I'm a fan of the legend of zelda games and would be down to put together the audio track. A question I have would it be possable to hack the BS BIOS to download from a diffrent server? Or yet just recreate the whole BS-X system for windows. |

Unfortunately, I doubt that it is possible to do something like that. Simulating the whole BS-X system on windows/teh internet, I mean. We hope someday to make it so that high quality audio tracks can be streamed into the games, but that is beyond out abilities, so we need to find someone with the knowledge to pull it off (we know that can be done because it has been done with Breath of Fire 2 and some Sonic game/s) As for ramking/put together the audio "track" in English... what is it you mean exactly? You see, at this time we only have partial videos from the first weeks of the games. So we don't have all the voice acting and know not what was said besides those bits we have. We do know that AST used music from the original ALttP and remixed tracks taken from the sountrack CD Zelda Sound & Drama. These are made available on the site, so as far as AST goes, we've got all the music (supposedly at least) and only not know when each piece was used. The same cannot be said for the original BS Zelda. This game used exclusive remixed music (mostly based on the first NES Zelda, of course) and we have only been able to hear short bits of these through the one video we've got of Makuchan playing through week 1. We hope that someday Makuchan will make available the full video (it had to be cut down to ten minutes because YouTube wouldn't accept anything longer) ...but if you really would like to help and do not wish to wait for this eventuality, you could perhaps try to recreate the remixed tracks from what we can hear in said video (after all, they ARE remixed tracks, so once you get the rythm and instrument the missing parts may be figured out by litening to the original music from the NES game). In particular there's original track that is heard when the old man speaks as I doubt that the track was ever heard in its entirety (since it would get cut off as soon as he was done speaking). Con loves it and since it's the one music not featured in any other Zelda I too would love to have an mp3/wav of it. Here is a link to the video if you want to try: http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/videotran1.shtml (notice that the first part, the loading of the game, has some tracks taken directly from Mario games and ALttP. There's no need to worry about those. The only new music in it would be the one heard while talking with the Fortune Teller, with the gong and female chorus) Thanks for kindly offer your help, we appreciate it

Sorry for the late reply. I wasn't sure if I would even get a reply from that post, but I'm working on it as we speak.

It sounds rather close to the original in the video. The tone seems a little higher though, but I think I'll wait for other opinions just in case I'm wrong. Pretty good though, and I would like to hear more when you do it. |

It does sound remarkably close to the video, just a little higher pitched as Tre said. But it certainly is good nonetheless! Can't wait to get more ![]() And don't worry about the late reply, I'm just glad you're going to help us out with this!

I was pretty confident that the tone was higher for the sample... but I like it anyway. Glad to know my ears didn't betray me. And DJ, I am glad you're working on this, it's appreciated. Good luck on it! |
