Who's your favorite possum?
Well... I'm sure that by now, I've probably said over 15 times, what a movie buff I am...

anyway, I thought I'd tell you what my favorite movie is: Braveheart.

Have y'all seen this movie? It's the best "epic" that you'll ever see, but Mel Gibson's fake accent IS a little noticeable at times, but not too bad...

I'd give you a full review, but it'd probably be about a page long... (unless you guys want one...)

anyway, my favorite movie "trilogy" is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy... although I was ashamed of the theatrical cut of the Two Towers... *hiss*

that's not to say that Star Wars isn't up there... I LOVE Star Wars... and am going at midnight on it's opening day, however I'm afraid that I'm a few hours behind people towards my ease <_< *gives Duke a dirty look*

But I hated Star Wars Episode II... it was SO bad... speaking of which.... have you guys seen the Behind the Scenes of Episode I? I liked the movie, but the Behind the Scenes was MUCH better than the movie.... just FYI.

Last year was THE worst year in movie history... well, the 80's was the worst decade, but last year was terrible. Anyone see Troy? Terrible... anyone see Alexander? worse... anyone see King Arthur? I liked it, and it WAS better than the other two, but not a "must-see", but good enough for me to own. Hopefully (if things work out as planned) I will see Kingdom of Heaven tommorrow, and be able to give you guys my "spiel" on the thing...

Well, feel free to comment, ask me questions (I LOVE to critique movies, I wish that I could be a film-maker...), or say your personal views on movies and such...

Will post more later!

Is Braveheart as good as Spartacus? :)

Actually I watched Jaws (not Jaws II) last night. Lame. Slow. Poor pace at points. And overly gory when the guy gets you-know-whatted. :(

The music was cool though... :)

Braveheart is MUCH better than Spartacus... well, I didn't bother to watch the new mini-series, if you're talking about the new one...

Actually, many people will disagree with me, but everyone seems to agree that it is a "modern" Spartacus. Modern, meaning with new and better technologies. Naturally, this was before people felt the need to CGI their battles, so it's THAT much more rewarding to watch REAL battles, not polygons...

And it's much better than "Gladiator".

That's funny: I thought Episode II was acceptable while Episode I was teh horror.

sorry, I meant east, not ease...

No, Episode II was THE WORST... EVER... yeah!

You see, Episode I had a nice balance of real sets/stuff, and special effects. The effects in Episode II not only looked WAY more fake, but they used too many. Want to hear something scary? Apart from the scene that they filmed during Episode II

, ALL OF THE SCENES WERE SHOT ON A GREEN SCREEN!!! want to hear something worse? even the parts with real backgrounds were shot seperately, so we're in for one fake looking movie...

Did you guys see the TV spots? Yuck! That "lava-scene" (won't spoil it), looked worse than... crayon scribbles or something.

Not to mention the worse acting in Episode II. And the lack of Darth Maul... mmm... horns!

I don't really care to defend Episode II (as I said, it was acceptable to me, not outright good) But I'll be glad to voice my annoyance against Episode I.

Before that though...

You see, what I hate about Episode I is:

1) The whole thing seems rather pointless. All of the movie takes place on some insignificant planet. Hardly a good start for an epic saga that should concern a whole galaxy.
2) Jar Jar Binks.
3) Darth Maul was a terrible villain "Oh he looks like a devil! So scary!" ...bah. And he got pwned from a position of absolute advantage too. If he actually had lines, they'd probably be "maul smash!".
4) Jar Jar Binks.
5) Anakin Skywalker. Really just everything about him in that movie makes me want to turn off the TV.

6) Did I mention Jar Jar Binks?

About Episode II, my only major gripe is

Anakin was a much worse actor in Episode II. I don't care who you are, THAT one is a fact.

Did I mention the whole "special effect" thing? The OLD ones were much better than that....

That is the truth.
But between those of Episode I and II... I don't see enough of a difference to call one less displeasing than the other.

Ok, well... I didn't get to see Kingdom of Heaven... yet. But may end up being able to see it twice FOR FREE. Within the next two weeks, plus with Star Wars (critics seem to like Episode III more than the other two, so far.... (rottentomatoes as my source)) coming out, I'll be loving life. Anyway, brought out one of my favorites last night and rewatched The Last Samurai. I'm still at a toss up on whether to give this movie 3 1/2 or 4 stars (on the normal critiquing system... 4 being the highest, and 5 being "the best movie you've ever seen" or "off the scale"). What do you guys think?

Very belatedly, but I've grown curious: how's that?

Very belatedly

What does that mean?

Well, the biggest reason that I like it better is probably biased, because I really wanted to be a film maker, but speaking of unrealism... >_>

Anyway, it was very well put together and at least the best Behind the Scenes film that I've ever seen. Whoever directed that should have one "Best Documentary", but it technically isn't eligible...

Guess I just made up the word from belated

Ah okay, I thought it explained things in a way that made the movie better.

Ok, I have my movie reviews done, which ones do you want to see? List of them:

Star Wars I
Star Wars II
Star Wars III
Star Wars IV
Star Wars V
Star Wars VI

Those movies include the reviews for their DVDs as well as their special editions.

Cont'd:

Braveheart
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Kingdom of Heaven
King Arthur
Troy
The Last Samurai

Uh... I think there's more, but I'll see what you guys want to read first.

King Arthur is the only one I did not see but am somewhat interested in.

Girl of action Guinevre is a major turn off for me.

The Star Wars and LotR one may be interesting. But I have yet to see the Extended Editions so no spoiler please.
Also wait until tomorrow before posting The SW reviews, 'k?
