Hello everybody! I am Happy to have finally find this BS Zelda, but there is one thing that I would really like. Is there a ROM were the Original NES Zelda is mixed with the BS zelda Grafik? The is one on your Site, but it installs on my PC and it does not run, no matter what i do. So does anybody habe a .SMC of this Version, that would be very nice. Thanks

Unfortunately, we have only the zelda classic versions at http://www.bszelda.zeldalegends.net/bszeldapc.shtml#02 If it doesn't work on your pc you may ask the ZC Team: http://www.zeldaclassic.com/ |

Trying to change the maps in the current BS Zeldas to match the NES maps is an idea to consider. The complications there though involve how the BS-X maps are generally smaller than the NES maps. (The overworld is vertically cut in half, and the final dungeon is heavily truncated, for examples.) I don't think anyone has really experimented with trying to expand the maps. Could we perhaps try to put a single tile of map data "above" the mountains, and see what happens? Also, there might be a couple of BS Zelda map editing bits that haven't been smoothly documented/applied/made workable yet. (This is what is delaying the other idea of editing the Map 1 ROM data into Map 2, as Map 2 is less glitchy.) |

You can create new screens in free ROM space. You could expand the overworld and dungeons. However you will also need to know how to edit the overworld map and how it calculates where you are and such, same with the dungeons. The editor we have now can already add new rooms. But I don't think it can edit the global maps/map layouts. |

Roto's Map editor. I've messed around with it. It can change some things, notable overworld tiles and enemies, but I don't know if it can change the things important to making the NES maps. (namely, dungeon and secret locations.) And there doesn't seem to be any option for expanding the maps. I also can't figure out to "delete" objects in it. That was my first obstacle for trying to make Map 2 match Map 1's layout... although, in all fairness, the thing I was trying to delete was some triggers for playing the "Secret" sound, IIRC. Maybe I'm overblowing the problem.... On the note of the Map conversions, I kinda found it funny comparing Map 2 to Map 1 that most of the cave and dungeon locations match each other in terms of what parts of the grids they take up. |

I think this idea is quite difficult to realise... some things are still missing in the BS rom, like Gleeok and Lamnolas. Anyways, I wish you much luck
Try the very last questionmark. That's how I removed the monsters. |

Thanks for that. (As for Gleeok and Lamnolas, what are those sprites currently on the site? They definately aren't the original NES ones...) |

You mean those in the walkthrough? They are polished up ones... Vel made them http://www.kenoshaonline.com/bszelda.htm and http://www.kenoshaonline.com/bszldfak.htm Actually, did anybody play zelda classic (http://www.bszelda.zeldalegends.net/zips/bs1stquest.zip)? I'd like to know if Gleeok and Lamnolas are part of 1st quest in BS tiles. Edit Strange is that ZC comes with 2 (same?) versions of BS NES 1st quest of you install it: bs1st.qst example_bs1st.qst Both versions are the same in size (202 kb) Our version has only 136 kb. I'll ask at the ZC forum... |

You make a good point, you'd have to hack those monsters into the game. As for the ZC size of the quests, it is because they are different quest file versions. Never versions of the QST format take MUCH more space. |

Hey, guys. Just tossing some ideas into the pot, in the off chance that anyone wants to experiement with them. First off, I found some strange tool called "FC2SMC", which describes itself as a "FC Emulator for SFC". I honestly don't know mucuh about it, but it comes with some ".FC" files which are apparently used to turn a .NES rom into a .SMC. It's a very peculiar thing. Sadly, it does not come with a ".FC" for Zelda... but I was still wondering about the possibility, regardless. It also made me wonder about "Wrecking Crew 98". This game was a VS. Puzzle spinoff of the original Wrecking Crew - but you also had the option to play the original Wrecking Crew, with seemingly every detail down to the NES synth accurately produced. I wondered, was this a port, or emulation? has anyone tried to fiddle with it? Of course, those are probably even more difficult than just hacking the maps we have, and wouldn't give us 16-bit graphical goodness... but it was something I thought to bring up, regardless. |

Ah, that's too bad. It would have been interesting to try and increase the shading and coloring of NES games like AoL. |

Yeah, it kinda stinks... but I did wonder if there was a way to produce .FC files. If there is, Zelda and Zelda 2 would be my picks ginuea pig-out on. Then I could try a header hack on them to see if they can boot through the BS-X Bios, for double the fun. |

I'm in FULL AGREEMENT!!!! I would also like to see a revamped storyline, and a town for Impa!!!!EDIT: I would love to see the Seven Sages from OOT be the replacements for the Wise Men from AOL, and there be an actual Sage named "Kasuto", plus all of the races being featured in the towns!!!! That would be AWESOME!!!! |

Woah, there Pic... kind of jumping the shark there a bit, don't you think? How did you go from: "Lets upconvert from the 8-bit graphics to the 16-bit engine of the SNES" to: "w00t lets haxx0rs AoL to be a fake OoT!!!11one!!!11 LOL!"? Sometimes your random post jumps make my brain hurt. |
