ianto asked reaching out and touching Jack’s arm. “I’m fine, why?” He smiled suddenly. “I can’t tell you how glad I am to have this back.” He tapped the leather band on his left wrist. “After, after so many years you feel naked without it.” He frowned suddenly. “You know, I don’t even…” he laughed. “How often can you say you honestly don’t know how old you are?” Jack shook his head. “I’ve,” “I do too, I just, wanted to say that.” Jack said with a nod. Why did things have to feel so awkward? He knew why, it wasn’t a mystery. He still wanted Ianto, as much as he ever did. He didn’t want Mathias to have him, just how he didn’t want Rhys to have Gwen. He loved them both, he wanted them both, but he wasn’t good for Ianto. What Ianto wanted, he couldn’t give him so what he’d told Gwen was correct. Plus after what he’d done at the Keep… he watched Ianto head back towards the transport and let out a long sigh. He couldn’t change what he’d done, and he refused to just excuse it because of some implants in his brain. He should have been strong enough to fight them, to know the truth and Gwen… what was he doing? She was married. Married to a good guy. He liked Rhys. He liked Rhys a lot and here he was, Jesus, what the hell was happening to him? “Jack?” “Doctor.” He said turning around and giving the Doctor a smile. “What can I do for you?” “The Master,” he said slowly. “It’s fine,” Jack replied. “Just don’t leave me in a room alone with him. I might actually,” he shook his head and leaned against the building. “I’m not right yet.” He said softly. “Something’s still… off.” “Because of Gwen?” The doctor said pulling out and odd little device from his pocket and using it to scan Jack, his face unreadable. He looked up and gave Jack a half smile. “You two weren’t exactly quiet.” Jack watched the Doctor’s face as he scanned him, reading something on the little machine that apparently only he could understand. He turned a dial and repeated the process more slowly. “I still get headaches,” Jack said. “They’re not as bad but, I never really got headaches before unless I was hungover.” His eyes looked away from the Doctor, focusing on Kas who was talking to Mick. The Doctor watched Jack’s eyes narrow slightly as he looked at Kas and Mick. His shoulders stiffened slightly and the corner of his mouth tensed slightly. Very subtle changes, but changes none the less. He made a mental note to keep his eye on it. “Whatever the Master had the twins put inside your brain Jack, it’s buried itself deep.” “That’s what G’Kar said.” Jack replied looking back at him. “They’ve locked together through every central cortex and center of your brain which is probably causing the headaches considering it’s a foreign object that shouldn’t be there. It appears that they tuned in to your biology to minimize the discomfort.” He slipped the devise back into his pocket. “There’s one other thing Jack.” “What?” He asked, fingering the bottle of painkillers in his pocket absently. He hadn’t taken one yet, he didn’t figure his head hurt quite enough for that. “There’s a low level current through them.” The Doctor said. “The chips have been destroyed and your body has absorbed them as is normal for you I’m assuming.” Jack nodded. “The tendrils however aren’t absorbing, they’re still very much alive.” He considered this for a moment and ran his hand over his mouth. “Let’s keep this between the two of us for now,” he said looking back at the Doctor. “It’s possible,” “It is possible that since they’re partially organic this is what’s setting off the readings and preventing your body from assimilating them. However,” “It’s not probable.” Jack finished and the Doctor nodded. “Considering what the Master told me about the take over, and the twins betrayal,” “There’s no knowing what the fuck they did to me.” Jack said again finishing. “If you think I’m becoming dangerous,” The Doctor nodded. “You have my word Jack.” “Thank you.” He walked away suddenly back towards the transport clapping his hands together and letting out a loud whistle. “Let’s pack up folks! It’s time to roll out! Mathias!” “Yes, sir?” Mathias asked coming around from in back of the transport. “You’re driving!” Jack headed towards the rear of the vehicle, and grabbed Ianto’s arm as he started to climb up into the bed. “You can ride shotgun with him.” Ianto paused looking at Jack somewhat surprised by this. Jack either drove, or rode in front, it was the way it had always been. After a moment he nodded and lowered himself back down to the ground. “Thank you, Jack.” Jack gave him a smile and a nod and turned back towards the buildings seeing Kara lead the Master towards them who looked utterly miserable in shackles. Jack’s right hand balled up into a fist and he took a deep breath, climbing up into the back of the transport silently taking a seat beside Gwen. Gwen’s hand slid to the side, her fingers wrapping in his and he leaned back against the side of the transport, closing his eyes, counting to one hundred. We are now officially on the road heading towards Manorbrier. The transport can stop from time to time which is fine. I know it sucks being trapped in small places, but use the time to catch up and rebond as a group. Next scene will be up sometime this weekend. |

“What did he want?” Mathias asked as he pulled the transport out from the gates, watching them slide shut behind them, Tiny giving them a wave. “Jack, when he wanted to talk to you.” Ianto leaned back in his seat feeling somewhat out of place in the front. He was either the one driving, or in the back. He never rode shotgun. “Just to talk.” There was a beat before he continued. “He wanted to apologize for what happened between us, back when he was, before I shot him.” The last three words tasted like acid in his mouth. “So he doesn’t,” Ianto reached over and took Mathias’s hand. “I’m with you. I made my choice, Mathias. I let him go. It doesn’t matter what he wants anymore, not about that.” Relief washed through Mathias like a tidal wave and he gave Ianto’s hand a squeeze swinging the vehicle south. The plan was simple really. Drive along the main roads keeping up the appearance of just another transport running it’s course until the reached the coast, then they’d cut to the more obscure side roads. He knew the area around Manorbrier well enough to know that there was more than one way to get to the castle, unfortunately Archer knew them as well and she had quite the head start. He was still debating which entrance would be the best to take, which one held the least risk. “Ianto, can I tell you something?” Mathias asked, his voice soft. Ianto frowned and turned to look at him. “Of course, you can tell me anything.” “I’m… very glad that I met you.” He said, his cheeks flushing slightly which was very unlike him. “You have reaffirmed my faith.” “How so?” Mathias paused, thinking for a moment. “There are times in ones life when one looks at the world and sees nothing but despair. Before you came into my life, I was coming to wonder if the things that Archer would whisper about at night were correct, that we must all start over from the beginning. I was beginning to wonder if the pain and suffering that we went through was truly worth it. So many dead, with no progress to show for it. So much unhappiness, so much fear and uncertainty.” He paused as he thought for a moment. “But then I saw you on the trail and…” he laughed and shook his head. “No, I cannot say that.” “Say it,” Ianto said with a kind smile. “Whatever it is, I promise I won’t laugh.” “When I saw you on the trail with Andrew, I knew that things had just changed.” He said. “That God’s plan was finally showing itself, and that… and that he had sent you to me. No, brought us to each other, to heal each other, to make the other stronger in the ways in which he was weak.” He glanced over at Ianto who was listening intently. “Not long before I met you, I had gotten word that the last of my family had died, butchered and put on display back in my hometown for resisting the Kindred. My younger sister, not but a child really and it was like… I lost hope.” He admitted. “I was simply…” “Going through the motions.” Ianto said. “I know what you mean. I did the same thing after Lisa died. I worked so long to save her and when she was killed, I felt so empty, like my entire reason for being was gone and all there was left was Torchwood. Only Torchwood, work, my duty.” Mathias nodded. “Yes. The fight no longer meant anything, until you reminded me that there were things worth fighting for.” He laughed, throwing his head back amused with himself. “That sounds,” “Fine,” Ianto replied with a small smile. He pulled Mathias’s hand up and kissed the back of it gently feeling a warm rush of affection through his body and Mathias let out a long breath, his body relaxing. “It’s going to be okay,” he said. “No matter what, it’ll be okay.” Mathias smiled. “As long as you’re with me, that’s all that matters.” |

Ianto/Mathias - The Long Road “Mathias I want you to know I’m sorry about your family. I can’t imagine how difficult it was for you.” Ianto said thinking about how many had died on this world in this timeline. Mathias smiled, “They are in a better place, I’m sure of it.” Ianto nodded, he agreed with Mathias in that regard, he saw what the Kindred did to people and death really was a better option, still it had to be hard for him. “You are my family now Ianto and that makes me happier then I’ve been.” Ianto blushed and smiled, Mathias was very sweet and wonderful, he liked having him here with him he made him feel safe and special. Ianto smiled at the thought, he knew he deserved better he just never saw it, and how he did, he was very lucky. The transport moved down the road with little interruption. Ianto still couldn’t believe that Jack had given up his normal seat so he could ride with Mathias. Ianto felt Mathias hand resting in his as they drove. Ianto looked out the window at the passing landscape it was a cool morning and the fog was still thick in places, so they were so going at times. “I want to hear about the place that you live.” Mathias said looking over to Ianto, who was looking out the window. He had managed to clean the suit and make further alterations to it so that it was fitting him almost like one of his own suits. Ianto smiled thinking then speaking, “It’s very different from here, people don’t know about aliens or other races most people focus on their own lives and don’t really care about much else.” “How can they not know, I’ve seen information that says that aliens have been here even before we were invaded and taken over.” Mathias said confused. “Well it was part of our jobs to make sure that information like that stayed secret until it was time.” Mathias thought for a moment watching the road, turning the wheel missing a rather large whole in the road. “That was what you did?” Ianto nodded, “We all did, Jack, Gwen, Andrew, Kas and now Mick.” Thinking about Tosh and Owen part of him wished they were here to see some of these things, but knowing that it is better that they weren’t. “And Jack was your leader?” Mathias asked. Ianto nodded, “more like a boss, then a leader, but it’s the same thing.” “And you supported him and the team.” Mathias said looking again at Ianto, Ianto looked at the dashboard then out the window. “Yep…that was what I did.” Mathias nodded. “You must have been very good at your job, because I see how good you are with detail.” Mathias said. Ianto shrugged, “I suppose.” “What about Cardiff? What was that like?” Mathias said looking in the mirrors making sure things were still going smoothly and that no one was behind them. “Nothing special, I mean it’s a large city for the most part, parts of it are really nice others not so much, like many places. Cardiff Bay is nice. I have a flat not to far form there.” Mathias smiled, “I bet it’s beautiful, all human, sounds nice.” Ianto smiled at him, “well you’ll get to see it. Plus I want to take you to my favorite restaurant.” Mathias smiled, it all sounded very nice, but he grew quiet and watched the road, none could be sure of the future and it was best to just focus on the here and now. “Everyone seems very happy to be back together and it was nice to meet all your friends.” Mathias said trying to focus on the here and now, which really was the best thing for now. Ianto nodded agreeing, “I think so, well except for the Master.” “Tell me again why he is aloud to live?” Mathias said still bitter over the situation. Ianto kissed his hand again, “I know Mathias, I’m sorry, but Jack and the Doctor need him alive, maybe the Doctor more then Jack, but we may need his help to find Dani and to stop what is going on.” Mathias clicked his tongue the explanation was sound and he agreed but still all the pain and suffering caused by the Master needed to be avenged. The Master had to pay, but Mathias expected that they all knew better then him. “The Master will pay for what he has done.” Ianto said looking at Mathias giving him a reassuring smile. Again they fell silent both thinking and watching the road. Ianto had various thoughts running in his head he was thinking about if Mathias would like of his home and his world, a world better then this, the world the way it should be. Part of him wondered and worried if he would adapt to the changes and how he would like living there. “What is the plan for getting to the castle?” Ianto finally said after several minutes of silence. “Well everything I know Archer knows, so it is a matter of coming up with something that she wont’ expect.” Mathias said still watching the road, he had been thinking the same thing would he be able to help them surprise Archer, he knew she would be expecting them, it was just getting there on their terms and surprising her that way. “When we stop we will need to talk with the others, it is not wise to plan without them.” Ianto nodded, Mathias was right of course they would need to plan together. |

Kas/Mick - The Past Kas sat next to Mick resting her head on his shoulder he smelled so good, they got a few looks from people this morning when they came out together, but it didn’t matter and no one said anything so that was nice. Of course everyone was so busy getting ready for the trip it wasn’t like they had time to sit and chat. The back of the transport was rather quiet everyone deep in their own thoughts. Jake was whining about it not being very comfortable, but she tried to tune him out. Kas thought of earlier, Mick had been so wonderful about her episode in the shower. She hadn’t meant to blurt it out, but these things happened and to her relief it didn’t scare him off so that was amazing. Still she couldn’t believe that he was willing to give up the military and be with her, her of all people, she wasn’t anything special, she was just her. Not sense…Kas sighed and Mick looked down at her, “everything ok.” Kas smiled and nodded. “Everything is perfect, I haven’t been happier.” She said resting her head back on his shoulder. 7 years ago “Marry me.” Antonio said on one knee looking up at her the rest of the restaurant vanishing away from them it was just her and Antonio, he looked amazing, never fussy looking, but still very stylish, that was just one thing she loved about him. “I’ve spoken with your father and he said I could ask you. Please Kasandra will you marry me.” Kas looked at him a huge smile filling her face she could never be happier then at this moment. Tears started to stream down her face. Antonio slipped the engagement ring on her finger. Kas was so happy she couldn’t speak all she could do was nod her head, every part of her body was staring to shake. Finally the words, “yes!” came out of her mouth. Antonio picked her up off the chair and spun her around hugging her tightly, she felt so safe and happy with him. The open air room filled with applause for the couple as the waiter brought over a bottle of Champagne. Kas still had tears coming down her face the night had been perfect. The moon was full and played softly with the sparkle of her makeup, the night air was warm and the smell of the ocean was in the air. Antonio had surprised her, completely surprised her. She couldn’t figure out why he was acting so strange the last several days, but now, now it all made sense. The couple sat back down as the waiter opened the Champagne and poured two glasses, “compliments of the house.” He said with a smile setting the two glasses down and leaving the bottle in the chiller for them to continue to enjoy. “Kasandra you’ve made me the happiest man alive.” Antonio said lifting up the glass. “To us.” Kas lifted her glass and smiled, “to the future.” The glasses clinked and they each took a sip. “How did you pull this off?” Kasandra said feeling her heart pounding in her chest. She looked around the restaurant and people were still smiling at them and pointing. Antonio smiled, “I had several helpers including your mother and father.” Kasandra smiled, “I’ll need to have a talk with mama about this.” Antonio smiled, “Don’t be too hard on her, she just wants you to be happy.” Kas took another sip of her Champagne. Antonio smiled and watched her, she looked perfect, she was everything that he wanted and needed in a wife, there really was no other option, nor did he need one, she was perfect. “I was thinking we could do a 16 month engagement to give you plenty of time to plan the wedding I want it to be perfect for you.” Antonio said still smiling. Kas thought for a moment as a couple walked up to their table. “My wife and I would like to congratulate you. I have instructed the staff that your meal is on me.” The tall man said smiling down at them. “We wish you both all the best.” The American woman said, the man had a more unique accent, Kas wasn’t sure where he could be from. Antonio stood up and quickly shook the well dressed man’s hand. “Thank you. I’m Antonio and this is, my soon to be wife, Kasandra.” Kas stood up and the man nodded and smiled, she reached out her hand and he took it and in all formality kissed the back of her hand and smiled. there was something very dark and mysterious about him, it could just be the evening, darkness always made people look different more then what they are. Kas flushed and said, “Thank you again that was very kind of you Mr…” he smiled, “Leeum, and this is my wife Fiona.” The red haired woman smiled, “Lee you’re always such a stuffed shirt. I still don’t know why I ever agreed to marry you.” She said with a smile looking up at him. Leeum picked off a piece of fuzz from his suit, “for the greater good, my dear, for the greater good.” Fiona laughed, “Ya right…that’s it. Come on ya goof, lets leave these people to the rest of their dinner.” Fiona looked at Kas and Antonio, “Congratulations again.” Leeum bowed his head and they walked off. “That was really nice.” Antonio said with a big smile. Kas nodded watching them reach a car with a lovely female driver, tall, beautiful, dark skinned, it was rare to see a female driver but something told Kas she was more then a driver, the woman saw Kas staring at her and simple nodded her head and smiled. “Interesting couple, not what one would expect.” Kas said sitting back done looking at Antonio he glanced to the car as it drove off, “It takes all types, my dear.” Kas smiled and said, “That it does, now what were we talking about?” Antonio smiled, “Dates we were talking dates.” Kas grinned. Present There was a sudden bump and Kas stirred she looked around the transport she must have dosed off. Her thoughts of that night so long ago causing her to frown, she tried not to think of her family or what had happened to them in this place. That night had been so perfect. Kas sighed. She needed to focus on setting things right, that was the past and there was nothing that could be done about that, it was best to let it stay in the past. |

Gwen leaned her head back against the transport, her hand in Jacks, listening to the throb of the engine reverbrating in the metal. Jack seemed tense, his hand squeezing hers, and Gwen wondered why, until she saw Kara leading the Master, his hands and legs in shackles. Jack was breathing steadily, but his body was rigid, and Gwen was worried he might up and throttle the Master. Not that Gwen would be particularly sorry for that. Gwen had woken up the morning after her night with Jack, a bit sore, but very satisfied. She had rolled over to discover Jack had gone, but thankfully he had left all her clothes behind this time, which granted wasn't much in the first place, but the gesture was appreciated. She had showered and dressed, being sure to clean off everything. True to his word, Jack hadn't come in her, at least not below the waist. But that was the key word, below the waist. Gwen was pretty sure she'd never get the taste out of her mouth. She had cleaned herself off, and redressed, borrowing a pair of Jack's pants, which were a little baggy, but wouldn't fall around her ankles at an inopportune moment. She had barely gone down the hall when Anya had found her, and told her The Doctor had arrived, brining Mick and Jake with him. Gwen had been exstatic to see them again, even Jake, though he hadn't been to happy to see her. Mick had quickly dissappeared with Kas, that had brought a smile to Gwens face, Kas was unusually stressed out, and Mick would help bring her down. The Doctor had introduced John Hart, a fellow who had once been Jack's partner, Gwen had at first been pleased to meet Hart, and possibly get some information from him about Jack, but hart seemed withdrawn, and Gwen didn't spend much time talking to him. Then word came that the Master had arrived. When Gwen first heard that a mob had been formed to kill him, Gwen had been half tempted to join in, but the Doctor had intervened, for what reason, Gwen couldn't fully fathom, but she supposed the Doctor must have a good reason for it. Now the Master was essentially thier prisoner, albeit a highly well-cared for prisoner, though Gwen doubted any of them would have gotten any better tratment if they had been his prisoner. Jake had whined constantly about being tied to a leash, and about Dani throwing herself into his bed to keep herself safe. Gwen wouldn't beleive Dani would do something like that, not without some external factor, but as Dani was missing, she could not find out. Kara led the Master into the transport, and for the first time, Gwen wished they were bringing more then one transport. As it was, Tiny and Andrew had worked to ake a cage inside the corner of the transport for him, so at least they could keep an eye on him. Looking at him, Gwen couldn't help but feel some pity, he had been on top of the world, only to be betrayed by the same monsters he had thought served him. He was unkempt, his suit rumpled and dirty, and he had five-o'clock shadow. All in all, he looked a lot worse then when Gwen had last seen him, when the combined technologies had sent them back to this mess in the first place. Kara locked him in the cell, where he sat, not moving, not speaking. A move Gwen thought was very wise, as she felt Jack might kill him, no matter what the Doctor said. As it was, Gwen gave Jack's hand a reassuring squeeze, and whispered to him that it was allright, that he couldn't do anything to him anymore. Jack was still tense, but he seemed to relax a bit more. Kas, Mick, John, Jake, Andrew, and the Doctor climbed aboard the transport, all the luggage was packed, supplies stowed. They were ready. Ianto and Mathias climed into the transports cab, and with a lumbering roar, the transport was off. Behind them, Gwen could see Anya, Jett, and the hulking figure of Tiny in front of the bases gates, waving them goodbye. Gwen was sorry they wouldn't have Tiny's strength, or Anya's stealth skills, but she had agreed that they would be better off at the base, defending the pregnant woman with the rest of the resistences. As the transport rumbled on, Gwen idly wondered what Ianto and Mathias were talking about. The cab was seperate from the rest of the transport, there was a small window connecting the two, but it was shut now, she couldn't be sure what they were talking about. She had guessed what must be going on between the two. It was complicated, Gwen knew. Their whole situation was complicated. Ianto loved Jack, but was sleeping with Mathias, Jack loved Ianto, but had chosen Gwen, and Gwen was married but was sleeping with Jack. Their life was like a bad soap opera. All they needed was for someone to develop amnesia. Gwen laughed aloud at the thought. The sound of her laughter seemed deafining in the quiet transport, and Gwen realized with a blush that no one had been saying anything. "What the hell is so funny?" Jake asked grumpily. Gwen realized everyone in the transport was staring at her, and she stammered, "N-nothing, nothing." "No, Gwen, whats so funny?" Kas asked, looking at her from her seat next to Mick. Kas's expression seemed...hostile, but Gwen was sure she was imagining it. "Really, it's nothing, don't worry about it." Gwen said, shifting in her seat uncomfortably. Jack must have sensed her discomfort, because he said, "Well, it's no use sitting here in silence, it's a long way to go from here to Manorbrier, why not liven things up with conversation." Gwen shot Jack a grateful look, as Andrew spoke up. "What can we talk about?" The Doctor cleared his throat, "I for one, would be very happy to hear what everyone has been up to, I know what Mick has done, and John, but what about Gwen and Kas? How exactly did they capture the old breeding facility? Or, Jake, how did you manage to escape from our charming guests clutches?" he jerked a tumb to the Master as he said this last part. Jake shifted at the attention, but soon enough, the back of the transport was alive with talk, ranging from what everyone had been doing, to the prophecies Jett had mentioned. There were few guesses from most of the others as to what it might mean, but they talked abou them anyways. Certain topics were omitted, Jacks behaivior before Ianto had shot him, for example, but for the most part, the group were able to entertain themselves for a bit by catching up on events that had passed since their arrival in this altenate timeframe. |

"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man whose gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!" | |

The Master stared at the Doctor from behind the dull grey bars of his cell. The Doctor was sitting outside the cell on an old wooden chair splattered with paint and grime, reading a tattered book he had found. The Master’s lip turned up in disgust. He was being babysat and it irked him. Still, he’d been the one stupid enough to seek help here. He should have known that he’d end up caged like a wild dog that raided the henhouse. His eyes bored into the Doctor’s face, and he wished he could kill with a stare. Damn him! He thought. He’s enjoying this. But he knew that wasn’t true. The Doctor was too goody two-shoes for that kind of emotion. The Master sighed heavily and sank back against the saggy cot. “We’re heading out today,” the Doctor snapped his book shut and pocketed his glasses. “We? You’re taking me with you?” the Master sneered. “Not leaving me here to rot?” The Doctor shook his head. “No, Master. After we find Dani, and we WILL find her, then I’m taking you with me on the TARDIS.” “Like a kept dog, eh?” the Master bristled. “I think not. I’d rather die.” “No, Master, you tried that before and you came back. This time I’m keeping a closer eye on you.” The Doctor paused, then blurted out, “Why did you come here? I mean, I know you’re all about self preservation, but you could have gone into hiding on your own. Why did you come to us, for help? To save Dani?” The Master barked cold laughter. “Oh, Doctor, you have such high hopes for my sanity and compassion, don’t you? “ “Well,” the Doctor said, rubbing his eye with his long, slender finger, “while that may be true, it doesn’t change the fact that you came here for a reason.” He stood up and walked to the cell, grasping the bars and looking in at the Master, who was seated on the cot with his back leaning against the damp concrete wall. “Do you love her?” The Master started to snarl a rude retort and instead surprised himself by stifling a choked sob. A horrified expression washed over his face. Had the Doctor noticed? Of course he had. Bugger noticed everything! Sod it! He expected to peer up at the Doctor and find him laughing at him. But he wasn’t. The Doctor just stood there, still, his kind eyes piercing through the bars and into the Master’s face. The Master wished he could gouge those eyes out. “Stop staring at me, Doctor, it’s rude.” The Doctor spoke in a tone filled with wonder. “You do love her. Despite yourself, you’ve fallen in love with her. That’s….that’s brilliant!” The Master said nothing, and turned his head away from the Doctor’s gaze. His eyes filled with wetness, and he couldn’t understand what was happening to him. What was this knot doing in his throat? Why was his stomach aching? He knew the answer as well as the Doctor did. Yes, he loved Dani. But he didn’t have to admit it. Least of all to the Doctor. The Doctor stepped away from the Master’s cell and sat back down, picking the book back up. He slipped on his glasses and pretended to read, but his mind was racing. He was happy that the Master was finally feeling some decent emotion, but he was upset at the same time. Did Dani love the Master back? If so, he was heartbroken. How many times had the Doctor imagined that he and Dani might someday find themselves a couple? It had been hundreds of years since he had seriously contemplated getting married and having children again, but he felt with Dani that now would be the right time. She was wonderful. They understood each other completely. He loved her so deeply; he himself couldn’t even fathom the depths. He’d go to any length to protect her. Would he now have to give her up to protect her heart? And his? He remembered a time when Dani had held him close, teasing him about how skinny he was, and he had stifled the impulse to kiss her. He had stifled a lot of those impulses. But why? It seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but now it seemed ludicrous. I’m sorry, Dani, he thought. I’m so sorry. The Doctor grimaced in agony. Being sorry now wouldn’t stop her loving the Master. A bitter tear ran laughing all the way down his cheek. |

Jack stared at the Master trying his best to keep his temper in check. He was finding that it was one of the side effects to what had been done to him. His anger was closer to the surface than normal, harder to keep under control. He felt Gwen’s hand in his, felt her give it a squeeze and he let out a long breath. After a moment, he let go of her arm, draping his arm over her shoulders and she leaned against him. Jack kissed the top of her head. “Awe, how bloody sweet.” John chimed in. “Remind me to take a photo.” “What are you doing here?” Jack asked looking at him, feeling a rush of anger remembering when he’d tried to kill Gwen, well kill all of them. “I came here for you.” John said. “No you didn’t,” Jack replied. “You came here for something else. Something that I have, that you want. This wasn’t a sentimental trip.” “Oh,” John said covering his heart in mock pain. “You wound me dear Captain.” He waited for Jack to smile but when it didn’t come he shrugged. “You’ve got a Vorian Lockmanipulator in the HUB.” He finally admitted. “Is that all?” Jack asked. “Okay, AND the Cytrol Crystal.” John said, the corner of his mouth twitching irritated. “After the treasure?” Jack asked with a chuckle. “It’s just a myth.” “All myth is based in fact,” the Doctor chimed in. “These are a little tight,” the Master said. “Anyone care to be a gentleman and loosen them a bit? Doctor?” “I don’t think,” “Where am I going to go?” The Master asked. “I came to you, remember? I choose to be here.” He shook his head. “All that brilliance and so bloody stupid.” His head snapped back, slamming into the side of the transport as Jack’s fist connected with his face. “Jack, NO!” Gwen yelled jumping on his back as he took another swing. “JACK! IANTO!” “I got him!” John said throwing Gwen aside and tackling Jack, wrestling him down to the ground. “Just like, old, times,” he grunted as they struggled, exchanging blows as they rolled over the floor together in a heap. He grabbed Jack by the hair and slammed the back of his head onto the floor hard. “You’re sexy when you’re angry.” He said with a smile letting go of Jack’s head. “Fuck you,” Jack snarled snapping his head forward into John’s mouth cutting John’s lip on his teeth, blood running down John’s chin. His arms suddenly reached around John, their lips crushing together. Now the struggle turned to dominance until Gwen grabbed the back of John’s shirt, pulling him off of Jack with Kara’s help. “This isn’t the time,” Gwen said. “You had your turn sweetheart,” John chimed. Jack sat up, wiping John’s blood off his chin and then pulled out the bottle of pills from his pocket, tossing two into his mouth swallowing them dry. Ianto’s face appeared in the window of the door that connected the cab to the back. “What’s wrong?” There was concern in his voice. “We can’t really stop…” “It’s fine,” Jack said returning to his seat. “I just… it’s fine, Ianto. Just get us there.” Ianto’s eyes narrowed noting the bruise on the Master’s face, the blood on John’s chin and the clear signs of a struggle. It still wasn’t Jack, their Jack, sitting back there. He grew more and more certain of it as time went on. It was maybe 90% their Jack, 10% something else. “The chips are gone,” Kas said looking at the Master. “The ones you put in his head.” Silence filled the transport for a moment before she spoke again. “What did you do to him?” Jack sat silently, Gwen’s hand in his lap holding his hand in hers. The Master shrugged. “I needed a right hand, someone that would be loyal and do what I needed to do, and who better than someone who can’t die?” He looked at Jack. “I’m not sorry, I only regret it didn’t work better. You were quite the ally Jack, strong, dependable, aggressive…” “Someone shut him up,” Jack said, his voice tight. “Before I shut him up.” “The chips ran in connection with living filaments that imbedded into your brain, solidifying the changes to what I wanted and also making you… controllable from a distance, like antennas I suppose. Quite brilliant if I do say so.” The Master said with a pleased smile. Jack’s hand tightened around Gwen’s and he leaned his head back against the side of the transport again, closing his eyes, his mind going elsewhere. OOC: Short I know... writer's block, one track mind and obsession... NOT a good combination... but I had to get SOMETHING up. |

Ianto et al - On The Road Ianto rested his head against the headrest as they drove down the road; things had again quieted down in the back of the transport. He watched as the landscape drifted by, parts of it didn’t look very different in fact you would never know what was going on here, it all seemed so normal. “Hey eye-candy how about some air back here.” John said peaking his head through the window forcing Ianto out of his self meditation. Ianto nodded and flipped a switch turning the air up. They could her the air turn up as John nodded, “Well done, I always knew you were more then a pretty face.” Ianto turned and looked at him, “Get bent John.” Ianto said looking at him, not really happy to have him with them, but knew that he would come in handy, he always did, which was rather annoying. “Always so feisty eye-candy…is he like that in the sack Blondie? Or have you tamed him some?” Mathias looked quickly at John then back out the front window and found the first bump in the road and hit it full throttle causing John to hit his head on the top of the transport with a painful sounding thump. “Maybe you should stay seated.” Mathias said with a satisfied smile. John rubbed the top of his head, “alright…no need to get testy.” Ianto looked over at Mathias smiling. Mathias gave him an angelic smile, “it was an accident.” Ianto laughed and smiled, “yep…right.” Mathias winked at him. Ianto looked out the window the day was quickly moving long, they were moving slow, but steady and that was all they could do. The morning fog changed to a hazy early afternoon sun. “We will need to stop at some point, no matter what Jack says, it’s a long drive and we can’t do it all in one stretch. Mathias looked out at the sky and the well lit road, “I want go as far as we can as quickly as we can, before night.” Ianto nodded, “I understand, but it does us no good if everyone is too stiff to move.” Mathias nodded, “we’ll stop at nightfall.” Ianto looked over his shoulders at the others then back to Mathias, “Alright.” Gwen popped her head through the window, “How’s it going up here?” Ianto nodded, “Good, how’s Jack.” Gwen shrugged, “He seems alright, for the moment. From what the Master said there is no telling what side effects from those implants he will get.” Ianto turned and looked at her, “violent temper is one we’ll have to watch him for others.” Gwen smiled, “pain as well, he is still taking the pain meds that G’Kar gave him.” “Right that’s two.” Ianto thought for a moment about telling her about his conversation with the Doctor, but he thought better of it for the time being. It wasn’t that he was keeping secrets from her, it had more to do with them both trusting Jack, that would be important to the others. If they showed faith in him then the others would as well. Gwen looked at Mathias driving then back over at Ianto, “do we have a plan yet.” “We’ll stop at nightfall so everyone can rest-up I figure we can all plan then. I’m sure the Doctor and Jack will have various plans they’ll want to go over.” Gwen smiled, “no doubt.” Gwen ran her fingers through her hair looking at Ianto thinking for a moment before speaking, “about before…” Ianto smiled cutting her off, “there will be time for that later, right now we need to focus.” Ianto wanted to cut her off, now was not the time or the place to have a one-to-one talk. There were way more important things going on. Gwen put her hand on Ianto’s shoulder, “latter then.” She went back and sat with Jack. Whose eyes were still shut. Ianto watched them in the rear view mirror he shook his head. Gwen was a big girl and could make her own choices, but sleeping with Jack well still with Rhys’ that wasn’t right no matter how you justified it, he always thought her judgment was a bit poor, first Owen and now Jack all the time with Rhys. Rhys who had given up so much for her, it was very selfish of her, that was something Ianto couldn’t do, it wasn’t in him, he was loyal to a fault, even letting Jack go, there was still a certain amount of guilt there. Ianto went to look away from the mirror and caught a glimpse of Kas; she was watching Jack and Gwen very carefully, almost obsessively from the looks of it. There was no expression on her face either which Ianto found very odd. Then she caught Ianto’s eyes in the mirror and smiled at him, her face changing at once. He smiled and ooked away from the mirror and looked out the window. The stress was starting to get to them all, he thought. |

Kas et al - Talking “Doctor how difficult will it be to undo the damage that the Master caused?” Kas said looking at the Doctor who was sitting next to the Master, Kas really didn’t care what the Master thought of her nor did she worry about what he may or may not do to her. The Kindred were more of a threat then him at this point. The Doctor smiled at her taking off his glasses and putting them away, “well once we clean up whatever we have to here, then it will be a simple matter of using the TRADIS and stopping the past events from happening then things should go back to the way they were, and no one, except us, will any the wiser.” He said with a smile, the actual process was much more complicated, but after spending time with Mick he figured a simple answer would be best. He knew he tended to give too much information at times like these and figured the simplest answer was the best, especially for all these people, not that they weren’t all intelligent, but it had to do with not having them have to worry about how to do everything perfectly right, or things could get messy. “Come now Doctor, nothing is that easy.” The Master said smiling at them all, he was enjoying this, he still got to watch the Doctor suffer and that was some payoff for his efforts, and whose to say they will be able to fix everything. Mick looked over at him, “I don’t believe anyone was talking to you. So, why don’t you just sit there and drink a nice tall glass of ‘shut the fuck-up’”. Mick said glaring at the man, he like everyone else pretty much wanted the Master dead, he was only going along with this because of the chance that they might need him. The Master again just smiled but said nothing he would bide his time. The Doctor looked at Mick understanding his annoyance with the Master, but would have preferred him showing it in another fashion. “I just hope things get worked out.” Andrew said looking at them all. Andrew had been quiet for the most part. “We all do Andrew. I think with all of us working together, and now that Jack is with us, I’m sure things will all work out.” Kas said with a bright smile looking at Jack then to Andrew and the others. Andrew nodded and looked at the group. Kas looked back to Jack smiled and looked up at Mick who she was resting against, “I know this isn’t the time or the place, but did you mean what you said this morning?” Mick grinned, “I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t.” Kas leaned in and kissed him, it was a sweet kiss. “Thank you.” Kas said. Mick smiled, “No thank you, if it wasn’t for you I would have missed all this excitement.” Kas couldn’t help but laugh, she could tell he was being sarcastic and funny. It made her smile. “I think when this is over, I’m going to take some time off and go home.” Kas said talking to Mick the others had broken down into other conversations that she wasn’t listening to, she continued, “If you want to come, you are more then welcome.” Mick thought for a moment, “Spain sounds great; I would love to see it with you as my personal guide.” Kas nodded, she thought of her parents meeting Mick, would they like him? Of course they would she smiled inwardly. “There really are some fantastic sites and the beaches, can’t be topped.” Kas said fondly thinking of home, her real home not the one that was here, God only knows what that place is like, she didn’t want to think of it, then she said, “Plus I’m looking forward to seeing you in one of our Spanish swim suits.” She gave him a wicked little smile. Mick thought for a moment then smiled, he wasn’t sure what she had in mind. The Master smiled at the two of them, “You know Kasandra, I took special care with your family, seeing as they were so well connected, even back then, alas, I had to have them all killed, I guess it would be what your grandfather; he was a very stubborn man. It was a pity, I could have used him.” Kas looked over to the Master who was smiling. “How dare you!” She screamed at him. “Enough!” The Doctor said in a commanding voice causing everyone to look at him, “Master you will be quiet or we’ll silence you. Kas, dear, remember that if we’re successful, and we will be, none of this will matter.” The Doctor said assuring her and the others. “This timeline will never have been and the things that happened here will never have been. Please keep that in mind.” Kas nodded sitting back against Mick she had been poised to attack the Master. Everyone got quiet again, Kas wasn’t sure what they were thinking about, but she had a feeling it was all about family and people who might in this world and those that might not be. “I can’t wait for this to be over and to go home.” Kas said looking at the others, but not really looking at anyone. |

Jake MacReady looked in the rearview mirror and scowled. Like everybody else, he had his own personal grudge with the Master, but it his case, it was far more personal. It was as personal with him as it was with Jack. Everyone else had been affected by the Master in a roundabout way. But the Master had personally fucked with him and with Jack. When this was all over, he and Jack would give the Master the ultimate payback. The doctor be damned. The doctor had been real adamant against violence against the Master...But HE hadn't been chained up, had he? HE hadn't been treated like a fucking dog. But Jake had....Oh yes he had. And if The Doctor thought the Master could just bukkakke Jake MacReady, he had another thing coming. Then afterwards, Jake would take the Master's cooling corpse back to the Funeral Home. Jake was bi, and more straight than gay, but the prospect of assfucking the Master's corpse was just too vivid a fantasy to pass up. Violating the bastard who'd chained him up and then walked off to fuck the Doctor's skinny piece of ass was rthrilling. Jake put his hands in his lap to cover up the swelling erection. Kas said, "Everything alright Jake?" Jake looked over at her. Major dick...Er...Major MICK had his arm wrapped around her. She had a glow that only can be achieved by a night of sex. Obviously she and Major Lick...Er...Mick had made up for lost time. Jake said, "I'm fine. Nothin' you got to worry about. Just a little irritated with our newfound friend here." He looked at the Master who gave him a look of contempt. Jake said, "It's pretty sad when you come along and manage to be a bigger asshole than i am. Because I'm pretty good at it." Kas and Mick exchanged a glance. Mick eyed MacReady. He did have a point. When it came to being an asshole, MacReady had it down to a fine science. He wondered if he went home and practiced it in front of his bathroom mirror. He must do SOMETHING like that. The Master just smiled smugly at Jake. Jake's erection was as hard as ever, thinking. He said, "Every dog has his day, Master....Every dog has his day." Jake turned around, hot. He didn't know what pissed him off more. The fact that the Master had done what he did, or the fact thaty he'd had high hopes on a partnership that had evaporated into nothing. Maybe a mix of both. Every doggie has his day.... Jake scratched his erection and looked unhappily out the window. Mick watched him for a moment longer. Kas said, "I still don't entirely know what to make of him." Mick said, "He's an asshole through and through. don't ever kid youself into thinking otherwise." He looked out the window and then at Kas. He said, "How good are you at coverups?" Kas said, "I'm pretty good. Why?" Mick said, "Because before I can start finalizing my exit strateg, I'm going to have to report to General Omar, and I don't have a clue as to what to tell him went down." Kas said, "I'll help you. I guess a lot will depend on what the Doctor does. Depends on how much he can fix." Mick said, "It's an amazing talent he has, if he's able to square all of this. I just hope he doesn't square too much. I don't want to end up like Linda Fiorentino in Men in black and not remember you." Kas chuckled and put her head under his chin. She said, "It won't be THAT bad, I'm sure." Mick fell silent, loving the feel of her in his arms. He leaned his head back against the glass and closed his eyes. |

All - Bunking Down The night was cooler and the overcast a blessing. The Kindred did not travel in this type of weather by flight so their location for the night would be secure or as secure as it could be in this place. The trip was for the most part uneventful and now everyone was trying to relax. They had built a small fire and had eaten a light supper. The only one in chains was the Master the Doctor had insisted that he be let out with the others. Jake and Jack wanted him to spend the night in the transport in the cage, but finally gave in to the Doctor, the Doctor agreed to the chains, only after the insistence of everyone. Mick watched Mathias and Ianto sitting next to each other in much the same way he and Kas were sitting. Mick didn’t have a problem with gay people, but the site was still something he wasn’t completely used too. “Mathias how far do we have to go?” Mathias thought for a moment his hand lazily resting on Ianto’s shoulder, his head resting on him. “We’ll be there tomorrow.” Kas adjusted in her seat squeezing a little closer to Mick, “How’re we going in?” Ianto looked at the others, “That is something we all need to figure out.” Over the next several hours they made their plans and decided on the best way to get in, as Ianto had figured both the Doctor and Jack had very strong opinions on what their plan of attack would be. “Doctor you don’t seem to under how powerful these Kindred are, not to mention the Elite.” Jack said looking at him Gwen sitting next to him looking over a map of the area. “Jack, I’m aware of the situation, but if Dani is there…” The Master chinned in, “They’ll use her against all of you. Of course that is assuming she is there, and I’m not convinced she is.” Jack shot the Master a deadly look, which he ignored and continued speaking. “The Kindred or their Elite Brothers and Sisters would not put all their eggs in one basket, so to speak.” Ianto sighed, the Master was probably correct, that would be a tactical mistake, but still maybe. “But they might and we need to make sure that if she is there, we take that into account.” The Doctor said cleaning off his glasses thinking of Dani worried for her. “How do we know that Dani isn’t all fucked up like Jack was?” Jake said looking at the others, “She sucked off the Master fucking him when she could to save her pretty little ass, why not do the same with the Elite or Kindred…I wouldn’t put it passed her.” Mick looked at him with an anger glare, “I hate to admit it, but he does have a point…no matter how crass.” Even Kas looked at him with a strange look on her face. Mick shrugged, “we have to figure out all the angles, and that is possible.” Ianto shook his head, “No, getting cozy with the Master is one thing, but the Elite or the Kindred, no way…not Dani. She saw what they did on the farm that is something you don’t forget.” Ianto said 100% sure of himself, not Dani she wouldn’t do that, thinking of the farm then he remembered, “Plus aren’t the Kindred poisonous to humans.” The Master nodded, “correct that’s why I created the Elite.” “OK so this Dani isn’t snogging the Kindred, what abut the Elite.” John said looking at the others. Ianto shook his head, “No not possible…not Dani.” John looked, “and how do you know eye-candy. How can you be so sure?” Ianto glared at him, “I just am.” The Master tended to agree with Ianto although he wasn’t sure if it was his own jealousy or not. “The Kindred and the Elite wouldn’t allow that to happy anyway. They hate the humans. The Kindred would sooner eat her then use her in that manner.” The Doctor looked at him, “Charming thought Master.” The Master raised his eyebrows and shrugged. Kas shook her head, “This is getting us no where, I happen to agree with Jack, Dani, if she is there is smart enough to know to take care of herself.” Kas said looking at Jack with a smile, she knew he was right, he had the best plan there was no doubt in her mind. Her arm started to tingle again and she rubbed it absently looking at him. “Fine, why don’t we combine the plans.” Gwen said looking at the others, looking up from the map. Gwen went over the parts of each plan and between her and Andrew they came up with a plan that combined the two that seemed feasible to everyone. They finalized the rest of the plans to everyone’s satisfaction going over the details one last time. “We should get some rest.” Mathias said, “We still have a long drive in the morning.” Andrew looked at the others stocking the fire, “I’ll take first watch.” Kara looked at him, “I’ll join you.” Andrew nodded accepting the offer, as everyone made their ways to their collective sleeping areas, there was no room for tents in the transport, so they were all sleeping out in the open, it was cold but not bitter cold still they would need to sleep together to stay warm. Jake looked at the group watching people pair up, “Fucking brilliant. Kas and Mick are together, Ianto and Sven or whatever are together, Jack and Gwen, Kara and Andrew, the Master and Doctor…why am I stuck on my own. Fucking sucks ass.” Ianto looked at Jake, “Not true there’s John and he’s not nearly as fussy as the rest of us.” He had to stifle a laugh. Kas had to look away to keep from laughing. “Bloody hell that was a low blow eye-candy, not like you at all.” John said looking at the others then continuing, “Jack come on…for old time’s sake? You, Me and Gwen…could be fun” Gwen looked at him, “Fuck that…I’m not sleeping with you or Jake for that matter.” “Eye-Candy…Ianto you and Mathias…the things I could teach you…what do you say.” Mathias looked at John, “Sie bezüglich eines Arschlochs. Kein danke.” Ianto started to laugh. “Oy, Eye-Candy…what he say?” Ianto looked at Mathias gave him a wink and turned to John, “Means…’NO’.” Jake looked at John and John looked at Jack. John raised his eyebrows and looked at the others; everyone had stopped what they were doing and watched the two of them. “Oh fuck no.” Jake said. John looked at him, giving him the once over, “I’ve had worse. Come on Porky…I’ll be gentle.” Jake looked at the others, giving up the fight it was either that or potentially freezing his nuts off all night. “See it all worked out.” The Doctor said smiling, even he enjoyed the idea of John and Jake having to sleep together to keep warm. Ianto and Mathias found a spot and rolled out the blankets, Ianto and Mathias worked to make the ground as clean as possible so there were no rocks or other things on the ground. They were all still close to the fire, everyone just really needed a place to stretch out more or less. “I have to say I did enjoy that.” Mathias said softly so only Ianto could hear, him. Ianto smiled pulling off his shoes and belt then climbed under the blankets, “It was priceless.” They heard John over with Jake the two of them fussing. “Just remember to keep your fucking hands to yourself.” They heard Jake say, “right…like that will be a thrill.” John said, you could hear the sarcasm in his voice. Mathias crawled under the blankets with Ianto and rested his head on his chest as the two cuddled up nest to each other. Mathias had kept his weapon close, just in case it was needed. The area was secure enough and they had not seen any animals or other creatures still it was good to have a watch set-up for the night. Kas and Mick also found a spot near the transport where they could lay out. Mick checking his gun making sure the safety was still on and it was loaded. Kas smiled, “old habits.” Mick smiled looking at the weapon, “Insurance…just in case.” Kas nodded. Mick helped her with the blankets, moving the few rocks out from under them. He had survival experience for this type of environment, but he never had as lovely a bunk mate as Kas. Mick took off his boots and crawl under the blankets and Kas quickly joined him she tied her hair up so it wouldn’t get too messy during the night, she knew there would be no showers anytime soon, she just hopped the Mick could handle waking up next to her not at her best by a long shot. “How do you think they’ll do?” Mick said after hearing John and Jake. Kas smiled, “I’m sure they’ll be fine, I just can’t wait to see how they wake up together…somehow I can’t imagine John keeping his hands off all that.” Mick started to snicker, he didn’t care for Jake, that was clear and John wasn’t one of his favorite people either, but still even to him, it seemed like cruel and unusual punishment. “It will be interesting.” Kas nodded and snuggled next to him, resting her head on him. Andrew walked over to them, “Mick, can you and Kas take next watch.” Kas nodded, “no problem. About 2 hours.” Andrew nodded, “right then…get some rest.” He said and walked over to the fire where Kara was sitting stocking the flames again. Soon enough all the conversation and fussing about became either to quiet to hear or people had drifted off to sleep. Ianto laid there next to Mathias hearing his heavy breath, he was worried about Dani, she was alone and they had no idea where she was or what they had done to her, not to mention what they might do to her or even if they would find her again. “You’re worried.” Mathias said softly. Ianto nodded, “I am.” He said with a soft sigh. “We will find her I promised I would help you find all your friends, not just some.” Mathias said his German accent somewhat less as Ianto was getting used to it. “Thank you.” Ianto said. He felt Mathias hold him tighter. “Now get some rest.” Mathias said in a somewhat commanding tone. “Yes Sir.” Ianto said with a laugh. He felt Mathias kiss the top of his head, he felt so safe, it was wonderful. |
