Where'd that Princess go?

I don't think this can ever be achieved by squishing the music into the rom... the only solution I see, is to hack an emulator rather than the game to play separate audio files as the game runs. ...but if someone cares to prove me wrong, I'd be delighted to see that ![]() Anyway,
Posting this since it seems both of us forgot about one of the overworld theme remix. In the specific, I forgot about the one you found in Super Famicom Game Music, and you (I think) forgot about the one heard at minute 11 of week 1 (not the only occurrence, of course, but just so you know which I mean). I think this track and the intro (Walk in cave - listen to old man - get Sword) theme remix are likely to be on the same CD since the intruments used seem very similar. |

ah, dur, you're right. That one must've slipped through my ears. Along with what I already plan to do for looking, I'll take a broad look at "Zelda Overworld" theme arrangements/remixes around Google. |

Well, based on what I heard so far on the torrents, it doesn't sound like the BS-X music. Interestingly enough, though, some of the stuff sounds similar in style - electronic synths, guitars, and a hint of jazz. If for any reason we dared make homebrew/doujin "BS-X" projects, some of the doujin music would be prime candidates. That's jumping a bit far ahead though.

I'd love to make a "doujin BS Zelda II" (not as in second quest, as in BS-ified Adventure of Link) |

I don't really know if there's enough Zelda 2 remixes specifically for that, but hey, it'd still be a neat idea to hold. Sadly I've been pondering tons of "What if" scenarios for BS-X games, like, if there was a BS Nazo no Murasamejo, a BS Castlevania 3, and a few others, while listening to the various tunes. Not that I think it's possible in any immediate time frame to get this ambitious, but those would be neat ideas if we gained enough momentum for a more ambitious "BS-X Revival" project, complete with having a BS-X BIOs that can load and play a radio station of our own making. (Actually, that -would- make a rather peculiar hack - if MP3s can be done, how about, say, Shoutcast radio stations, or some other form of internet radio, streaming audio from the ROM or emulator?) |

...I'd just stick to dreaming of a BS AoL. That's ambitious enough on its own

Guys, I don't know if this'll lead anywhere, but can I ask for your help? http ://sound.jp/maruma/BSZELDAop.mp3 I found this URL amongst a set of Japanese links on a 2ch thread. Unfortunately, when I click it, I apparently get an error. Digging around similar URLs, I've come to the conclusion that it's a hotlink protection blocking me from viewing the URL. (Another set of MP3s on a similar URL wouldn't me access them -until- I found the, um, actual site. Unfortunately, in this case, I'm having problems with that.) Can anyone help me try to access this and see the contents? The name of the file alone is a major tease. |

I get an error too... and the page it loads seems to report the one from which you come, so I've set your post up to not direct link. But what is it supposed to be? |

I found it in this 2ch link: http://game.2ch.net/retro/kako/1001/10014/1001416564.html I can't read the text, of course, and the translation from Google is tripe and actually -cuts off-, but I have my faith. |

Do you know how old that stuff is? It's from 2001/2002! I think that person's stuff on sound.jp's just vanished since then. Edit-OK, it may be a partial hotlink problem, since I was only able to listen to a mp3 from someone else on the site when I followed a link from their page. |

Ah, muh. I twiddled around with Greasemonkey until I could get the site's index.html to pop up the link. Alas, it just spat at me a -real- 404 error page. (Dangit, they could've tried that one -BEFORE- they just tried to talk to me about the illegalities of hotlinking. >: ( ) On that note, though, I have tried Google Translating some site portions. Here's a piece that makes me wonder... namely, post 434 and it's reply, post 441. ...! ! 441 Name: NAME OVER publication date: 02/07/02 00:48 434 Orchestra arrangements are basically soundtrack "Nintendo game music" is first appearance. However this outstanding sound many more will Kiyoshi Kobayashi's narration is worth just listen? Certainly soundtrack version of the medley was the background music ..." Can anyone verify if there's any significance in this dialog? It seems like a bit of a soundtrack discussion. I'm hoping it's a clue. ![]() |

Ah, so you hope to get data on the music that may help you determine what albums contained the remaining tracks? Good thinking... I'll try to get a friend of mine to help you with that text. |

Muh. I double-checked the videos one more time and it seems that a Dungeon Theme arrangement also slipped under my ears before. Dangit, yet another song to find. Oddly enough, though, it feels like the Theme/Overworld/Dungeon arrangements should be in the same location... (EDIT: Hmm... http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?t=49287 If that's all the soundtracks they can find, we might be in trouble. On the other hand, they're missing some things that seem to have been uploaded into Galbadia by this point... I have a forum account there, but I've never used it to post... I'm wondering whether I should press them on this though.) |

http://bsx.seesaa.net/article/47841257.html Funky. These are all the soundtracks I recently checked out, aren't they? ...... ppllleasse have more than one paggeeeee. (EDIT: ON the note of that site though, there seems to be a lot of writing about some of the games. But.... http://bsx.seesaa.net/article/55236646.html I hear quite a bit about this WinJ, but it seems to be a Windows application? How does it relate to Satellaview?) Tossing in another edit, to find as many Japanese "CD Listings" as I can. http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~db8y-kmr/pv/cdlist_fc.html but it seems like they might not be as helpful as I'm hoping... On that note, I am finding a lot of bizarre stuff... like... charts? http://www.soumu.go.jp/joho_tsusin/policyr...atus_index.html |
