"Poison Blood": A Role Playing Game.

INTRODUCTION:

This game will take place all over the World but manly in the US it is current times, about 8 months after terrorist launch simultaneous bio weapons that raise the dead, think NOTLD Zombies (slow moving), but unlike NOTD the zombies don't all at once just start all over the place appearing out of no where in great numbers it is a very slow process bites still work the same (with a few updates). You will not be going to a mall and hanging out or be boarded up in a house or stuck on a military base somewhere. The zombie idea here is more based on World War Z (if you haven't read it check out Wiki). The catch is in this world there are vampires who have remained in hiding living among us until now, now that their food source (humans) are in danger they have to act.

If you read the rules and would still like to participate in this game, please Personal Message(PM) me and submit a character or two (all players can have up to two characters, no more then that). I'll let you know if we have room for you in the game. What I would need is name, age, sex, occupation, character location, your alignment (Good, Evil or Neutral), picture link(s) and a brief biography.

Also, please take the time to review the FAQ posted below. These are the rules unless I elect to make an exception or alter them. If I do I will notify the player via Private Message and do a MOD Post stating the change.

Now for the good stuff...

***********************************************************************

HOW TO SURVIVE:

If you want your character to survive, read the rules below. If you don't follow the rules, your character will die a very inglorious death (i.e. "death by cow fart causing an explosion.") There will be NO mercy.

Follow these simple guidelines:

WRITE GOOD POSTS.

It's that simple. Your character can be good, evil, or neutral - just give them depth, make them interesting, make them integral to the story by making friends and enemies. You must post a minimum of 2 posts per character per scene (the more you post the more important to the story your character becomes and the more they will end up doing in the scenes and the game). These posts should be well thought out and story driven. I don't want to see any:

Pete walked into the room and looked at Jim. Boy did it smell in here. He didn't know what to do.

He tapped Jim on the shoulder and said, "Now what?"

This does NOT count as a post let alone a GOOD post. This counts as a half assed attempt and will do nothing more than piss me off. I, as well as the other players, put a considerable amount of time and effort into their posts and scenes. Don't insult us by pulling crap like this, it won't fly and you'll make a lot of enemies other than me.

If you don't write good posts you'll fall out of favor with the moderator and may god help your character! I take into account that not all of you will write at the same level, as long as I see effort being put forth, you'll be fine. If you're going to be out of the game for more than a day or so, just PM me and post on the board in an OOC (out of character post) that you will be gone and I will look out for your character. If you just wander off for a week with no word to me don't be surprised if you come back and you're dead. I might allow you to add in a fresh character but it would be based on the circumstances of your absence.

I understand that you may be lost and not always know what to do in game and I want to help you (my job is to make sure everyone has fun and enjoys the game), PM me and I will throw you a bone or two, but if I do, I expect your post to be brilliant (for you). Life happens to us all just show each other respect and do your best.

Do not spend all your post or series of posts in your own little game or on side stories; meaning don't go off and do your own thing and expect me to let you live. Ex:

Matt knew the group was working on a cure to save the world, but he decided to go off and have a bar fight...

NPC's are there to use and help build the story, they are not the end all be all to the game. If I see you only interacting with NPC's or in your own world or your own side story, you will die, plane and simple. Your post should almost always include at least one other player character (even if it's just a couple of sentances), there are exceptions, but these are exceptions.

Regarding side stories; we all do them and we all love them. They build your characters and are wonderful to help get people into your characters head, however, if you do a side story it needs to be relevant to the game somehow; if it isn't relevant to the game then you need to finish it before the next scene. Players depend on your interaction, remember that when you are writing your posts.

READ OTHER PLAYERS POSTS.

I can't say this enough. I realize you may take a couple days off for whatever reason, come back and be staring at 15 posts, but please read others posts and include others in your posts. I can tell who's not and if you mess up too much...your character will quickly pay the price. I don't want to see any "Hey guys, where am I?" posts. It's insulting to both me and the players. This isn't kindergarten. If you want to play along, do the work and read. Simple as that.

WORK WITH OTHERS TO BUILD A GREAT STORY.

Make friends, make enemies, join a clique, form an alliance, start up a love interest, browbeat others, vie for control of the group. These are just ideas. Have fun, but BE CAREFUL not to overstep your bounds and mess up the story, otherwise the moderator (me) will hurt you in the next scene. If you've got questions as to boundaries, how far you can take the story before the next scene, if you can discover something yet so on and so forth, message me with the question and I'll let you know.

I love to throw out ideas to players and have you send me ideas, I may not always use them, but if there is something you really want to see PM me and we can talk about it. The more you send me the more the game because you as the players.

FOLLOW THE RULES.

1. You cannot seriously injure another character played by someone (ie - shoot, maim, cut off a finger, break an arm, etc.) You are more than welcome to start a fight, but be fair. **You are more than welcome to work out agreements with other players. If you want to seriously harm another character in your own post between scenes you're welcome to do so as long as you've asked permission from the other player and they've agreed. I don't want to get any PMs staying that you crossed any lines or your character is going to die a painfully embarrassing and pointless dead ( i.e. shreds his dick in a blender and bleeds to death). You also might want to let me know if you make these kind of arrangements.**

2. Don't make other characters say things that are out of their character. When you include other characters in your posts (which wins you points in my book) please use the same respect that you'd like to have when others write about your character. If someone doesn't phrase something correctly or might have your character do something you don't think they'd do but isn't outrageous, please just roll with it and work around it. We're all doing our best to honor both our own characters and yours.

3. If you have a comment to say inside the thread that is from YOU and not your character (IE - "Hey everyone, I didn't like the way my character was treated in the last scene..." please put "OOC:" before it (it means "Out of Character") and put "IC:" before you begin writing "In character" for that particular post. Here's an example.

OOC: Hey everyone, I didn't like the way my character was treated in the last scene!
IC: Jim Beam walked over to the window and jumped out and flew off, blah, blah, blah.

Please try to keep OOC posts to a minimum unless it's of some substance and relevance TO THE GAME. I want everyone to communicate and have fun but nothing is more annoying then some one having to read through 30 posts that say "Lady check your PMs, Cale that was a funny, Misb check your PMs, etc, etc" or "Did anyone get that new game, GTA XI". You get the point. I'm not saying don't ever do this, but please be considerate of the thread and those of us that only have dial up connections. You'll quickly get some very serious strikes against you if I see posts from you that are JUST OOC and there's nothing to develop the plot. If you've been PMing someone for a while and they're not responding that's one thing but I don't want to see: Start Post. "OOC: Don't have time to post now, will do it later." End post.

4. Check you PMs EVERY TIME you sign on. Use your Personal Messages to communicate interesting subplots with other characters that even I don't know about. Have fun, communicate off the board as much as you like.

5. The Plot: I have a general outline of the story that I think would be fun. That said, it is not written in stone. Regarding scenes, I will post then as I see fit, in general every one to two weeks. I will send players plot lines and task that they will need to incorporate before a scene. If I don't send you something, that means you are doing fine and to continue with what you are doing. I reserve the right to do Mini Scenes if something that needs to be done isn't being done, people aren't working together or if someone must die. You get major points if you PM me ideas or suggestions, this is our game and it should be fun for everyone not just one or two players.

6. Keep out of character arguments off the board please. If you don't like someone or something that was done in a post, please PM them. If it's a continuous problem, PM me and I'll take care of it. Remember we have a Code of Conduct that all members of the Realm are expected to follow.

7. Major plot twists, major plot points (going on a killing spree, hurting your character, hurting NPCs, doing something incredibly stupid, exposing a plot point, exposing something major in the game, etc.). Any and all of them must be cleared through me and only me, this is for one very big reason; I have plans for all characters and the game, even if you think your character might do it or might know it, I may not allow it, because I need your character for another purpose, I would only say 'no' if I really think your plot twist or whatever would hurt the game. At that point the game is not about you or your character but about all the other players and the over all game. I'm not doing it to be mean ever but I'm doing it to protect the game.

8. It's never personal. When I kill a character it's not personal, it's for the good of the story. I reward good behavior and punish bad. The good guys might not win it just depends on the strongest characters and most deserving players.

9. Work together, work together work together, work together, work together. You need to work with the other players in the game. I treat everyone equal and you all have equal shots at glory, but you must work together. If you don't work together I have ways of punishing you that don't involve character death.

10. If I PM you something that your character needs to do before the next scene and you chose not to do it, you will die, simple as that.

11. If I see you spending more time posting in the other Forums and then say you have no time to post in the game, I will kill your character flat out and no amount of begging or whining will get me to change my mind. Nothing pisses me off more then to see people post in all the other forums and then never post on the game board. If you have time to post there then you have time to post on the game board. Is that bitchy, you bet your ass it is.

12. It's only a game! So have fun.

***Major scenes will be posted once ever one or two weeks or as I see fit. These scenes are to guide the story in the direction that I have envisioned. They may be short and the may be long, it all depends on what needs to be done.***

One last thing and this is very VERY important to keep in mind...

These games will contain adult content, adult situation, adult language. If you think you might be offended by that don't play. It also means that I do not control what you all write, if you want to have boy on girl, boy on boy, girl on girl, girl on boy actions, or one nasty bloody gross scene please let people know in an OOC. I don't want to hear that you were offended by something, but at the same time we all need to make sure that fair warning is given.

If you have any questions, please PM me.

Thanks!
