Gladly un-derailed.
I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.

First video is a BS Tantei Club video, the last three are all from BS F-Zero Queen League. Pretty cool stuff.

The BS Tantei Club 1st week vids were deleted from NicnoNicoDouga for some reason, so now that little snippet's on here. If I could figure ou how to seperate all my videos into 10-minute snippets, maybe I could put up everything else.

The Queen League vids are interesting, but I'm bummed that the guy who recorded them apparently cut the "GP" portions that aren't from the bonus track, especially since it seemed like a plot was developing in them.

I'm trying to dig through my videos to see what else I got that can fit within Youtube's limits.

Am I correct in assuming these are FLV files (Flash Video) when you get your hands on them? If I recall correctly, there are programs that will turn an FLV into an AVI. Then you just use a program like VirtualDub to split it into parts, and then upload the newly split AVI files (which automatically reconvert to FLV through YouTube's uploader.

I just can't think of anything that converts FLV nicely, at the moment. Or I'd have a recommendation already.

Yeah, all the vids DLed from NicoNicoDouga are FLV. AVI conversion sounds like it'd be messy and require lots of HDD space, but it is a possibility.

Not one I'd necessarily prefer considering all the loss in quality when re-encoding back and forth... but either way..

That's a good point... all that re-encoding will eat away the quality like crazy. Unfortunately, my two programs I have for editing video files won't handle .flv files. ~_~

Can't YouTube accept .flv uploads directly?

The other alternative is to use a site such as Veoh, which converts the video to a variety of formats but also makes the unaltered original available.

Youtube can accept FLVs, but it has the same criteria it has for other videos; no more than 10 minutes long. The majority of the Satellaview videos on NicoNicoDouga are almost double that time length.

Our discussion then is how to split the videos without quality loss.

While other video sites might have more lenient rules, they are less popular than Youtube, and as I've seen with Stage6, are less likely to last.
