Mansfield, Maine.

Home of the once prestigious Linderman Academy. Thirty years ago, Linderman used to be one of the top ten "it" schools in the country for the rich and elite to send their trust fund babies. However, in 1985, the school was engulfed by scandals. Kids who were supposedly kept under close watch were turning up either pregnant or as drug and alcohol addicts. Parents were outraged. These weren't just rich, spoiled brats. They were the children of big name CEO's and celebrities. The troubles that their children were getting into reflected on them as well. This wasn't even the beginning of the problem, however. Upon further investigation, it was found that teachers were even participating in these activities with the students. The school had so many lawsuits thrown at them that they were forced to shut down. Linderman Academy lost all credibility as a prestigious school and was soon forgotten about.

Many of the old alumni of the school eventually chose to settle back down in Mansfield, mainly for the nostalgia if anything at all. What's not to love about the coastal town that they spent some of the happiest, most carefree years of their lives? Because of the growing population, the small town's regular public school became far too crowded to accommodate all of the new additions. As a result, in 1990, the decision was made to reopen Linderman Academy. Because of the school's past reputation, the town decided to keep it as a regular public school. It was their own little hometown treasure.

We all know that high schools have their cliques, but regular high school cliques are nothing compared to the ones that began popping up with the reopening of Linderman. With small town values and old money ideals clashing, several prejudices and rivalries were formed. These differences eventually evolved into the cliques that are currently roaming the halls of Linderman Academy - the fashionistas, the jocks, the skaters, the geeks, the preps, and the 'nice ones'. It's obvious just by walking down the hallways which cliques came from what side. There are the occasional few that stray from where they biologically belong, but that's a rare occurrence in a school and town so divided.

Some people are beginning to grow sick of the cliques. Others enjoy it merely for the fact that they have a definitive enemy. Bitterness runs rampant among the cliques and fighting is currently at an all time high. Will someone be able to serve as the voice of reason? Will the students of Linderman Academy be able to put their differences aside in order to make peace among each other? Or will things get so far out of hand that no one sees what's really going on until someone finally gets hurt? Only time can tell on that one. Welcome to Linderman Academy and enjoy your stay in the
