- chapel hill, new hampshire, eighteen seventy.
Ellison Academy. The two words would turn more than a few heads if spoken. Why? Ellison Academy was the most prestigious school that everyone wished they could be accepted into. Almost anyone. The school was an all boys boarding school. Each young man that attended there, held pride that no other could hold: the pride of being accepted into Ellison Academy.
nineteen twenty-four.
For the first time in history, the prestigious Ellison Academy has opened its doors to women. The nineteenth amendment persuaded the school's board that they needed to expand their student demography. And, though they didn't like to admit it, the school was running low on funds. They would offer admission to the daughters of the wealthier citizens of the east coast.
Thousands of applications flew into the boarding school, but only a slim amount of them were accepted. Seeing girls walk about the campus was a new sight to the boys. This angered the young men, who could no longer carry as much pride. It was like third grade when the boys disliked the girls. Hostile feelings swept over the school.
two thousand eight.
Since Ellison Academy opened it's doors to women in 1870, it has been blazing the trail for new reforms in boarding schools through out the country. It has now grown into one of the most elite and well known schools in the country. Though the school has now become a very diverse campus, there are many students with family lines all the way back to the mid nineteenth century.
Since the new reform, the school has become clearly divided - the students that still wish it was only open to the wealthy and elite, and the students that are in favor of all the changes. Most students are still from wealthy backgrounds, but a select few are attending Ellison on scholarships.
None have forgotten the original Ellison Academy, and young men that still attend to boarding school are still painted in prejudice, and firmly rooted in the old ways of their forefathers. The men have recently discovered that they're more than just a little bit rebel.[/font]
