Who's your favorite possum?

Did you see R2-D2? What about the droids? Their voices? Gack! I would have said that it was a four star movie, if it weren't for: the beginning, the length yet dramatically hacked version that we saw, and a little more emotion woulda made it better. |

The only thing that bothered me was Grevious' coughing, but then I found out that he has organic parts (and that Windu squeezed him good in the cartoon) so I don't mind. |

But you were fine with the droids voices being different than in the past movies, and them exploding with oil? Yeah, that cough threw me off... those blasted cartoons... I'm ashamed, but I may have to get around to watching them sometime... |

I didn't notice that about the voices. Maybe new models? Yeah the thing with R2 was a bit stupid, but I have seen much worse. |

Does the name Jar Jar Binks ring a bell? What senator in the right of their mind would give him any decision power? And don't get me started on Anakin destroying that space station by firing a missile in its hangar. Oh on a completely unrelated matter... I saw the original trilogy before going to see Ep III and I noticed some strange clothed guys standing next to Palpatine and Vader. Not the red elite guards, I mean those old men in strange (purple?) robes with even weirder hats. Who are they supposed to be? Palpatine's staff? His advisors? |

Yes, I believe that they were his advisors... but like you, it's just a guess. I used to think that they were like... I dunno... relatives or something, but I doubt that they were other Sith. |

That could have been interesting if Lucas carried on his original plans about a third trilogy. But you know that annoying rule, only two at a time (and no less? How can there be no less when one gets killed?? Stupid Yoda and his no try bull...) |

Meh, I used to say (before the prequels came out), I'd rather have Lucas finish the third trilogy before the prequels. Then I read the stories... |

I still find it dubious that Lucas could have written those. |

Because they're absolute crap? Well someone had to say it. I mean, come on, clones of everybody--not just normal clones, EVIL clones--and where did they get the DNA to grow them from? And all these new Sith things, and blowing up an entire galaxy without checking to see if there was sentient life on the planets... crazy... crazy stuff. And Mara Jade? Who the heck? Lucas never delves into the Expanded Universe for his content, most of the time his new movies completely crap up the storylines of the "sequel" books. I'd sooner see a Jedi Knight 1/2 movie before THOSE. Actually, a Jedi Knight movie would probably rock considering how cool the storyline was... as long as they didn't recycle the crappy cinematics (JK1) and redid most of the cheesy voice-acting (JK2).

Actually I think you are the last to openly state that... About Mara Jade, it could be that Zahn had access to Lucas' notes as he begun writing his trilogy... but I doubt it, especially seeing how much of a marysue she becomes later in the duology. But she was a pretty amazing character in the trilogy that introduced her.
See Possum? That's exactly the kind of comment I was talking about. Well you people have got me curious now: I take it KotOR takes place inbetween or before the new trilogy. Isn't everything about that time pretty much resolved by the new movies? |

Well the Jedi Knight storylines are very complicated what with the Valley of the Jedi and whatnot. Plus in JKII you have to kill like twelve Sithy boss dudes plus their underlings. Forget the story, those battles alone would make a neat movie!

Those battles alone would guarantee Lucas' vetos. What with his stupid "only two Sith" rule. |

Well... you realize that Zahn's book trilogy was based on the stories for 7, 8 & 9, so that's the most recent version... But yeah... I'll find a link if I can... |
