Mission Accomplished!; :)

Yes, where shall I begin… It’s Friday the 13th , so it is an absolute must to update at this date with all the news.
With the fix patches for map 2, Third and Fourth Quest, my mission is accomplished and according to Duke’s suggestion I added a mission accomplished to my signature ;)
This pic shows exactly what I’d like to do now after I began in January with fixing the time patch by DN :P

I would have never dreamt that I come this far… and without Tre I actually would have never managed, so he is the real Hero behind these patches.
He was my ~only~ support in all this time and you can ask him how exhausting the time was. However, there are at least 2 names, which I could credit in my Fourth Quest title screen: Euclid for the attempt to support me, and Real_Hotdog who made the first patches for Map 2.

When I founded this Homepage I ever saw it as a common project and me as a mediator to animate people to work on this game. We, the webmasters, are no aristocratic regime (even if one of us calls himself Duke ;) ), but we are dependent on your ideas, support and help to make this lost Zelda game complete!

I am glad that after Roto, Dreamer_Nom, Euclid and Duke I myself could give BS Zelda a piece of more completion, but don’t expect anything more from me: I can understand now why Roto and DN left us and I will also follow in their footsteps.

This shall say that I make my retirement official, or take at least a very, very long, and very deserved break and watch the progress more or less from the distance…

Here are the things you can expect to be updated in the near or far future:
- AST ideas and pix (there are still crappy pix and the note that the walls have to be fixed)
- a better intro for map 2 (depends on Euclid I assume)
- story for BS Zelda in the Zelda canon storyline (I’m curious what Duke’s magical finger can make out of the small fragements we saw in the video)
- Map 2 walkthrough and Dungeon pix

More important but less easy to realize are
- AST ingame music
- Intro for AST
- Rain in week 4 and Magic Cape (if Duke and Euclid decide to go for it)

Less important (but still nice if we’d have it fix) are all the other ideas and glitches in the ideas section.

But… All BS Zelda games are now playable from the beginning to the end and this was my goal when I founded the BS Zelda Homepage! So, my mission is accomplished and I can leave… but I’ll keep my promise: if I feel that I get support I will still give support. Other than this I leave the future of these fantastic games to Duke’s excellent hands and the next generation :)

I'm no real hero, Con, but I appreciate very much the support and kindness you have extended to me too. It's quite funny... I started on this website just to say "Thanks for the patches to make this game look less like crap!" and over the course of time ended up making the bulk of the PAR codes, and doing untold hours of playtesting that I never expected. I think I've done "my part" in the playtesting role... and much like Con, I'm "retiring" unofficially. This doesn't mean I won't still show up to the forum, or see what's up and give support when I'm needed.

But I swear by my mighty hammer, that if I EVER have to stare at these mascots for six hour straight sessions again, I will kill people. ;)

Con. Thank you deeply for making Map-1 and Map-2 as complete as humanly possible at this point in time. I admit that I bit off a little more than I expected, but it was very worth it. And thanks also to all the members who have thrown in their patches and their ideas that ended up instrumental in making the games playable. My only regret is that I never really playtested AST while it was still in the works, because then I could have helped Duke like I did you.

Ah well... there's always the "merged AST rom" project to playtest... :D

Enjoy your hiatus, and thanks again!
I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.

Con, thanks for all of your hard work. Map 2 will be enjoyed for generations to come. Congratulations. I will finally play map 2 now. I was waiting for it be "fixed" until I played it. Enjoy your retirement and make sure you stop by and say Hi. Well I guess we can focus back on restoring AST.

Congrats Con. It really is quite impressive what has been done to BS-Zelda considering the state it was in at first. I just hope eventually it can be fixed to work as well as it does on emulators for copiers.

Thanks *lol*

Now... I'll not completely abondon - I can't since we almost daily get great news now like a new video or whatever :)

But the work I did the last month exhausted me, so I move a bit into the shadows and watch only the progress ;)

It's a bit late but congratulations on all the work you've done, Con - you deserve a break after all that hard work :) I hope we still see you around the forums, though :(

Don't worry, I've put a tracer in his neck... he won't run too far off. :P
