Well, before Euclid made his editor for AST, he had tested things just by editing values, I think. So whatever Euclid used is probably what you need, so you might want to ask Euclid about it. |

That is a good idea. Though I don't have anything to edit the values in the first place. That's where I'm lacking any experience or programs. But at least on the plus side we'll be able to change the weeks with a patch. That's all I cared about getting to work. I could rest happy and let someone with experience take it from here.

I am sure you already tried that and so just to make absolutely sure that this is not overseen: In the Hall of Fame Rotos name is listed along with an old email address. Probably not valid a long time but I am not sure and so just in case you are not too

Thanks, actually I didn't know I could find it there. ![]() I plan to use the email addys to search for them, not as a way to contact, because I already know that if they still worked, that Duke would still would be in communication with them.

As he was a skilled hacker it is quite obvious that he had projects before BS Zelda. I certainly don't see it as an impossibility and his name is mentioned in the readme. The e-mail address is different however, dunno whether it's newer or older. |

A new patch is brought to you now! The gender patches allowing you to switch between girl mascot. It is worth noting that this patch replaces the graphics, so it's compatible with all emulators, but if the genders change something else it will not be affected by these patches: http://real_hotdog.sitesled.com/Pictures/bszm2_gender.zip |

I apologize for the delay, but it seems that Duke needs some time longer for the update and the "candy" as expected. Unfortunately I have no longer time to wait for it (I have also to add some stuff to it), so this will be uploaded tomorrow. However, I do not want you to wait much longer for the update so, get the headered rom with sound, flobbasko's patch and translation applied here and all the 4 savestates by clicking here You will hear sound and can play with v151 with zsnes using these states! Again - sorry And many thanks for the gender patch This is a required patch!

That's some nice work Con, I approve. I have to ask, have you played through to make sure that the time crack hasn't caused any trouble in the game and how it is handled?I'm looking forward to playing around with this, and waiting for that candy. No need to apologize! Edit: I have noticed that in 1.42 it is still making the "victory!" theme play from the moment you get the sword. Not that this is a problem for me, but I thought I would point that out. So far it seems like the game is running correctly though. |

I've checked the timer on it... it doesn't crash after 57, which is awesome. And the English seems alright so far. The sound still changes to the "victory!" theme from when you pick up the sword onward... but that's likely because I'm using 1.42 and won't upgrade it. Ever. ![]() I'll see what tomorrow brings. It's 6pm here as you're hitting the hay. Thanks for putting a patched up version online.

Okay. I've done a little bit of beta testing here, and this is what I've noticed. While playing the ~normal~ game (with the patches, but NO savestates) 1: The mascot is girl at start of game 2: Game timer is at 18:07 3: Wait signs correct at - 18:10, 18:20, 18:30, 18:35, 18:40, 18:45, 18:53 4: Timer events correct at - 18:10, 18:15, 18:18, 18:20, 18:28, 18:33, 18:35, 18:38, 18:40, 18:43, 18:45, 18:53 5: ALL in-game text is CORRECT (at least within the allowed areas of week 1) That said, I noticed a bug in Week 1's save state. NOTHING MAJOR, but this is just for bug reporting. Aside from the normal "changes" with save stating, that is. 1: The mascot is a boy. This in itself is NOT a glitch, as importing the save state and even save ram will turn the mascot into a boy. Same with using certain cheats with the "code_fix_new" patch. 2: Timer starts at 0:07. I assume this is still to bypass that seven minute download problem, but I've not checked. 3: ALL "Wait" signs display incorrect text. It appears as this: "BCD EFGHIJKLMNOP" "RST UVWXYZ" "Wait" 4: Timer events occur correctly, as do the "Wait" events. 5: All text (aside from the "Wait" signs) are also correct. THAT is the extent of the "report" for the first save state. I have NOT played through the other weeks yet, and won't have the time to do that tonight, but I still wanted to share what I've found in Zsnes 1.42 with you guys. Also, Real Hotdog, your patch DOES change the mascot into a boy if you use it on the original (and the current patch rom posted here), but I wasn't able to get it to turn ~back~ into the girl. I don't know if this is because you shouldn't piggy-back a patch onto the same game you patched, or if it's because of something else. But that's cool. This should definitely come in handy when it comes to making a Link patch and other types. |

Such as voice sound effects. But it's still a good job and we'll add the patch to the site. Tomorrow *dies from exhaustion* |

I haven't noticed a difference in the sounds made by the mascot... the pure rom and the savestates added onto it keep the same "oomf!" sound, at least to me it does. But I do think I recall the boy making a different noise. |

That's a good point. I'm sure the shops and the old man are the same text but there is some text in the dungeons that is specific for that dungeon. For example, the old man in Dungeon 8 says, "The ones next door can show you to the arrow." This quote would not apply to Map2's Dungeon 8. Its likely that some of the dungeons in Map2 have specific directions like this. Duke, do you still talk to the person that translated AST? Althena, could you check the text to since you can read Japanese? |
