On another forum, this name was suggested as the correct translation for KnS. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Mohammed Ali |

Evil tablets? I'm not so familiar with AST, but that sounds quite illogical, because why should Link collect evil stuff? Duke made an extensive game history, and the story of AST is readable here. There's standing that Spoiler: click to toggle I guess the tablets are neutral like the triforce is. It depends on the person who uses them if their force is for the good or evil.

Yes, not only this alternative name hardly seems to make sense according to the in game events, but we've translated the whole game and I'm quite confident we would have realized if the meaning of the name was that different, so it's most likely a mistranslation

Perhaps the thread posted over at the LA forums just ment 'antiquity', rather than 'Iniquity'? That's what I thought when I read the thread title, anyway (that he/she just used the wrong term). Also, kodai and inishie both translate to 'ancient times, antiquity' |

The wikipedia article also uses the title "BS The Legend of Zelda: Stone Tablets of Antiquity". I don't think it sounds as good as Ancient Stone Tablets, but oh well... Anyways it's the same basic meaning, right? |

Word. And wasn't Garrett the one that wrote that article? (Maybe it's been rewritten?) |

lol. Thanks coinilius. That makes much more sense. I was wondering how it was so different to what we thought the title to be. I agree about AST being a better title than SToA ![]() Mohammed Ali |

Stone Tablets of Antiquity is more of a direct translation - Ancient Stone Tablets sounds catchier and has the same meaning, just given a more 'english' structure. |
