Wow, I haven't been here in a while. I wasn't expecting to come back to something this exciting. I had no idea that even a rumor of this Map 2 existed. Nice find Althena77.

If you play the game with SNESGT you'll have the male mascot instead, so it doesn't really surprise me that little things like that determine the gender.

I just hope a clean solution to week-changing can be found. I've got a few ideas that I'll mess around with tomorrow, but I'm not getting my hopes up...

You are welcomed, have fun while playing

I tested Flobbasko's time crack, but unfortunately this patch doesn't work too. It would be fine if we have a patch which prevents the japanese signs and the gamecrash (until we hopefully get Roto's patch to work...)

That's strange. Which one did you use? The 1st or the 2nd (bszld 1 or bszld2.ips)?

I've posted at a message before that the white sword is not to get in Map2 in Week 2 - that was wrong, I just did not have the 5 HC's when I tried. This amount is needed needed to get it.

Another cool finding regarding the Whirlwinds that I didn't know until now:
Spoiler: click to toggle

Use bszld1.ips, but be careful the patch need a headered rom. The rom in the site had no header. ;)

Oh, I have to admit - I have no idea how to insert a header to a rom ;)

Could you just send me the rom, please? con.s@gmx.de
Thanks :)
I'm going to upload it to the site then. Do also the japanese waiting signs disappear?

Just want to report that the Cons save states also work just fine on the latest ZsnexBox (ZSNES port on Xbox) so if you are like me and prefer playing this game with a console on a tv, here is a possibility :)
You just have to name all the save states to *.ZST and put them in the slot0, slot1 and slot2 folders for your BS Zelda Map-2 rom as this emulator sorts the save state slots by folders.

One little request about this: When I start the first week on my Xbox I always play the female mascot and also I have the "problem" that all killed enemies leave blue rubies. When I use the save states I play the male mascot and also the problem with the rubies is fixed (also can get red ones). So maybe Con, could you also upload a save state from the very beginning of the game, just before the male mascot goes down to get the sword?

Oh, and thanks for creating these, hope I will have some more time to play the whole game soon :D

No, unfortunately they don't. They were disabled in the patch by Roto.

EDIT:
After some tinkering I've managed to create a working music restoration patch. Download it from here: http://real_hotdog.sitesled.com/Pictures/bzsndm2_mus.zip
Make sure you apply it on a rom with a header.

I just wanted you guys to know I've been reading all of the comments, and I wanted to thank everybody for working so hard to the game to play naturally. You guys made amazing progress in the past week. I would help but this is way over my head. Keep up the good work.

Me and my bad testing. The patch works perfectly in SNESGT which is what I use for playing, but if you want to use it in another emulator you will quickly notice that the graveyard music starts playing.
In order to prevent this, you will have to create a srm for the game by using SNESGT and copy it so that the emulator you want to use finds it. This also fixes the problems where enemies would only leave blue rupees or faeries when defeated.

Good luck with whatever it is you're working on there Garrett. I am rather curious what you're up to.

And Real Hotdog your patche seems rather interesting especially that you fixed the sound like that... though I have to ask how you and Eddzzz put the header onto your copies of the game? And have you tried using Roto's patch on the headed rom you have? I think that the header might be a part of the solution...

Edit: Okay, after having tried out "SNESTL12" (I downloaded this from Zophar's domain) I was able to add a header to pbszeldam2.smc and get the music patch to work... however, since I'm using Zsnes 1.42 to play, the music stayed ~normal~ until the instant I touched the Wooden Sword. At this point the "You beat the game!" fanfair music plays onward. I'm not suprised at this, but I had to test it out myself for the fun of it. I'm happy that I was able to "header" the game myself...
I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.
