Oh, my writing was too fast here: I was indeed speaking about the green spot which is away (as well as the dungeon spots?). That thing with the dungeon belonged yet to the next report.
Guess it's up to Duke how much from Map 2 he takes as reference to Map 1 and how much he sees as a "corrected glitch". But interesting finding ![]()
*lol* don't worry Tre, you know all my secrets

It's difficult to pinpoint them through words anymore than I have already. Anyway Map2 is displaying the red dots correctly because it has the first Week as default. Map1 also added the missing dots as you completed more dungeons, only it started with those that you'd normally see at the start of Week3 already there, even when playing with Week1's timed events. |

I guess that makes sense. I don't know enough about how the games were dumped and patched to really say anything significant about it.

A few days later than intended, but here are the final savestates required for Map-2. I consider this "Version 2" of Con's Male Mascot, and it can be found in the usual place. http://www.geocities.com/life_of_tre/BSZeldaStuff.html I don't think I'll be making more savestates for Map-2 for a long while... unless someone can get the Zelda patch to actually let me save Link instead of Zelda. So it's all done. Hurray! No more work on this for me. Yay! *Dances and runs away before I have to make more savestates* |

You're welcome. Eventually I would like to make a Zelda savestate collection, but while I can play as Zelda, I can't rescue Link like you're supposed to, and the NPCs don't quite look right. So that's a ~way~ later on in the future project. For now, I'm going to relax and watch Map-2 being repaired. |

Great  I'll upload it later! Many, many thanks for your effort. If you would not have already a place in the Hall of Fame below "People who helped making this page" - I'd add you there! But I also don't want to have the effort you made unrewarded, so I'll write you also below "Super Players"! I think after beating this for you "low level" game 4 times in a row and seeing only Octorocs all day and night you really deserve it ![]() However, I think also if Roto's patch get's fixed for Map 2 one, if not all savestates, keep on being important. If I e.g. want to examine something important in Week 4 then I now don't have to play the whole game from beginning to the end. And your savestates work as well in Map 1 as in Map 2

Thanks Con. And if the patches manage to negate and make obsolete the savestates for "testing" purposes, I could always create "debugger" saves that'd get the same job done. And heh... the Octorocks are going to eat me. They're plotting. I can tell. |

Well you kind of did ask. I see Map-2 as being the retarded little brother to Map-1 now, because I can zoom through the game rather easily. I've played the same eight dungeons so many times (7 and 8 once per savestate pack, 5 and 6 twice, 4 and 5 three times, then 1 and 2 four times) that I know where everything is. Not to mention that this map was WAY too short and easy for me. The only thing that kept me from doing the final savestates a LOT sooner was work, my girlfriend, and my eyes wanting to pop out of their socket from staring at the same levels over and over.

Now you know how I felt when I wrote the AST guide... ...not that I regret it, but, still, it's not easy being the first in the world to write about a game. All I had to go by was Fyxe's week 1 coverage. |

Yes, Garrett, now I know how you felt. Well... on a lesser scale. I've done only ~one~ walkthru, and having to play the same ~parts~ of a game, not even just the entire dungeon, but every PART of that dungeon, the overworld, everything... over and over just to make sure it was 100% accurate. And then having to type it all up, spell check, grammar check, and lastly read it to make sure it wasn't utter crap when it's read... ugh. I'll NEVER do another walk-thru because of it. |
