All the ancient classic fairy tales have always been scary and dark.

Adia & David - The light shines through David is standing quietly next to the clean stall while Adia is changing into the clean clothes he brought her while she was wrapping her own wounds. He knows she's slipping away from him, and he don't know how to stop it. Somehow…he gets the feeling he is the only person who can help her. But how can he make her see that? At that moment the door opens, and catches a glimpse of her tear-streaked face in the mirror as she walks past him to the sink. He watches while she washes her face and pats it dry with some paper towels. She turns around and starts talking: "David, I…" At that moment he reaches her and puts his right index finger on her lips. "Shh, I talk first." Defeated, she keeps her mouth closed. "While I was running to the pharmacy…they started talking to me… They told me that, despite what they've lead you to believe, we have to stick together, that is the only way for us to survive." The lie escapes his lips before he can stop himself. "Please…let's see if we can change your flight, come to Vegas with me," he pleads with her. She stares at him, wide-eyed and confused. "Why…why would they lie to me?" "To confuse you, to scare you. To…isolate you. You can't listen to them, we need to find a way to drown them out." She stares at him, dumfounded for a second. "Okay…" she whispers. "Okay? You'll come with me to Vegas?" he asks hopefully. "Yeah… Let's get out of here, please." David puts a comforting arm around her shoulder as they start to walk out. "Wait," she says and his heart stops. "What?" he asks with as much normalcy as he can muster. "I forgot the bag with my old clothes in it." "I'll go get it, wait here." David fetches the bag from the stall, and dumps it in the dustbin. "Come on, let's go." Outside they walk past a cleaning lady. "You might want to have a look in there, there's a huge mess in that restroom. Scared the crap out of my girl here," David says to her. With that, they disappear in the crowd. |
