Is that first screenshot the furniture of a church?

Looks pretty good, but I prefer the Link in that demo you had me play earlier. This one is a midget... (as in adult face on child body)
Also the controls aren't nearly as good, being those of a FPS instead of the typical 3D Zelda Nintendo got us used to.

...yeah, but I think that this one COULD go somewhere, unlike the others (that I haven't mentioned) on Zelda Fan Game Cancelled, er... Central...

Hey Possum, I was just wondering... do you think it may be possible in ZGM to have a map like that of AoL? You know, with everything small, limited actions and encounters you can try to dodge whenever straying from the road?
I always thought that part of Zelda II was great and that it could work in other Zelda games too (provided that rest of the game, that is the areas accessed with said map, were in the classic Zelda style not side viewed)
If anything, we can still say up to this day that Zelda II is the game in which you travel the longer distances thanks to that map.

Yes... but I think that it will involve scripting... I'm not sure though, because I haven't seen it's progress (since it's rewrite), but since I'm writing the help files (tutorials and such), I'll let you know as soon as I can. Apparently (according to Helios), you can make a complete AOL-style game with scripting... but it sounds like a lot of work for him to make scripting THAT flexible...

we'll see...

Ah, so you are not part of the programming staff? I thought you were.

Anyway, good to hear that it should be possible ^_^

Helios is keeping THIS project to himself... and I'm not sure why. So I've gotten as much involvement as I can in it, and am sadly only a BETA tester and just barely got the help file job. What I'm hoping to do, is come out with scripts for creating different games on my own. Let me explain what I mean: the original style Zelda will be pre-programmed and such, but a BS Zelda won't have ALL of the features. Namely the timed events. So I want to come out with a script that will allow you to create those timed events (which should work with AST about the same). And Helios usually uses user-submitted things, so we could end up seeing a option that says: create a BS Zelda type game. Anyway, and I want to make sure that every 2D Zelda game is cloneable. Including the Game & Watch as well as the wristwatch game.

So you should be able to see everything that you want.... eventually.

Sounds great :link:

That would be cool about the G&W (Nintendo should have made a modern version of it in the fourth collection)
...but I'm not sure you will really want to bother with the wristwatch. Did you ever play that?
Also does this include the CD-i games?

Yes, I played the wristwatch. I didn't like the Game & Watch one much either... but I want to do it. Do you know how cool it would be to have a remake of ALL the 2D Zelda games on your PC?!

Forgot about those darned CDi ones... I only played Zelda's Adventure (which was more 3D), so I'll only think about that if and when that emulator is done...

But even though you said it as a joke, I seriously might someday. After all, it's not far off from AOL, is it? (well, from what I've seen...)

Let's see, what are all the 2D Zelda games? Make sure I didn't miss any:
Wristwatch game
Game & Watch
Zelda
BS Zelda
The Adventure of Link
A Link to the Past
BS Ancient Stone Tablets
Link's Awakening
Oracle of Ages/Seasons
Four Swords
The Minish Cap

The Wand of Gameleon
Link: Faces of Evil

I don't know about this one, because of it's 3D features, but it definately won't be possible with ZGM:
Four Swords Adventures (?!!)

Not to be picky, but Zelda's Adventure was rendered (Mortal Kombat-ish), not outright 3D.
The other two games did play somewhat similarly to AoL, except without the awesomeness ;)

The first Four Swords too would be difficult because of the randomly generated dungeons...

I dare you find an lcd game better than the Zelda G&W.

Oh, no. Don't get me wrong. It IS my favorite Game & Watch styled game... but I'm still not it's #1 fan!

Well, as for Four Swords, the dungeons aren't "random" persay, but they do have several different versions. Depending on a number of factors, including the "random" one. So I wouldn't say: impossible, or anything....

Ah good, then I don't have to throw a cucco at you ^_^
But you have also to admit that it is way better than the Nelsonic wristwatch... or else :stalfos:

You know, the most amusing thing about that game was that stabbing the Goblin (Moblin?) as fast as you could would most often produce a well determined sequence of sound effects that could almost be considered music (sort of Like G&W's stage in Smash Bros)
I played it so much that it is burned in my brain... too-too-tup-tip, too-too-tup-tip, too-too, too-too-tup-tip. Somebody should make a remixed mp3 on that beat
(Yes by typing this I automatically accept any and all jokes about my mental condition)

Yeah, I suppose the randomizer could be reproduced, but it'd definitely be a pain in the ass.
And what about the mandatory second player (with relative second screen)? Netplay?

NO! Not netplay. I'd kill myself. I'd be doing something that I've always been against. The inventor of "online play" [strike]must be purified by fire[/strike] was creative...

Yes, it'd be a pain, but it's toward the end of the list!

CRAP!!!
