Supreme Goddess Of All Things Bright And Shiny
Jack stood out at the bay, looking out over the water. He was feeling better now, his headache had receded back to almost nothing but he thought it had probably had to do with the fact that he hadn’t been thinking about anything in particular during his walk. He’d just put one foot in front of the other.

Squatting down, he dipped the tips of his fingers into the clear water, watching the ripples and he let out a long breath closing his eyes. This wasn’t right, he knew that. What was happening, wasn’t right. He needed to fix it. He needed to make things right. The ultimate plan, it wasn’t, it wasn’t right. I wasn’t the will of God, it couldn’t be. Could it? His plan for him? It couldn’t be… Jack shook his head shaking off the beginning of a headache. I’m not planning anything, he told himself. It’s just thoughts, and they don’t hurt anyone.

It didn’t help though.

Resting his elbows on the water he lost his gaze over the horizon. There were things that he just didn’t understand. Things about himself. Things about the plan. Ianto and Gwen, he loved him, he did, even after what they’d done to him… to Gray… didn’t he? He closed his eyes, thinking of Ianto’s scent, the feeling of Gwen’s body against his, the way that he’d wanted to grab Ianto, pulling him away from Mathias like a jealous lover, the overwhelming desire to get Gwen… why would he want those things if they were evil?

The easy answer was that it was temptation. Something to drive him away from his mission. That’s what Kas would say, what Nina and Devon would say. That’s what he told himself but in the same breath, that just felt, well, wrong.

Jack’s biggest problem was that he knew the answers, but they were starting to ring hollow to him, meaningless. Even when he was with Kas, no when he was with Kas it was so right, so perfect and just the thought of it made his pants a little tighter. It was after, after they were apart, when he was alone with his thoughts that things didn’t feel right about it. Something just felt… off.

Was it just a crisis of faith?

He wasn’t entirely sure, but whatever it was, it was making him feel like two halves to a whole battling it out for control. Jack’s thoughts drifted over his past, over the hundreds and perhaps even millions of years he’d been alive trying to remember when it had been, when exactly it had been that this whole… religious aspect… this fanaticism, had taken hold of him. He hadn’t grown up this way… so when? It seemed so natural, so ingrained into who and what he was but at the same time, it just didn’t fit.

A lot of things didn’t fit.

He let out a long breath standing up. He knew what he needed to do. He needed to talk to the Doctor. He was a good man. He’d help him. Wait, if he was good, why was he locked up? Why…Jack shook his head again losing his train of thought.

Wiping his hands off on his slacks he turned and headed back towards the tower and the HUB. He needed to talk to Nina about these bloody headaches. He couldn’t live the next hundred million years with them.

OOC: Short I know... but hell of a day today!

The truck rumbled on, Ianto fairly putting his foot thru the bottom of the truck. The landscape sped by. The attackers had backed off, but there was no guarantee they would stay gone, and their ammunition wouldn't last forever.

Gwen made herself busy tending to the injured, in spite of her own weariness. Kara was up front with Ianto, to keep an extra watchful eye in case there were anymore traps lying on the road.

Gwen grabbed some bandages and gauze from the first-aid kit in the back, and tended to Mick first. His leg was bleeding, his exertion had torn the clotted mass of blood over his wound, and there was dirt pressed in the wound.

Gwen took a bottle of iodine, and wetted a cloth with it. "This is gonna sting, soldier boy, so hang tough."

Mick nodded, his face pale. "Just get on with it."

Gwen applied the cloth to his leg, and he hissed thru his teeth, "Motherfucker!"

"Whats the matter, R. Lee Ermy?" Hart chuckled in the seat across, "Can't take your medicine?"

Mick said nothing, just casually flicked Hart off.

Gwen looked at Hart, "I wouldn't be laughing, your next."

"Bah, it's only a flesh wound." Hart said, shifting in his seat.

"Regardless, when I'm done with him, you're next, mate." Gwen insisted. She took the now blood soaked rag off Mick's leg, and threw it in a bag they used for trash. She took a clean bandage, covered his wound with it, and wrapped some gauze around it. She fastened it with a paper clip she found in the medkit.

Next she turned her attention the the lump on his head. "You got lucky here, it just grazed your head, though it left a cut. It's not bleeding heavily, but better safe then sorry." Gwen applied more iodine, and wrapped Mick's head with a bandage. "Leave it on until it clots, and you should be fine, but let us know if you suffer any dizzyness, ok?"

"Got it, thanks Gwen."

"No problem, now for you, Mr. Hart." Gwen said, turning her attention to John. He was bleeding from several cuts on his head, and he had a good sized lump growing on his forehead.

Hart grinned. "Always knew you wanted to check me out, love, now you have the perfect excuse."

"Calm down, buddy, you're not injured, except for your swollen head, and even that looks fine. Now keep your bloddy hormones in check while I wrap you up." Gwen said, not in the mood to deal with Hart. She repeated her treatment, chuckling to herself at the yelp of pain he let out when she applied the iodine, and smeared an ointment on the lump on his forehead.

"The lump should fade in a few days, and you'll be back to your ugly self soon enough." Gwen said, shutting the medical case.

John put his hand over his heart. "Shot thru the heart, I die, I die."

"Don't get our hopes up." Ianto called form the front seat.

Gwen flopped down on the seat next to Mick, ignoring the aches and pains from her back and ribs. She hadn't been hit at all during the attack, but it was a near thing. They had primitave weapons, but they wielded them with great skill. Gwen had barely shot one that had gotten to close to her with a knife.

"Those wildmen," Gwen said, thinking as she spoke, "They're great fighters, even with bow and arrow. Any chance we could ask if they wanted to fight with us? We are after the same thing, aren't we?"

"Oh, thats rich, sugartits." John sneered, "You wanna enlist the aid of people who just brained us with great bloody rocks!"

"She has a point though, if we could get them on our side, it might be of help." Ianto put in, as Gwen kicked John in the shins.

"The wildmen would not help us." Kara said, "They are loners, nomadic people who have no alliegence and carve out a living in the plains and wastelands of the world."

"There must be somehting we could do to get them on our side." Mike put in, some color returning to his cheeks.

"I doubt it, they do not seem to care about The Master or the Kindred, and the Master generally left them alone. The wildmen have no great love for the Master, but neither do they hate him."

"So, then its just the five of us after all." Gwen said. The thought didn't fill her with much confidence, but they would have to do, for there was no one else to do it.

As they drove, Gwen and Mick took stock of their supplies. They had some food, and the medkit, and they all still had their guns, but little ammo. Mick only had one and a half clips, Gwen had two full, Ianto had one, Kara was out, and Hart had two. Not much, not even enough to fend of another full scale attack.

"Hey Ianto, pull over real quick!" Gwen said, a sudden inspiration flashing to her.

"Are you allright?" Ianto asked, still not stopping.

"I'm fine, just stop the car." Gwen said.

Ianto hit the brakes, and Gwen hopped off the back of the transport. She scanned the ground, until she found was she was looking for. She scooped up a small pile of stones, and a bundle of fallen branches, and took them back to the transport.

"The hell are those for?" Mick asked, a sIanto started the transport again.

"These," Gwen said, throwing the sticks and rocks on the floor, "Are for making spears."
"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man whose gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Ianto et al - The Mines

Ianto walked to the front of the truck, “That’s Cardiff?” He said looking down at his one time home in amazement. Mick nodded, “I’m afraid so. I didn’t recognize it at first.” Gwen shook her head, “Bloody Master.” Kara shrugged, “it looked exactly like what she thought it was. The Shinning Citadel was the tallest building right next to the bay and rest was what it was.

“Well if you ask me, I like the changes.” John said looking at them all. “Good thing we weren’t asking you then.” Ianto said. It looked like something out of a nightmare, some dark shadow of its former self. Mick looked through the binoculars, “There’s not a human in site. When we were here last there were humans about. What do you think happened to them?” He said moving them away. Gwen looked, “I have no bloody clue. But I know we’re not going to walk in and announce ourselves.”

Ianto nodded, “point taken.”

“So a direct assault if off the table, how do we get from here into there?” Mick said adjusting himself on the rock he was sitting on. “No idea.” Ianto and Gwen said in unison.

“Brilliant!” John said annoyed, “We get here and no one has any idea how to get down there or into the city. If you ask me, which you haven’t, I vote we go back to the base, that Gwen and Kas managed to secure and figure out what to do from there.”

“We don’t have time.” Gwen said.

“Not to mention the fact that Kas knew about that place and she might have given it up.” Ianto said looking at the others. Not really happy with that thought. Kara looked at him, “No, she was too focused on other things. I don’t think the base was part of her programming.” Kara said there looking out over the city, she was studying it through her binoculars, watching the coming and goings studying everything.

“Why don’t we find a place to hold up, hide the transport and go from there.” Mick said, knowing that they needed time to devise a plan doing anything a half assed would only get them killed. Ianto nodded, “Right.” Gwen nodded and everyone made there way bake to the transport. “There are some old mines, there were used in the war, they should still be around and we can use that for the time being.” Gwen said looking at the others.

“Charming.” John said as he helped Mick up into the transport.

“Well it’s better then nothing.” Ianto said. Gwen looked at him, “You know the ones, right Ianto.” Gwen asked. “yep.”

“Good” Gwen said getting into the transport. Ianto started the engine and headed off. They got to the mines in short order. They were barely visible and would offer a decent amount of cover and they were only a few miles from the edge of town. Gwen and Kara jumped out and cleared some of the brush so Ianto could drive in farther and hide the transport.

“Well that gets us within about 4 miles of the edge of town.” Ianto said looking at Gwen as they started to unload the transport. “Better then nothing.” Mick said as he hobbled over to some over turned boxes and sat down. Kara smiled, “I’m going to check things out see how secure we are.” She said as she picked up her one of the spears and checked her weapon. “Be careful.” Gwen said looking at her. Kara nodded and walked off. Ianto, John and Gwen finished unloading the rest of the supplies from the transport and started to get things set-up so they could plan there next move.

(OOC: OK, this is crap I know. As you know I’ve been sick but I wanted to get us to Cardiff and we are now there. We even have a nice little place that will keep us safe for the time being.)

May it be said, when the sun sets on your life, you made a difference.

Kas/Danni - Chatting

Kas looked at Mathias’es sweat soaked body as he hung there naked a mixture and blood and sweat, the smell was intoxicating to her, he was unconscious now, which was a shame really he had proven to be so much fun. Much stronger then she thought he would be, but alas he could only take so much. She put the last of her tools away and wheeled the tray over to the side of the cell out of reach. She toyed with the idea of letting him down, but decided against it liking the idea of him hanging there on display. She licked the last of his blood off her fingers and walked out of the cell closing it back up nice and tight. “Until later, Mathias.” Kas said looking at him almost adorningly, then walking off.

She didn’t see Nina when she walked back into the main lab, “Poor thing all work and no play.” Kas said walking to the elevator, pushing the button. It had been a busy morning, or was it afternoon, time seemed to stop when she was busy, it always had, which is what made her so good at her job. Kas thought for a minute, Job, she never had a job, or did she. She frowned for then smiled, it wasn’t important not now. As she waited she heard some moaning off in the distance, it sounded soft like it was coming from one of the smaller labs. The elevator doors opened and Kas looked inside, hearing the moan one more time she shrugged and walked off in the direction of the moaning wanting to check it out. Nina never said she couldn’t explore the HUB so there was no reason for her to worry and not do it. Kas walked over to a white tiled room and walked down the stairs. There was a person lying on a stretcher. She smiled broadly as she got closer.

Parts of her looked silver, it was very pretty Kas thought, then she realized who it was laying there, it was Dani. Kas was very excited to see her it was nice to have new play things. Kas walked up to her and looked at her touching the metal casing that was now part of her body. “Hello Dani.” Kas said looking at her in amazement. Danni’s eyes opened, “Oh god Kas…is it you, really.” Kas smiled and nodded, “It is. What are they doing to you?” Kas asked lazily, Danni started to explain speaking fast fearing the Nina or Devon would be back soon, Kas, however, did not seemed at all worried.

“Oh Danni you poor dear…it must be very painful and hurt something awful.” Kas said stifling a smile as she listened to Danni explain the little she knew. Finally Danni looked at her, “Kas you have to help me, get me to the Doctor or Ianto or the Master.” Kas clicker her tongue looking away, again trying to hide her smile, then turning back straight faced, “Oh Danni I wish I could. But, well you see the Doctor and Master are…oh Danni. I’m sorry. They’re both dead, it was amazing really it was.” Danni’s eyes got big and she started to shake her head, she couldn’t believe what Kas was saying. It didn’t make any sense Danni knew they could regenerate and not die, well in the same fashion that humans’ could. She was watching Kas circle her she didn’t look right, something seemed wrong, but still it was Kas, “They can’t die…” Kas touched Danni leg, “That is what they wanted us all to believe, but they can and Nina and Devon found a way, they were able to block there regeneration abilities some how, I’m not completely sure, but I assure you they are indeed dead.” Kas smiled at Danni sadly, “They won’t be coming for you.” Kas sighed, starting to move again around Danni she watched her enjoying the pain on her face, then continued, “and as for Ianto, well they have his lover, not Jack, but Mathias. Did you ever meet him? He’s a pretty blond German…rather big and strong, rugged, handsome, but flawed greatly, he, like you, put his faith in others saving him…now, well now he’s locked up. Not too far from here, the last I saw, he was hanging there naked dripping blood and sweat, he’s not very pretty now, but you can still see why Ianto likes him.”

“But Ianto…he…” Kas shock her head, “He’ll be dead soon enough, they all will.” Kas tilted her head, looking a Danni her eyes narrowing then touching Danni’s hand softly. “Kas what’s going on, what’s wrong with you?” Danni said trying to understand, Kas looked at her with cruelty and males. “There’s nothing wrong with me Danni. I just chose a side.” Danni shook her head not able to believe the words she was hearing, “What about Mick and Gwen and the others.” Kas frowned her brows coming even closer together then she started to squeeze Danni’s arm tighter and tighter, “That cunt Gwen, will be dead soon enough just like that little limp dicked Ianto that you adore so much. The victim the martyr, the pathetic looser who wouldn’t even fight for what he wanted, they’re all useless and none of them are needed for God’s plan. Only Jack and I the rest can die and they will.”

“Kas…my…arm.” Danni tried to move it but couldn’t Kas’s grip was steal, Kas looked at her regaining control, then let go of her arm and grabbed her face and squeezed it Danni was unable to speak or move once again. Kas’s face Danni’s and Kas licked Danni’s face and smiled, “all dead. Just like the Master and Doctor…who’s going to save you now princess?” Kas smiled dropping Danni’s head back onto the table and heading up the steps looking back a Danni. “Anything you want me to tell Ianto when I kill him?” Kas said with a dark laugh. Danni looked up at her following her with her eyes, not believing what Kas told her, she couldn’t. The Doctor and Master Dead…how it wasn’t possible and who would have thought that Kas would be helping Nina and Devon, that was just as impossible. Danni lied there with a single tear falling from her eye as she thought, hearing Kas laugh.

May it be said, when the sun sets on your life, you made a difference.

Mathias & Jack - What I want

Mathias hung there, every part of him was hurting. Kas, the things that she did to him, he tried to force the memories from his mind. That level of cruelty was beyond anything that Mathias could imagine, he didn’t know how much longer he could last, if she returned for another go. Mathias looked up at has arms, there was no where for him to go, she made sure of it. Mathias knew it wasn’t Kas, not the Kas that he knew, it couldn’t be, she was under some kind of control, they had figured that much in the transport. The worse was that Jack didn’t seem much better.

If he could have cried out he would have, but there was no point, he was gagged and no one who could hear him would help. Mathias head fell at his neck and he watched the floor.

“Hello Blonde.” Mathias heard and his head snapped up and he looked to the glass. He saw Jack standing there watching him with a small smile. Mathias hung there and looked at him, he wanted to say so many things but couldn’t instead his expression said it all. “Well Kasandra did a number on you didn’t she.” Jack said as he opened the door and walked in. He looked at the rollaway table then looked at Mathias and walked over to it. Mathias eyes grew big, was Jack here to finish him off, what could he do that Kas didn’t, Mathias shuddered at the thought. Jack rolled the table out of the room and took the chair out as well. He walked over to Mathias and looked at him, he tilted his head to the left and studied the man for a moment. He was beaten and Jack knew it, Mathias hadn’t broke, but he was beaten.

Jack walked up right up to him and stood, “This might hurt.” Jack said and with a sudden jerking motion Mathias was off the hooks and draped over Jack’s back. With one more motion Jack placed Mathias on the cot. Mathias watched Jack for a moment studying him. Jack didn’t say anything and reached over and took the gag out of Mathias mouth, “Now if you’re a good boy the gag can stay out, we wouldn’t want to over work your jaw and mouth now would we.” Jack said sitting down. Looking at Mathias, we said nothing but returned his look with a glare. Finally Mathias said, “Why?” Jack looked at him as he got up and walked over to the sink and washed his hands and took a paper towel and dampened it. He returned to the bed and whipped Mathias face. Jack shrugged, “Kas has her reasons and I have mine.” He said whipping the dried blood from Mathias face. Jack looked at his battered and beaten body, it still was magnificent.

“What do you want?” Mathias said. Jack looked at him, “I’m not sure.” He said, then he stopped and sat up and looked at Mathias with a little laugh. “That’s funny, you know. Normally I know exactly what I want and I get it. But right now, I have no idea.” Jack got up and walked back over to the sink leaving the towel there and again washing his hands. He dried off his hands and walked over to the bed, Mathias eyes never leaving him. Jack looked at Mathias and sighed, “I want to punish you, for taking Ianto from me. I want to hurt you in ways that even in your darkest nightmares you can’t imagine. Ianto’s mine always has been and always will be.” Jack said sitting looking at him, not angry or cruel just looking at him.

“Ianto is his own man, he belongs to no one.” Mathias said waiting for a back hand, but none came. Jack tilted his head again thinking for a moment. “Maybe…no…no, I’m sure he belongs to me.” Jack said with a certain level of uncertainty. Jack frowned, “However that isn’t why I can here.” Jack said changing the topic, why was he here again, he wasn’t sure.

Mathias looked at him, “then what do you want, Kas has already tenderized me, I can’t fight, even if I wanted to I can’t. Do what you will, it doesn’t matter, but just get on with it.” Mathias was tired of the head games and the pain at least with Kas, she didn’t talk to him this…whatever it was with Jack was almost worse.

Jack looked at Mathias laying there naked, he could have him, easily, fuck him, use him for his own please, but that didn’t interest him, which Jack found even stranger. “No…I think I’m done here.” Jack said standing up. Mathis looked at him, as Jack walked out of the cell closing the door and leaving him alone.

Mathias adjusted on the cot, his hands and feet still shackled. Mathias looked at the ceiling trying to get into a more comfortable position; this was so much better then hanging there like a slab of beef. He wasn’t sure how long it would last but he was going to take advantage of it, he needed to rest and give his body a chance to heal, still something bothered him, it was something with Jack, he seemed conflicted, not at all like he seemed in the transport. Mathias thought about Jack and how he was different until he fell asleep.

Mod Note:

I'm sure you can all see that I didn't get the scene up this weekend like I normally do and this was for a variety of reasons... in the end it boils down to the fact that I cannot keep stretching this game on and on. So... we're skipping scene 12 for all intent and purposes. The FINAL SCENE will be this weekend... so if you need any help with what to do in the mean time, let me know and I'll tell you. The week after that, we'll have the epilogue.

So do make sure to post your characters for DOTD which is the next game that we'll be doing.

I'm sorry for the abrupt ending, but it's got to be done. Unfortunately I've backed myself into something of a corner here and there's really not much of another option.

I do hope that you all had fun.

Gwen stood on a ledge, overlooking the city of Cardiff.

No, she corrected herself, it wasn't Cardiff, not in this time. Now it was the Shining Citadel.

After living in filthy hovels and crudely constructed shelters, Gwen had to admit the sight of the city was somewhat refreshing, even knowing the city was were a good majority of their enemies were.

The city itself wasn't enormous, but big enough, and remarkably clean looking, considering the state of the rest of the world. And rising from the depths of the city, like a giant made of steel, was a huge building, bigger then any structure in the city.

Call it a hunch, Gwen guessed it was were the Master used to reside.

"Think maybe he was overcompensating for something?" Ianto asked from behind her.

Gwen turned around. He was standing on the ledge next to her, his arms crossing his chest, staring at the city. Behind him, Kara was sitting crosslegged on the ground, making a few spears from the rocks and sticks Gwen had gathered.

Gwen idn't really think the speears would be truly usefull, but she always felt it would be better to have something over nothing.

"I think he may have been." Gwen said, strechting her arms over her head. Most of the soreness had left her body, she still wasn't one hundred percent, but at least she could move without feeling pain.

"Any idea how we're supposed to storm the fucking city?" Hart asked, walking up next to them. He was healing nicely, as was Mick, Mick's leg was still not up to snuff, but it had at least stopped bleeding.

"No idea." Ianto said, still looking at the city. "So far all my hopes have been concentrated on getting to the city, but now, I have no idea what we do next."

"It's obvious what we have to do next," Mick called from where he was sitting, helping Kara make spears. "We go in, kill anything in our way, find Jack and the others, get him out, and go home. The question is, HOW?"

"We have to find some way of sneaking into the city, maybe the sewers or something," Gwen said, scratching her head, "There are only five of us, so we don't want to go causing a ruckus and have to fight our way out."

"And then theres the trouble of finding anyone here," Mick said, "The city is huge, finding the others there isn't going to be easy."

"Odds are they took them to the tower, but even then, what are we supposed to do, go waltzing from floor to floor looking for everyone?" Hart said, "Thats a lot of ground to cover, andtheres no guarantee they're i the tower to begin with, though I agree thats the most likely place."

"I think we all agree on that." Ianto said, "And unless any of us havea map of the sewers, theres a great chance we'd get lost somewhere along the way. I would suggest we steal some Elite uniforms and infiltrate the city in disguise."

"The problem with that," Kara said, "Is we don't have any uniforms, and if we did, wouldn't it be suspicious if there were five Elite wandering around like they were lost?"

"And we can't go in guns blazing, we'd need a friggin tank for that." Mick grumbled, finishing a spear and starting on a new one. "Sneaking in is the way, but how?"

Gwen thought about it. "What if we pretended like we were prisoners?"

"What d'ya mean?" Hart asked.

"It's like what Ianto suggested, we steal a Kindred uniform, and dress up one of us in it, and pretend the rest of us are prisoners, we are still on the Red List, aren't we?"

"Thatsa greta idea, we'll drive right into the city and get our asses thrown in jail, that's bloody brilliant." Hart sneered.

"Its not abad plan, but there are so many things that could go wrong with it." Mick said, "we don't know how they'd treat prisoners, and its likely Jack would have told the Elite about us and how we're not supposed to be here."

Gwen groaned in frustraton, "So basically we have no way of getting in there short of driving our truck up to city hall and blow everything to hell on the way?"

"Basically, yea, thats about it." Ianto said, "But don't worry, we'll get in somehow."

"We'd better, otherwise we'll never get home." Gwen said, turning away to sit next to Kara. Gwen grabbed a stick and a stone and began to make a spear.

It was simple work, take a stick, remove any loose twigs, and tie a rock to the end of it. Gwen lost herself in the motions of it, until Kara brought her out of it.

"You have not asked me." She said.

"What? Asked you what?" Gwen said, confused.

"You have not asked me how I felt about not existing anymore." Kara said simply.

Gwen was confused, until she realized what Kara was saying. "Oh my God."

"You see now." Kara said, "If you are victorious today, then this timeline will not have existed, and I shall cease to be, along with Tiny, Jett, Anya, and everybody else."

Gwen's jaw worked up and down, thinking of what she could say. All this time, and she had neevr thought about it.

Kara looked at the expression on Gwens face, and laughed. "Do not worry, my whole life has been spent fighting the Master and his Kindred, I know no other way to live. If this is to be the time to overthrow the tyranny of this world, I will have no regrets."

"But, you wont exists, all your lif will be gone forever." Gwen protested.

"Have you not heard what I said? My whole life has been conflict. If I were to wake up, and find I lived a normal life, a life you once lived, then I could die happily everynightt hereafter, if only to wake up the ame way. This timeline, can be destroyed and shatered for all I care. Do not worry for me, concentrate on victory."

Gwen nodded. Kara's words rang true to her, for some reason. If they could win, then maybe the people of this world could finally know peace.

Gwen spotted a rock in the pile, longer, and more jagged then the rest. Gwen picked itup, twirling it between hr fingers, then deftly hid it in the sleeve of heer coat. It never hurt to have plenty of weapons.

Gwen walked thru the woodlands near the Shining Citadel, looking for firewood.

Being without even a basic Sterno stove, the group was forced to use fire to cook their meals. Gwen an Mick had been adamant about not lighting a fire so near the city, but Kara had shown them a method her and her people had perfected, that kept the smoke to a minimum.

They had all agreed to light a fire, but they couldn't light a fire with out wood. And since Gwen lost at rock-paper-scissors, she had to go get the wood.

"Lousy scissors, shoulda gone with rock," Gwen grumbled, pausing to pick up a few dry sticks. She had already gathered a full armload, but she had decided to wander a bit, take in the scenery. It was nice to be able to enjoy nature every now and again.

Gwen walked on, taking deep breaths of the fragrant air, feeling the cool breeze on her cheek. So intent was she on enjoying the air, she didn't notice him until she was almost on top of him.

There, fifty feet away, was an Elite. He was alone, holding one of the wicked looking rifles they were fond of carrying. His back was to her, so he didn't see her.

Gwen froze, holding her breath. Christ, he was so CLOSe, another few more seconds and he would have heard her. Gwen didn't dare risk killing him, for several good reasons.

She was pretty sure she couldn't kill him unless she use dher pistol, she didn't have the stealth skills to get close enough to him to stab him, and if he had friends in the vicinity, they'd hear the gunshots, and find her. That she wanted to avoid.

Slowly, very slowly, not taking her eyes off the elite, Gwen carefully backed up. She tried her best to feel her foot around, to make sure she didn't step on any broken twigs, or rustle any leaves. Gwen could just imagine Anya, were she here. Anya would have been out of here, running at full tilt, with the Elite being none the wiser. Of course, Anya also would have ben able to kill the Elite and hide the body so that it would never be found.

Well, Gwen wasn't Anya, she'd have to do her best with what she had. The Elite was almost far away enough that Gwen could just turn and run, just a few more feet....

SNAP.

Gwen froze. That wasn't her.

She spun around, and was face to face with the smiling face of one of the Elite, sneering at her. His arm lashed out, and caught Gwen across the face, spinning her around, and sending her crashing to the ground.

Gwen didn't move, keeping her face laying on the muddy ground. She held one of her sticks in her hand, hidden by her body, and she could hear the footsteps of the Elite coming closer to her.

Gwen waited, trying not to move as she heard the footsteps approach, even as her mind screamed at her to get up and run.

She heard the booted feet, they were right next to her! She waited until she felt his hand on her shoulder before she made her move. She rolled over, stick in hand, and stabbed wildly.

The Elite let out a howl of pain, clutching his eye, or what was left of it after the stick obliterated it. He fell with a heavy thud, still twitching, before he finally died. Gwen got up[, catching her breath, looking at the dead Elite. That, was close, she thought, wiping the blood from her lip. The Elites blow had split it, it stung, but that was it.

RATTATATATATATAT!

Gunshots, lots of them.

"Shit!" Gwen ducked, as the hailstorm of bullets ripped the air. Gwen rolled and dived behind a tree, pulling out her pistol. The Elite she had seen earlier had heard his buddies death cry, and was now shooting at Gwen.

Gwen, remembering the deadly grenade launcher on the rifles, knew she had to finish this one before he remembered to use it.

Woodchips went flying as the Elite poured bullets into the tree, Gwen just needed to wait for him to reload before...

There!

The bullets stopped, and Gwen heard the distinct clatter of a clip being dropped. Gwen acted quickly. She ducked out from behind the tree, aimed her gun, and fired.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Three shots, all hitting their mark. The first bullet entered the elites shoulder, spinning him halfway, before her second bullet hit him in the neck. The third bullet entered thru the back of his head, dropping him to the earth.

Gwen stood up, breathing heavily, looking at her handiwork. Odd, that they would only send two of them out, usually Elites patrolled in groups of six or more.

BOOM!

"GAH!!"

Fiery pain erupted at her side, and Gwen fell to her knees, clutching at the burning pin. She forced her hand away to look at the wound. It was a graze shot, albeit a deeper one then usual. It wasn't debilitating, but it hurt like fuck.

Where was the shooter?

"Freeze, bitch!"

Gwen froze, as she felt a gun barrel pressed against the back of her head.

Gwen knew better. In movies, the hero would swiftly move his head to the side, grab the assailants arm, and drop him with a series of over-complicated moves and follow up with a fifteen minute firefight in which the hero took out the whole enemy army.

No, Gwen knew better. Such a move would be suicide, and she knew it.

"Where are you going, girly?" The voice asked, Gwen could almost see the Elite leering at her cowering form. He grabbed her arm, pulling her up to her feet. "You took out two of my boys, bitch." He snarled, "I outta make you pay."

"Go ahead, if you've got the balls." Gwen retorted, and she spat on him.

The Elite angrily wiped the spit from his face, and brought his gun down heavily on Gwen's head.

Stars erupted in front of her eyes, and she fell to the ground, and she remembered nothing more.

When Gwen finally awoke, the first thing she was aware of was the ache in her head, and the fire in her side. She sat up, groaning.

She was in the back of a truck, alone. Her hands were unbound, but her gun was gone. The back of the truck was locked, and it was cold. Gwen rubbed her arms for warmth, and she felt something hard in her jacket.

She put her hand in her pocket, and drew out the long sharp knife she had hidden back at the camp.

She was alone, but not unarmed, and she was in the back of an Elite transport, being taken to what she could only assume was the Citadel.

"Great, the one place we wanted to get into, and I'm being put in the one place there I don't wanna be."

The fact that she was alone gave her comfort, it meant that the Elite hadn't found Ianto or the others. Gwen hoped they heard the gunshots, heard what happened to her, and tried to help her along with Jack.

In the meantime, Gwen thought, fingering her makeshift knife, she would do what she could on the inside.......

Ianto/Kas et al - Capture

“There they are...fire!” A voice yelled and before Ianto or the others had time to react they were all out cold.

Ianto rolled over on his side and rubbed his head, he sat-up and looked around, he was in a cell the others all coming too as well. “What the bloody hell happened?” Ianto said helping Kara up as Mick and John got up as well. Mick looked around, “better yet, where is Gwen?” Mick said not seeing here.

“What did they hit us with?” John said rubbing his eyes feeling like shit. Kara shook her head.

“That my lovelies was a little surprise.” Kas said walking to the front of the cell. “It took us a while to find you, but once we found Gwen, we knew you were close. What fools; I told Nina and Devon you would come and here you are.” Kas said with a laugh.

“Where’s Gwen?” Ianto said in a demanding tone. Kas smiled, “That cunt will be taken care of just like you, my pretty little eye-candy. The questions you should be asking is where’s Mathias…is he still alive?”

“Kas I swear to God you hurt him I’ll….” Ianto started to say Kas cut him off. “You’ll what…cry…pout…do nothing…look pretty…that is about all you’re good for.” Kas glared at him, “Well that and shagging.” Ianto moved to the glass wall between him and Kas. Kas stood there laughing. Mick looked at Kas, “This isn’t you…why are you doing this?” Mick said almost pleading with her.

Kas tilted her head looking at Mick thinking for a minute, “Oh but this is me…you just never figured it out, too bad too.” Kas said with a smile and a wink.

“Kas stop teasing them.” Jack said walking up to Kas lazily draping his arm around her, Kas looked at Jack, “I’m just having some fun.” Jack smiled, “Of course, but we can have our own fun…let them sit here.” Jack said and he and Kas walked off laughing.

“What the hell is going on?” John said looking at the others then continuing, “Well at least we are in the Citadel and more then likely the tower.” John said sitting down on the ground. “Fat lot of good that is going to do us locked in here.” Mick said feeling along the glass barrier checking it for weak points.

Ianto was stunned; things just kept getting worse and worse. He was worried about them, now Gwen and Mathias. Things were getting worse and worse. “We need to figure out our next step…” He trailed off; he really wasn’t sure what to do next. They were stuck and no one seemed to be in any position to help. Right now the only two people who could help them where the same two people who just walked off laughing at the situation they were in. Ianto took a deep breath and sat on the floor; he was out of idea’s and running low on any faith of getting out of this alive.
May it be said, when the sun sets on your life, you made a difference.

The ONLY thing that you're allowed to change about where you are is if you want t get your ass to the HUB... via captors if you're not already there. Do what you want, talk to who you want... but no escaping! Do that and I WILL kill you... I feel like poo last night but I managed to force myself to do the outline... fuck up my plans and I'll skin you alive.
