Hello! I read on Wikipedia that after the first four chapters they released four more, so that you could play the game e second time, with different dungeons and all treasures placed at a different location. I beat BS Zelda a while ago, but didn't know about that and don't have my save game anymore. So I wonder, are those so called "MAP 2" chapters included in the roms that are available on the BS Zelda homepage? And if so, can you play them by beating the original chapters first, like you did on the NES to play the game again? Here the link to the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BS_Zelda Thanks and greetings! althena77 |

It is quite shameful, but as far as we are able to tell, nothing of this map 2 exists to this day outside of Nintendo of Japan headquarters. No one outside of Japan has seen so much as a screenshot of it. If it did exist (and I'm pretty sure it did), it appears no one ever dumped a rom out of it, so unless Nintendo decides to finally release these games proper, this additional quest is lost to us. Sorry to greet you with such an answer... but welcome to the boards still! |

No need to apologize, if anyone should do so, it is Nintendo for never releasing it outside Japan on a cartridge or still never including it into a Zelda collection ![]() So thanks for the reply anyway, at least I have my answer now and don't have to beat the game again just to find out if maybe this way I could get access to this Map 2. Not that beating the game again would be a bad thing, but it would only have been a bigger disappointment if I found out this way that there is no Map 2 so far ![]() So lets hope that one day Nintendo will release it as part of a collection or maybe online for the Wii on Virtual Console. Thanks for welcoming me here and many many thanks to everyone who helped making to game so good playable today ![]() althena77 |

Yep, here's hoping they regain their sanity. Unfortunately, when Cent asked Miyamoto if we might see these games in the west he was given a plain no

It seems that I found the first proof of the existence of Map 2:![]() This gives me hope. It seems to be authentic and emulated. Maybe this rom floats somewhere around in Japan. Also the dungeon letter "N" could get "NINTENDO", which is 8 leters = 8 Dungeons ![]() What do you think? Maybe this guy who made this diary has an e-mail adress too? Image found here Check also the japanese signs below the BS Zelda pic. There is standing MAP2 inbetween them |

Damn, I hate feeling like I'm missing out. Still, I bet without a Roto they can't play all the dungeons ![]() [Edit] Looks like that page was made in 2003... wonder if the guy's still around even. |

Yeah, I have the same feeling I have the good feeling now that we may all be able to play that game soon. This pic is the proof that the game was indeed dumped - somewhere below this pic also stands something about roms... Can SnesGT be the emulator he used? The one who finds the roms will get more than a place in the hall of fame

Unless it is a doctored screenshot to make people like us go "Wow!" And I think he was just writing about how the emulator he was testing could run difficult games like Street Fighter Zero 2 and a BS-X game. |

Wow, this gives me some hope too He seems to be indeed talking about some emulator and is testing it with BS-Zelda Map 2 and talking about a patch to get it running. So as long as it is not a fake the game was dumped, but probably didn't spread very far. Here is his profile, it was updated last time in 2005, so maybe he is still around. There is also an email address he uses for MSN: http://www.cute.or.jp/~makuchan/makupro.html |

You speak Japanese? Why don't you ask him to let us have the rom then? Surely if you show him that we've been busy patching these games (with good results, if I may say) for the last 8 years, he might be interested in seeing what we can make of this one too. |

Well, I just talked to him on MSN, good thing I studied a little Japanese as a hobby a while ago, it was not easy to communicate but well, I think I learned from him what I wanted to know. A very nice and helpful guy by the way ![]() According to him there definitely was a Map-2 of the BS Zelda and the information on Wikipedia are correct. However he is not sure if all 4 chapters were dumped, he made the picture from a patched dump that only contains the first chapter (the first 2 dungeons) ![]() Anyway, I asked him if he could send me the rom he used and he sent it to me by MSN. It seems to be playable with ZSNES (I tried it with ZsneXbox, a ZSNES port for the Xbox). The overworld music is a different one, no idea if this was so on the BS-X too or if this is because of the patching. I played it just a few minutes so far, I will check it out more later. But the overworld looks much different and the first dungeon is not at the same spot anymore (see pictures below I just took). ![]() ![]() Of course this could also be just a hack, but why not trust makuchan for now and his sources for now ![]() Shall I upload it here as an attachment or maybe first I just sent it to you here by email and you make it public later? Edit: Hehe, I didn't read your last post, I was too busy uploading the pictures But anyway, it is already done

That are absolute fantastic news! As far I know in every week the whole package was inside, so maybe we are lucky and have just to patch for the blue candle and so on to play this game to the end. Please send the rom to Duke and me, the mail adresses are dukeserkol@bszelda.zeldalegends.net con.s@gmx.de Many thanks! |

I WANT THIS GAEM IN MY PANTS!!! Now we just need someone like Roto to fix it up... I wonder if Tre's codes work with it. They could maybe be used to bypass the problems until proper patching can be done. Heck, this might be good enough news to bring Possum out of retirement.
