WOW!!! I'm definately shocked. This is even better than Euclid and Duke restoring the indoors of AST. Well thanks a million Althena77. BS Zelda has had an unbelievable year. Althena77, I know Duke briefly mentioned this but I met Miyamoto at an autograph signing in New York city in September 2005. I showed him a picture of AST and BSLOZ and asked him if he would re-release it and he said "No" emphatically. He did not recognize the games at first which was kind of funny. This was even a couple of months after they announced you could download old Nintendo games on the "Revolution" so I would be shocked if they re-release them. Thanks again for finding this.

Heck, this might be good enough news to bring Possum out of retirement.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

Freaking best day of my life. TODAY IS THE BEST DAY EVA! Thanks Duke for showing me on MSN as I only check the site once every couple of weeks (and that would be a tragedy for me to not find out for another month). I'd say that Garrett's assumption of me coming out of retirement for this is correct. I want to play the ROM a.s.a.p. and then I'll start a "things I was right/wrong about" thread for map2. This is an amazing day.

Oh my gosh, I'm about to pee my pants. (brb ;))

Äsch... I don't know if these two events are comparable
Euclid and Duke did make much effort to develope the patches. Without them many people (so as I) would have never played AST.

This jewel is not a result of hard work but of lucky events:
Althena77 did ask at this forum something about Map 2, and I got interested. So I searched the web and fortunately found that image of Map 2 on Makuchan's webpage.
Also, fortunately, Althena77 can speak japanese and was thus capable to ask Makuchan if the game was dumped and if he has a copy of it... and luckily he had one :D

:rotflmho: :D :D :D :D :D Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :rotflmho:

This is a further important step in the history of the BS Zelda Homepage since its mission started eight years ago - we have all BS Zelda games now, and have them in a good condition. Now we could only need one more skilled hacker like Roto or Dreamer Nom and.... mission accomplished :stalfos:
(Ok, NOW I'm maybe a little bit too optimistic B) )

Ah, but hard work or not, Cent has a point: AST we could already play before Euclid and I made our patch. Sure the indoors lacked walls and several puzzles were lost because of this, but the game was there for us to play. This Map 2, however, is an entirely new game (or at least, set of maps) which we could not play before yesterday, indoors or not.

Oh and I dobelieve we will at least be able to get into Dungeon 6 sometime in the not so far future. Maybe Ganon's lair too.

Speaking of D6, the location is quite strange. It should be on that little island with the 4 boulders. But none of these boulders is moveable... I wonder if you have to move the boulder so that the podest appears.

BTW: have you been able to apply Roto's Patch to this game? Whenever I try it will crash :(

Maybe this trick works for Ganon too?

Victory! :link:

Wonder if this works for Ganon too. I meant to try that save state Roto made before his patch, but don't have the time now (I need to have lunch and go to lesson)

Oh BTW, forgot to add this yesterday, but the Heart Container still washes ashore south of there.

Just tried those with ZsneXbox and seems they work a little but not properly.

First you have this "listen carefully" screen again, after that you see Ganon appears and disappears again. When you enter the room, you see an entrance at the top of it, however it is blocked by some messed of graphics you cannot pass. The same happens when playing with the mascot, just there is no "listen carefully" message. Ah, and the music hangs after a few seconds, however you hear the theme of the last dungeon for a moment.

Hehe - I'm the first who fought Ganon in map 2 :) YESSSS :cthulhu:

:P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

Since this doesn't work with the Link patch, I guess this was the reason why the graphic was messed up for you Althena77.

Nice job, glad to hear that the rom indeed contained the whole game and it can be beaten.

So as long as there is no further patch available, is there a way to play it more or less normally from the beginning till the end?

Maybe if I first beat Map-1 again and prepare the save states for level 6 and Ganon? So when I play Map-2, after Level 5 I just load the save state and when I have the Triforce complete just load the other one?

My thoughts exactly, we found an entirely new game. AST was playable prior to this. We now have all 3 BS Zelda games! Great job Con on finding the 6th dungeon and Ganon's lair. I know its way to early to ask this but, Duke and Con, are you going to do a walkthrough for Map2 like you did with Map1? I think it will be very helpful since it seems complicated on how you get to some of the dungeons. Also is Zsnes 1.14 the best emulator to use?

The next thing are the blockades. I tried to get the white sword after D3 but there were too many tornados. When I now checked this area after D8 they were all gone. Same is for the Lost Woods and the whirlpool which blocks D5. Can anybody who plays just now keep an eye on that? I mean to check when they are gone... maybe they disappear because of the trick with using a Map1 Savestate? This could be an important clue for a later patch!

Anyway,

That's one possibility, or you make it like me through patching: start Map 1, forward the week through 7E7439F0, then adjust the mintes with 7FFFFF23. Do the trick and patch for every item else you need.

But it's awful to patch for every item you've collected. So, we could need 2 zst files to provide on the webpage. One after you entered D6 and left again, so that the flute panel is there and you have to play the flute to enter the dungeon.
The other one for Ganon - a savestat where you start exterior his cave would be great :)

Also Tre made some nifty cheat files (*.cht) for Map 1.
Maybe he can invent one to use before Ganon and one before D6?

We should in both cases discuss what for items (e.g. white sword, blue ring?) and how many HC's (only 11 from the dungeons or more?) the hero shall have in the savestates as well as in the cht files.

Thanks  Definitive are we going to do the same procedure as we did for Map 1 - that means an enirely new walkthrough with all the map pics also!

From what I've read here, the original cheats I made ~do~ work flawlessly with Map2... or the Blue Candle would not work.

Although it would be nicer to just have a .cht file with ~only~ the important cheats needed, I have tried to use the "timer" codes to make Ganon appear... which did nothing.

I do seriously think that the only real way, would be to use a patch file to force the weeks to work. Nom and Roto ~did~ leave some notes on ~how~ the weeks and timer events are handled in their patch documentation... and while I don't like to have to ask Euclid and Duke to do another patch so soon after AST, they have the experience that I do not. And it might be possible to use their clues to be able to fix this game.

Though the codes ~would~ be a nice "meanwhile!" trick. Right now I'm majorly busy with work and other obligations, but I could cobble together a quickie for Zsnes at least. I stopped using Snes9x when I got the new computer... but I might be nice enough to reload it and make codes if you ask. :P
I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.

I was a little confused on your wording. So you are eventually planning on doing a whole new walkthrough with pics etc?

You see, as mentioned above, in my game the week has changed because all the blockades like the Whirlwind/Tornados/Lost Woods were vanished when I checked after Dungeon 8. I guess this has happened because I loaded the save state of Map1 (it was week 3 that time) into Map 2 to get access to D6. It may be possible that, if we load a save state of week 4 into map 2, the Amos statues move and we are able to get access to Ganon in a "normal way" (I have to check this this afternoon after work). This finding may help to develope a patch that shifts the weeks. Or, we find out why Roto's patch doesn't work.

Thanks a lot :) And sure, take your time! I'm also the opinion that we should include the "minimum" package, which means e.g. 11 HC.

Yes, but of course my old walkthrough will be the template, bacause the cheats, bestiary
Spoiler: click to toggle
and so on are pretty much the same. Are the Time Related Events also the same?

Then we need new map pics of the overworld and dungeons like you see here - spoiled and not spoiled :)
