I do not think the gray tiles were in any of the patched versions but I can't say for sure. Could someone try to confirm if the gray tiles are in any of the patched versions? b/c if they are not then this most likely is video from when the game was originally broadcasted. also, could someone confirm if the english text at the end is the same exact thing from euclid's patch. thanks. duke, are going to try and contact this person that has the videos? maybe if you try to explain to him that we are trying to recreate AST he would help us. skyewelse, do you know if he speaks english and thanks for all of this great info. |

Yeah right, it was originally broadcasted in English and we somehow got Japanese dumps  And yes, the English text is from David and mine's translation, which Euclid inserted into the game. I didn't even notice the text the first time because for some reason the guy toggled turbo mode as soon as text showed up. I wonder why... |

Well I sent him a message to his Yahoo account so the next time he checks his Yahoo page he should get it. Anyhow, I asked him if his auction for the "History of Zelda" video tape was in fact the same thing as this "Zelda no Video" DVD or if it was different. Since the two of them are listed side-by-side on that second link page, I'm pretty much under the assumption that the entire contents of the History of Zelda Video, which is forty minutes long is the same as the History of Zelda section on the Zelda no Video DVD. In any case, I honestly have no idea who that Youtube guy is and whether or not he is Japanese. I was just listing what I found in my search. And no problem about gathering this info. Glad to help. I want to see this project succeed as the rest of you do. -SkyeWelse |

I guess I just find it odd b/c I don't know how you would know that certain tiles were gray. Can Euclid figure this out? |

For most tiles, we can tell in what room they are first used. Then, if they are used again, we have to figure it out by the rest of the room or just guess. |

So you can figure out if certain tiles are different colors? I didn't realize you guys were able to figure out small details like that. |

The colors are predetermined (although sometimes the same identical tile may come in different colors, but in the editor it behaves like its two completely unrelated tiles). If that video's resolution wasn't so bad, you'd see that those grey floor panels have a different pattern than the blue ones. |

Triforce of Lamedom...

If I actually had money to spend I may consider buying it. ...Just in case you didn't know, the price with the yellow background is a the Buy-It-Now price. If you pay that you'll win it. Seeing as thats the minimum bid, its basically similar to a eBay store item. How would you buy it? Bid agent or do you have an actual YHJ account? |

Here is the link for Celga the website that skyewelse pointed out. Just click on "place order" for instructions. I do believe this tape is different than the dvd b/c the dvd come out after WW was released and this tape has MM artwork. Considering how useful the DVD was for us, this tape could prove to be very helpful as well. Skyewelse, is there any way you could research when this tape was released or even a copyright? this could help us figure out if it is the same as the vhs. |

June 22nd 2000 according to a few sites. This site here talks about some of the contents of the tape around the time the tape was released. Apparently it has an E3 Miyamoto Interview that talks about the concept behind Majora's Mask that was sold on April 27th in Japan. The entire interview with Miyamoto is transcribed there at the site. And this site has an article that talks about the Zelda no Video DVD. He talks about "History of Zelda" and how it was released over two years before, (I'm guessing on that History of Zelda tape) but this time the quality is much better. This site has information about the BS Zelda releases and talks a little about how it was broadcast and so forth. The games would last for aproximately 1 hour over four weeks starting from 6 o'clock in the afternoon. The player would play the game and aqcuire a password of some sort that one could use to transfer the progress that had already been made. I think you all know about all this, but one thing I didn't know about that I found interesting was that apparently the player with the best records or score would recieve a prize of some sort. It does list two popular Japanese voice actors who did some of the live streaming voice work for the game: Mariko Kouda for the voice of Zelda and Kiyoshi Kobayashi for the voice of the "leader?". I'm unsure of exactly whose voice Kobayashi played. Perhaps Sahraslahabanana's voice? Also it showscases the very small image of Link running from the monsters of Hyrule which seems to be one of the few if only pieces of artwork for the BS Zelda series. At some point I may take a stab at improving that picture. We'll see. But perhaps the most important and shocking news of all was this information regarding a Zelda game that was never released. Apparently the story behind it was that Zelda used the Triforce of Wisdom and accidently changed her form to that of a moblin. This was very interesting news to say the least! Oh and the holder of the auction hasn't written back yet. -SkyeWelse |
