This is me being confused... which "inbox" are you talking about? I checked my email account, nothing but Con's last email to me... and the PM inbox here is empty too.

Yeah... when someone in on the joke is so confused at this point and wondering if you really ~did~ email something... the joke went too long. I think my brain is fried from playing Zelda too darned much.

Was the music hacked in, or was it already in the game and restored? |

In both maps the music is ~restored~ by Roto's/Real_Hotdog's/my patch. There are some opcodes like c901 f014 which just had to be disabled with no operations (eaea) and the music is played. Disabling these opcodes is asumeable necessary due to the live voice doesn't appear. |

Yes it is. http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/ce.shtml is where you will find the page with Con's "Third Quest" rom... which of course features the new ending and title screens. (And if you're lazy and want to just see the ending screen, you'll want to use my "have all triforce" code and beat Ganon to see it) |

Embarked on a Quest
|
Hey, I thought I'd try this new Classic Edition. It's great, but the frame rate on my emulator of choice (ZSNES v. 1.51) is slower than usual, especially when there are a lot of enemies on the screen. |

It's not you. The Third Quest rom has serious slowdown issues not normally present. Something must be burning up alot of cpu time leaving little for the game engine.

I've noticed this is the case on 1.51 also, try running Zsnes at the same resolution you have your desktop set to. For me I am at 1024x768 with the game running at "Fullscreen", with the "Scale" option chosen. This should ease up ~some~ of the slowdown issues (as well as that minor graphic wrinkle that happens sometimes). For Third Quest, 1.42 seems to be the better choice for playing, as it releaves a LOT of slowdown.

Thanks for this bug report. I'll drop a line that this game shouldn't be played with zsnes 1.5x as soon I update again ![]() Could be caused by the recall of the graphics routines to place the title screen inbetween or so. |
