If my original Map-1 codes don't work, I could always try to use Zsnes and cobble together a few "item" and "time" codes to see what we can find. It is likely this is an authentic version of the Map-2 dump, and as stated before, the first dumped copy of Map-1 had ~everything~ in it... it just needed to be hacked around a bit to get the weeks working. Either way, try the original codes I created (I'm sure it'll work) and if not, I'll give it a shot. Mind you, I'm having troubles with time, as I'm working non-stop lately... but there's always the weekends ~_^ |

Ah, that was unlucky that you didn't find the pic. If you did so we would have asked Makuchan maybe that time yet.
Yesss, they all work fine Check The Online WalkthroughIf we are lucky also Roto's patch is applyable. I mean all dungeons are at the same place, so there's a high probability that also Ganon's lair is at the entrance cave and we can get inside

Hmmm... I can't remember how Roto did manage it... maybe both the amount of triforce=6 and the time (was it x:48 when it got dark?) have to be correct... But I have to go to bed now ![]() Cu tomorrow

Well, before really going to bed I played a little more with SNESGT 0.163b I noticed that there killed enemies won't leave blue rubies and faeries all the time, but also red rubies and small hearts. In my ZSNES on my Xbox you "only" get blue rubies and fairies. Lets see if I can resist the Map 2 now long enough to fall asleep

So it looks like SNESGT is the emulator that plays the game the most faithfully. Anyway, I've been able to get in all the dungeons except 6. That one was time related in the other game, so I'm afraid that'll be a problem :\ At any rate, I don't want to drink up the game in a gulp, so I'll play through dungeons 5, 7 and 8 tomorrow (or in the following days even)

Dungeon 6 was one of the things that Makuchan was talking about on the page I linked The ocarina tile on the beach wasn't there/wouldn't appear. Maybe Althena could shed some light on it?

Out of complete curiousity, I used the original "All Triforce" code (7E74-39FF) and it did give me all of the triforce pieces... however, so far it didn't seem to do anything to the week (even the objectives are still set for Week 1). Plus having the time jump to 3:45 (when you can confront Ganon) does nothing more than give you infinite bombs. So it's likely there is a different time set for the events (including the tile for Lv. 6)... or these have to be hard coded through a patch to force the week changes to happen. |

Yeah the game plays as week1, regardless of how many Triforce part you may actually get. It was Roto that coded it to switch week upon getting determined parts. We need a patch/codes to pick the correct week/set of timed events. |

Since the extent of the codes I have created are nothing more than "this instead of that" in nature, and don't actually dig deep into the code (anyone with patience could do the codes I've made), I doubt that I could find the section of code in the rom that adjusts the week. I'd have to actually find the code ~while~ the rom switches weeks natively. So we need to have someone with actual experience in digging into the rom itself, with an editor program, and find the trigger. |

Maybe you could use the other game (map ;)) and study the moment when getting the second fourth etc. Triforce parts? Just an idea. |

From what I saw in Map-1, the moment you gained the Triforce pieces naturally, it jumped the time to represent the correct week. I tried using the Triforce code before, and "proved" that it was patched this way. The event trigger to switch the weeks became linked to the Triforce pieces collected. The problem with this is, the address viewer in Zsnes (which I have always used to get my codes) doesn't find that event trigger... only the number of Triforce I collect. Meaning that I would need a hex viewer to find it outside of the game while the game is going. Which I don't have. I wish I knew how Roto and Nom did their patches, because if we had a clue about how they did the weeks and other tweaks to the code, then we'd have a much better chance of "natural" week changes. Edit: Okay, I'm going to admit I know nothing about how the patches work in the games... but looking at the information included with Dreamer Nom's patch I found a section addressing the WEEK and TIME events. I'll give you that here: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [load_week.ips] = Loads the correct week when starting a game ; Stored hours ==> Different results (week parameter) $CC:0035 AD B3 00 LDA $00B3 [$00:00B3] A:FF02 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdizc HC:644 VC:240 00 $CC:0038 F0 16 BEQ $16 [$0050] A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdizc HC:676 VC:240 00 $CC:003A C9 01 CMP #$01 A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdizc HC:692 VC:240 00 $CC:003C D0 03 BNE $03 [$0041] A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdizC HC:708 VC:240 00 $CC:003E 4C DF 00 JMP $00DF $CC:0041 C9 02 CMP #$02 A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdizC HC:730 VC:240 00 $CC:0043 D0 03 BNE $03 [$0048] A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdizC HC:746 VC:240 00 $CC:0045 4C 6E 01 JMP $016E $CC:0048 C9 03 CMP #$03 A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdizC HC:768 VC:240 00 $CC:004A D0 03 BNE $03 [$004F] A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdiZC HC:784 VC:240 00 $CC:004C 4C 1F 02 JMP $021F [$00:021F] A:FF03 X:0012 Y:000A D:0000 DB:00 S:1FFC P:envMXdiZC HC:800 VC:240 00 ** change to = CC:0035 *** ; Calculate week based on triforce pieces A2 00 LDX #$00 20 37 87 JSR $8737 (see below) 18 CLC 0A ASL A AA TAX 7C 40 00 JMP ($0040),x 50 00 (week1) DF 00 (week2) 6E 01 (week3) 1F 02 (week4) EA x 7 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, I don't know if that means ~anything~ to ~anyone~... but it's possible that this might have a little helpful information. I did try using both Nom patches (old and new) and they both crashed the moment that the game started, much like Roto's won't even load the game. So it looks like all new patches are needed here. |
