I know this does not totally relate to Zelda, but I did not know whether to place it in the Generic forums, or here, and I thought here would be a better place, as it DOES relate to Zelda... somewhat. The parellels I see to Zelda are as follows: Zelda could be a Sailor Senshi, since she IS a princess with magical powers, and the four female sages could be Senshi too. Link could be a counterpart to Tuxedo Kamen, and his guardians be the four masks he aqquired during the events of MM. And the two male sages could be backups to Link's guardians. And who would be Zelda's guardians? Why Marin and Rosa, of course! I know that sounds crazy, because you all believe the Links and Zeldas from all different from each other, but I was just supposing! And certain villians are similiar as well, such as: Death Phantom, and the Ayakashi/Weird Sisters=Phantom Ganon, and the Teresa/Poe Sisters. And Twinrova shares some powers with the final member(s) of the Witches 5: Cyprine/Ptiol, such as the opposite power of fusion/self-splitting. And they have (I am pretty sure this is anime only) those staffs that shoot those blue and red magical attacks. I am pretty sure neither Takeuchi Naoko or Miyamoto Shigeru intended this. What do you guys think? |

Thanks, Con! I have to say that I of some things in the manga, but there are far many more things in the anime that I am annoyed with. Such as making Mamorou a complete jerk, or dropping his incantation attack. >( However the anime DID have a FEW good plot elements, such as cutting down on the brainwashing! I far prefer the original manga, though.

Sailor Moon never catched me, but I guess you find few people who are (BS) Zelda fans and SM fans at this forum... I suggest you try at a SM fan forum, there should be more SM fans who are at the same time zelda fans than way round. As for your theories... I think all fantasy affect each other. Take Link e.g. - he is a "japanese invention" but there are obvious parallels to lord of the ring. Link looks elvish and there are maybe even parallels between Ganon and Sauron... also both, the novel and Zelda play parallel to middle age europe (castles, life style, cloth...). Myamoto even travelled to Würzburg, Germany to take pictures of the castle which was model for the cathedral of time or hyrule castle in OoT. I'd say all modern fantasy is inspired by the novel of J.R.R. Tolkien. |

You forget the most obvious parallel: the coveted One Ring and the Triforce (or the various rings and Triforce shards, whichever you like better ;)) (...yay, thread hijacking!) |

*lol* what else could we do with this topic? I watched (when it was much) 3 episodes SM - and that was 10 years ago... guess you guys have even less expierience ![]() Oh, and yes, that's very correct with the Triforce and Saurons ring. Guess without LotR we'd not have Zelda at all. At least not in its fantastic glamour. |

The only thing that Sailor Moon and Zelda have in common is "Rule 34"... and I'm not explaining any further than that. |

Doesn't rule 34 only apply to not especially popular things? I mean, for franshises as famous as those, it's no surprise they get that treatment, with no need to invoke rule 34. I think. |

You might have a point there... but I really don't want to delve too much further into it. Instead, I'll throw in the "They also have yaøi and transgender fanfictions in common" card and run away. |

I forgot to mention that I think three of the "Outer Senshi" have counterparts in the Zelda universe as well: the three Oracles! And the Rod of Seasons, the Harp of Ages, and the book that Farore holds (possibly a version of the Book of Mudora) could all be Talismans. Of course, there IS a flaw in that logic, namely: who would be the equivalent of Saturn? Well, my answer to that is... Maple! And the four female sages could be Zelda's guardians as well, with Impa as their leader, seeing as she's the bodyguard of Zelda, and is the closest to her! |

Damn, you're as bad as ME now, Pic... I pulled the "let's compare ____ to ____ in the most bass-ackwards way possible!!! It'll work!!!!" crap to attribute the seven deadly sins to the "Band of Seven" of Inuyasha, based on the sin they most seem to embody... kind of in the same manner that the homunculi of FMA are the embodiment of their names. But a guy has to have fun somehow... continue on.

You guys know the backstory for Volvagia in the OOT manga, right? Well, I found a way to combine it with the story in the game, using Sailor Moon: Valoo is Link's friend, and Volvagia is his evil counterpart like the Bagu Tree is to the Deku Tree, and Volvagia has the same backstory as in the game. Ganondorf finds Valoo, and summons the spirit of Volvagia to take possession of Valoo's body. The Sailor Senshi, who can travel through space and time, arrive on the scene just in time, and Sailor Moon uses her all-purpose move, "Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss" to rid Valoo's body of Volvagia. Ganondorf revives Volvagia's body, and Darunia throws Link the Megaton Hammer, used to slay Volvagia, long ago, and Link destroys Volvagia. Pretty neat story, huh! And also, the Deku Tree Sprout is the one who tells Link about his (half-blooded) Hylian heritage, instead of Rauru. This also makes room for TWW and the Split Timeline!

"Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss" invalidates your post right there. All your internet are now belong to me. Also fail hard for these rules of the internet being in effect: Rule 11: All your carefully picked arguments can easily be ignored. Rule 15: The harder you try the harder you will fail. Rule 20: Nothing is to be taken seriously. and lastly Rule 32: You must have pictrues to prove your statement. |
