Many thanks...and wishful thinking. (SPOILERS! :)

First up, I'd like to thank everyone who made this possible. I've only played the first chapter of Ancient Stone Tablets so far, but already I've had a blast with it. The neat little things that happen at certain times make the game surprising and fun. (If I play this very much, I imagine the surprises would go away, but that's true for every game.) It makes me wonder if any of the staff who worked on this later went on to make Majora's Mask.

And that's what brings me here. When I was thinking about this series, a rather crazy idea came into my head...
Does anyone think it may be possible to take this game engine someday and make a 2-D Majora-style game?

Admit it...it's a very enticing idea. :)

I would suggest that such a quest could be built on Week 4, as it ends with Link facing Ganon no matter what. In fact, this could be the basis of the plot. Someone (let's say Impa) foresees that Ganon is about to return in full force at such a time, and there is no way to prevent it. The best that can be done is to meet him when he does arrive, and try to destroy him. Of course, there's no way he will be ready by that time. But...there was a legend regarding a boy who once saved a land named Termina once...

Alright, alright...I'd need some help making the plot non-stupid and obvious. ;)

But anyway, I've thought of the possibilities. If there's a way to tweak the timed events, and even EXPAND them, all sorts of extra cool things can be done. In fact, it may be possible to engineer a "day and night" setup. Taking a cue from the beginning of LttP, let's say that "rain" = "night"; in fact, part of the plot could be that a curse has accompanied the prophecy, causing to to rain every night. (Or not. Just...well...trying to think of SOMETHING.) And if each "day" has different music, that'd be nice as well.

As for the time rewind, pretty much just follow Majora's lead as much as possible. The ultimate prizes and tools gathered from dungeons and other tasks will be spared, naturally, as well as heart pieces. The consumables will be lost. Keep the bow, lose the arrows. Keep the bottles, lose the contents. The rupees...well, that's a tough one.

And the beginning point of the time loop? Perhaps it's when Link first hears the prophecy. In fact, when he DOES go back, it can result in a pretty cute moment. "Link, you're just in time. I have some bad... What? You KNOW already?" :P

So yeah. If it could happen...or if that's what ya'll are hoping to do with AST anyway, it'd be great.

Ah, but the downfall for me is that I have this idea, but no technical know-how to pull it off. All I can hope is that after more is learned about the inner workings of AST, someone can take this idea and make it a reality.

But I'll leave it at that, and I still have some more AST to play now. Thanks for listening! :)

Always happy to get some feedback!

Unfortunately, I'm afraid you won't like what I can say in reply to your suggestion: your idea is so elaborate that it would probably be easier to code an all new game for than to modify AST (the coding of SNES games isn't exactly the friendliest out there).

But do keep dreaming. That's one of the reasons we love Zelda so much isn't it? because it's inspiring ;)

Yeah, I realize my concept was - to put it mildly - over the top. But when I'm playing this game and watching little things happening at precise moments, it's hard to suppress the feeling of "so...much...power!!!" :D

Here's hoping that y'all get the assistance you need to prepare a full-blown complete version of AST. Thanks again! :)
