So throughout most of the history of Judaism and Christianity, it's been assumed that Moses was the writer of the first five books of the Bible. However, there's also been a lot of speculation that someone else did it for various reasons. The Bible says that he wrote the law and of the Hebrews' travels, but there are a lot of inconsistencies with this idea... such as that the Hebrews didn't even develop their own writing system until 200 years after Moses' death (and others that I'll mention later on). What do you think? |

lol, it's okay. Even so, this thread shall grow like a beanstalk, and one day we may harvest beans from it and climb its everlong trunk to meet ferocious giants and other mythical creatures to destroy and assert humanity's dominance over the planet we call Earth. |

I disagree. Everyone quotes websites and books with "Proven Facts" that writing didn't exist until after Moses, but where exactly is the "Proof"? Just because someone History teacher thinks it doesn't make it right. No one alive today lived back then to know its true, thus, there is no proof. |

But we have archaeological evidence for when certain civilizations developed writing. And it's also just pure logic that a wandering society doesn't come up with writing - so how would the Hebrews be able to write the books while walking around in a desert for 40 years? Writing always develops after the formation of a civilization. |

I doubt they did nothing but walk for 40 years. I can't accept a statement based off of faith in humanity, because humans twist and butcher everything to their liking so other people are persuaded to believe them. I really have no trust in any "Evidence" and "proof" scientists have. |

It's the lack of evidence, though. You won't find a shred of it that supports the Mosaic writing theory. Why's it so important to think that Moses did it, anyway? |

I don't think thats a very fair question. I have my thoughts just like you have yours. Why is it so important that Moses didn't? |

It's not, I'm just making debate for the sake of it. Because debate threads help new forums. |
