Hee... I just tried the code out for FQ so I can see the Secret Room... nice. Heh. I have to say I am really impressed and happy. And I like that rather than having the game showing the Magical Key in the submenu, it's just an Infinity symbol. That makes it even more of a secret for the elite players. ^_^

*hehe* so you hopefully understand my low-level joke now ^_^
Sorry for the new FQ update, but I think it is better to have the HC at a place where you directly bumble into before it is gone (like in TQ)

Well I didn't mind having to re-download the game... that's not a problem in the least! If you have another revision to make, please make sure to post it and warn me. I meant to play today, but my wrists are still in a bit of agony (my fault for trying to move a widescreen tv on my own... d'oh)... so I can't hold a joystick right now. Otherwise I'd be playing the game... I'm feeling stir-crazy bored today. >_<

For me it works as it should.
This HC should be emulator independent... I assume you either didn't search at the right place (it is in a different location than in Third Quest - in the very down-right corner at the warp location. In TQ it is in the screen with Dungeon 6); or you searched for it at the wrong time. It is only available ~after~ the first Triforce piece and ~before~ the seventh (due to the ingame time table)!

You can test it by backcheating with 7e7439fc (6 triforce pieces) and grab it. Than, to get into your game again7e7439fd (7 pieces) or 7e7439ff (8 pieces).

Thanks for playtesting! :)

I can't let the time related HC last until the end (code for the HC is 7e74bb-40). Otherwise you can't get unlimited bombs (7e74bb-80) or the bomb and shooting sword (7e74bb-08).

EDIT
You brought me to an idea. To let this never happen again, I changed the HC in Fourth Quest to appear in front of D6 instead. Now you directly bumble into it before it disappears with D7. Please download FQ again ;)

Third Quest
Fourth Quest

Thanks, because when I would go into the cave, the items would not appear, or the old man and the only text that would appear it "Tak" and then it would freeze, I tried it multiple times, too.

Another problem I found in both quests, when you are fighting Ganon, the Magic Key will float around where he is, revealing his location and thus taking the difficulty out of it.

Fucking bullshit! I knew that something like this could happen :(
I must rewrite the DMA pointers.

*Blinks* Sh*t. That's definitely a bad thing! Is this only in non-Zsnes versions?

Here's a short video I shot with my camera, sorry about the quality, the red dot is Link and you can see "Tak" I lied though the game does not freeze, the torches still move but you cannot move link.

*Snickers* Niiiiiice. Not as neat as the "Zelda is your sword!" glitch you caused though. THAT was creatively freaky! ^_^

It is in the very lower right hand corner of the map where all the peahats (sp?) are and you need the ladder to get there.

you mean those rotating things?

What do you get inside the cave?

Can you specify the coordinates with this map?

Ok, I look at it. The magic key /Ganon glitch is detected
ce/2b4f -> change ee to ec

I try to find out the other bug and upload the rom again. It'd be great if you could playtest again after this (of course you'll receive an entry in the Hall of Fame then ;) )
