I just realized... ALttP's credits track does in fact include a slowed down remix of the original LoZ title music. |

If you want to make it for the remixing's sake, go ahead. But you should be aware that adding music to the game is beyond our skill. If it wasn't, we'd have done so already with AST. |

I think It's better to do first a real title screen; not the original NES screen we are using now. If you search in Google images "BS Zelda" you'll find a capture of the title screen , so the only thing you have to do is a "copy&paste" xD After that, a credits theme is a good idea.

The title screen you're talking about is made by VEL, so it isn't the official one. The actual title screen can be seen on the video posted in the interview thread. |

Having slowed down the LoZ theme on the main page, I have to say that while it's nice, Duke's right... it's already the ending theme (remixed as it is) for ALttP. If anything, if there's a way to actually put in an ending theme and extend the game to what should be a proper ending (credits and all), we should NOT use another "remixed" LoZ theme. As we all know, Map-2 starts off with the "Victory fanfare!" music from the moment you pick up the sword. This is the same music played when you beat Map-1. This can (for all intents and purposes) be the official ending music. I think that should remain the theme and not be changed, unless we want to go for a remixing of the "Thank you" music already included in Map-1 (since that's CLOSEST to the "real" LoZ ending theme) for the closing theme and "Credits" track. That's just my ten cents though.

Hey, every now and then I have to make sense (get it? Cents - sense? Ha!). I'm still wondering where we'd have any room for an ending at all in the game? We'd have to bloat the rom size and alter the header information to allow the extra space in the game for a "Goto credits" option to even work. Can that even be done? I know we could have "scrolling credits" and maybe even an animated opening, instead of a static title screen... but how would you do that? Grrr... we need to know how Roto inserted his title and ending screens. *Annoyed* |

It's not like file selection menus and a title screen have not been fit into it already

Very true. But sadly, my experience and knowledge of game hacking and patching is nil. I'm only good for ideas, speculation, and beta testing. Not developement. So lacking these skills myself, or the next Roto and Nom, I wonder how this will be done. Map-1 seems to no longer matter now that it's beatable... and Map-2 feels almost ingored now.

Sure, making a good rom takes a lot of work, but I trust in Roto and friends. I'm sure we will have a better rom (with all the things we are asking for, like ending credits, title screen etc) in a few months. |
