This are good news too, if you really could find a way to get all the missing items and dungeons out there, this would be awesome ![]() By now I beat the first two dungeons and I walked all around the world using bombs but right there is no way to get anywhere else. I found the letter for the old woman and the woman herself selling those heal drinks, some rooms with money in there, an old man you can play the money making game with and one giving you some information, but nothing that would allow you to get any further (for example the candle). Some things are a little strange about this rom and maybe need to be patched, for example: -right now there is only one music all the time, on the overworld and in the dungeons and unfortunately it is not the Zelda theme. -killed enemies give you only blue rubies or fairies all the time, no red rubies or hearts. Oh, and by the way the second dungeon really looks like the letter I, so the idea that all the dungeons together will make the word N-I-N-T-E-N-D-O is not that far fetched ![]() ![]() ![]() Right now no way to get over there ![]() All right, I will send you both the rom now Hmm, your Email-address is a gmx.de one, so I guess you are from Germany? I am from Germany too, so I hope it is ok if I write you in German ![]() Greetings! althena77 |

That's just fantastic Althena! I'll make a page about this game and upload it within the night (it's 21:30 here)possibly also one with those pictures. Thank you so much! (<-I swore the never use this smily, but this just calls for it ) That is, if I can stop playign the heck out of this game. Looks like Con is not feeling good... or maybe too good? And Garrett... just how much stuff do you have there by now? |

Yay for double posting. Just wanted to clear up the music thing since I do know what music it is and possibly why it's playing. It is most likely a glitch. This music is no other than the celebratory fanfare the other BS Zelda plays if you leave the (first and) last cave after saving Zelda. When you do, the game starts anew for what little time you still had before the shut down (or forever if you applied a time crack). That, and the limited selection of items the nemies drop, I believe are vents that are not being triggered correctly. By the way, I assume this is the already patched game. When you have the chance, could you ask Makuchan for the original dump too? Both for "historical" preservation and so that rom hackers can study it (might be helpful) By the way, if you think about it, there's really no reason to doubt that this is the real thing. I mean, who'd go edit the game so you could only play the first two dungeons? It's clearly playing the first week just as it should ![]() When we did not have Roto's patch, we found that different emulators would play different weeks... wonder if that might happen again. |

That sounds promising, I will see what I can do. Right now it is in Japan deep in the night and I talked to him just before he went to bed, but I will try to talk to him again asap on MSN, maybe tomorrow or at least one day coming this week. |

That's alright, no hurry. Now to test the game with SNES9X... Edit: Ah no difference... well we have other aces up our sleeves. And so many patches to try... the time crack ought to work, then we can cheat our way to the candle and so on. |

I'm going to play this game now... it tickles in my fingers. I have to look, but I assume that only a patch is applied to prevent the waiting time. The game crashes e.g. after 57 minutes... |

According to Makuchans page, there is a patch on the rom that lets the game start at 18:07. Not sure why and if this is important, though But maybe this information helps ![]() |

See, the BS Zelda games normally won't let you start until after those 7 minutes. There has been much debate over time as to why this happens. Some people believe the game tries looking for something that should be in the (unemulated) BS-X hardware and eventually gives it up. others believe the game was supposed to start only at that time and that in those seven minutes it was to play a sequence with a title screen introdution and other stuff. What everybody agrees upon though is that it's annoying, so it gets patched out ![]() Geez, it had been ages since I last saw those "Listen Up" red flashy signs. And is it just me (or the newest ZSNES) or did they add a new sound effect for getting hurt? |

The update is done, the game is up for grabs! Althena, you're going to have your name in the hall of fame, but I'm letting Con add that lest I destroy his tables

Thanks for your explanation of the 7 minutes and mentioning me in the update ![]() I just checked again what emulator Makuchan was using on his website and it is the SNESGT 0.12. Now I downloaded a later version (0.163b) here from Zophars Domain and loaded the rom with this and surprise, you play with the male mascot ![]() http://www.zophar.net/snes.html

Dum dee dum... I wonder if our Japanese friend ever got in here. Oh and thanks for the emulator information, I'll have to add that to the site. Does it still play the ending fanfare with that? |

Ok, I played till the end of D3 now. It is possible through patching for the blue candle. I also checked the way to dungeon 5 and it is blocked by a whirlpool. But if you patch for the stepladder you can get access through a detour. I did not check D 7 and 8 yet, but I guess the statues won't move and you have to patch for the Power Braclet. So guys, I think I have good news and the game is playable until D8. We have to check if we can apply Roto's patch to beat Ganon afterwards Oh and Spoiler: click to toggle

This is very exciting news! Great find althena77 *thumbs up* I actually posted a link to makuchan's diary awhile ago (a long while ago) after finding a reference to MAP 2 on it, but my ability to read Japanese is atrocious and we never worked out anything more about it

By the three goddesses of the Triforce You got the blue candle so early and already made it to the third dungeon and further?!?! Did you use a patch from the original BS Zelda or did you make a new one so fast?Oh, and when I play BS Zelda Map 2 with SNESGT 0.163b it won't play any music at all, except for the short fanfare when you get the sword and probably later important items. I entered the first dungeon and there was also music. Ah, and you have sound effects. When I play the game with ZsnXbox (ZSNES) on my Xbox the sound effect when I get hit by an enemy sounds more like the digital voice of a girl, when I play it with SNESGT more like on the old BS Zelda and probably it is supposed to sound like a boy. So maybe they made two sound effects depending on if you play with the male or female character. I found out that there is an even more up to date version of SNESGT on their official homepage, version 0.205. However this will not run on my computer right now and I feel a little bit too tired now to try any longer, so I will continue testing it tomorrow. http://gigo.retrogames.com/download.html Good night everybody

Oh, that is sad that we didn't have althena77 at that time - otherwise we could have been able to play this game earlier But anyway - better late than never  |
