I was wondering if anyone knew of a good Cell Phone emulator for playing games on your PC? mpowerplayer's good, but it doesn't run very many modern (especially not midp 2) games. Thanks for your time! |

I've never even heard of this mpowerplayer. I think you're ahead of us there. I guess I would like to see how well some games made the port to cell phones with my own eyes... most didn't turn out that good though. Even visual novels like Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney seem to lose some of their little touches on a cell phone... and Castlevania reallly got the shaft. |

Really, the reason Cell Phone emulation is interesting is not because Cell Phones are any good as portable gaming platforms. It's just that Square-Enix and Capcom seem to be putting all their "nerd-valued" games as Cell Phone properties. ... which actually doesn't make a dang lick of sense! Aw, well. |

And I've just learned how to use midp2exe! So mpowerplayer is a bit nicer (in my opinion), but midp2exe's much more compatible. You need to download the program and the .dll into the same directory. Then create a shortcut of mid2exe.exe and click on it's properties (the shortcut, I mean). Then where it says "target" add "-jar [name].jar -out [name].exe" to the end of it. (In example, something like: "D:\Midp2Exe.exe -jar zelda.jar -out zelda.exe") Then double click the shortcut. And it'll create the exe. |

i would like to know as well. there are some cell phone games out there i would love to try. like for example Oneechanbara Mobile if anyone is familiar with Oneechanbara series which got it's start on PS2 in japan via the Simple Series of games and then got a new game on xbox 360. problem i have other than a decent emulator would be finding roms of these games or w/e they are called....i recall them being called something different....just dont know the name at the moment. |

Mobile games will be called J2ME, Brew, and possibly Java or JAR. It's unlikely they would be called ROMs. I tried Midp2Exe.exe but the only game I tried it with (Need for Speed: ProStreet) didn't compile correctly and throws up an error when I try to run it. Mpowerplayer is good but it seems to quit after you play for a mere few minutes. I guess it's so you'll buy the games or something... like I'm going to do that. *Garrett 's cellphone can only run Snake  |

Garrett. Download the mpowerplayer SDK and you can run any of your own JAR games on your comp. without an intarweb connection. |

Ah, an SDK! Unfortunately it throws up the same error as the other program. I guess it could be a bad dump or something... I'm not interested enough in this particular game to work it out though. |
