It also helps if you use Snes9x v1.41 for the Mac. I know there is bound to be at least ONE site out there that still has a version of it floating around somewhere... though it is old. (If I could remember where the site was, I'd gladly give you the link, but I really don't know) because it's the only one that I've noticed really plays BS Zelda properly. As for patchers, you'll want to use the ones LBA linked you at Zophar's as there are some VERY Mac friendly patchers that don't require much more than having a "clean" copy of the rom, and an ips file. If you can't find Snes 9x 1.41 for Mac, I'll see what I can do about trying to find it. Though a Google search might be faster for you. Edit: Okay... it took a while to find the "Official" version for Mac OS X that is also 1.41... You're likely to be good with "Snes9x 1.41 Custom (OSX only)" from: http://vincent.grigorieff.free.fr/snes9x/ Give that a try, and run the PRE-PATCHED copy of BS Zelda we have here at the site. I recommend "pbszelda.smc" as it's the best of the batch! It's the one that I use and have beaten more times than I care to admit. But if you INSIST on patching the game yourself, go here: http://www.zophar.net/utilities/patchutil.html and grab yourself a copy of "IPS Patcher v1.0" if you just want to patch easily. It's not too hard to do, but as I don't have a Mac, heh... well I couldn't tell you how to use it. Hope all this helps. |

Hey, thanks a zillion for the Mac OS X help, Tre; I was having the same problem. Now I've a new one: SNES9X 1.41 doesn't run on my Mac. When I try to Open ROM from the menu, I get the spinning color cursor of death. My OS is the latest Tiger, with all patches applied. I d/led the source for 1.41 and after spending an hour or two getting it to compile, I'm trying to track down exactly why it's hanging, but apparently you got it to run without having to recompile the whole mess? It looks like it was written for Mac OS 8. It's ooooold. Any more help would be appreciated! - Ron |

Oh nevermind; you have to drag-drop the SMC file onto the app to run it. Weird bug. |

Sorry I didn't notice the request for help earlier, but yeah... it does seem to want you to drag-n-drop to the running Snes9x. I don't know why, and haven't really bothered with it since I stopped testing things out on Macs... I've stuck to Windows and Dreamcast for emulation. But at least it's working for you now!
