Hello, I am desperately looking for a person who speaks both Japanese and English. My project is to translate BS Zelda videos and add the translation into the rom. I made a patch to display text instead of waitsigns in BSZelda: Waitsigns example: http://www.bszelda.zeldalegends.net/bs1pics/signspatch.gif Translation example: http://kiddocabbusses.tryhappy.net/nothing...elda_map1.0.PNG The problem that I have is that I only have translations for the first week of BSZelda and miss week 2-4. Anybody who is interested and able to understand spoken japanese, please help me! The videos can be found here (to log in at nicovideo.jp, use username: cody24@gmx.de Password bszelda1: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm159850 Week 1 Part 1/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm159930 Week 1 Part 2/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm159969 Week 1 Part 3/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm160287 Week 2 Part 1/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm160356 Week 2 Part 2/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm160393 Week 2 Part 3/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm162278 Week 3 Part 1/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm162409 Week 3 Part 2/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm162523 Week 3 Part 3/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm162984 Week 4 Part 1/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm163035 Week 4 Part 2/3 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm163102 Week 4 Part 3/3 Whenever there's a waitsign occuring (like in the waitsign example above) I'd need the spoken text in English. In the week 2 1st video there's a waiting sign e.g. at 3:05 (or 2:09 ingame time). If it isn't too much work also a full video translation would be nifty ![]() Results can be sent to my mail address (con.s@gmx.de) or at this project topic Here are the times listed when a waitsign occurs, with the effect the translation should describe... Week 1, and the first 2 waitsigns of week 2 are translated yet, but a better translation (especially of the wait sign at 0:45 would be great!) week 1 0:10 The sword shoots even if your hearts are not all filled 0:20 A Heart Container is available in front of level 6 0:30 Fairy Pond empty 0:35 All enemies give Fairies or Blue Rupies 0:40 Fairy again in Pond. No more guaranteed Fairies and Blue Rupies 0:45 Unlimited Bombs 0:53 No more Unlimited Bombs week 2 1:09 Increased likelihood to gain many rupees by defeating monsters 1:20 Prices halved in shops 1:30 You get the Red Candle 1:40 The Lost Woods' magic disappears 1:45 The Tornadoes disappear. Go for the White Sword 1:50 a whistle is heard upon entering overworld screens with a secret week 3 2:10 A Street Vendor sells Blue Medicine for 10 rupees before Level 5 2:20 Unlimited Bombs 2:30 The falling rocks stop coming 2:32 You have all Heart Containers 2:35 The Tile that opens Level 6 appears 2:45 You get the Mighty Boomerang 2:50 First sunset (darknuts in Overworld, decreased amount of monsters in Dungeons), the falling rocks come back week 4 3:10 Shop prices halved 3:15 All Red Bubbles are turned into harmless Blue Bubbles (I think you have translated this one yet a while ago@) 3:26 The Red Ring and Magic Sword are now available 3:35 Red Ring and Magic Sword gone; a whistle is heard upon entering overworld screens with a secret 3:40 The sword shoots even with hearts not filled, Unlimited Bombs and Mighty Boomerang 3:45 Second sunset (darknuts in Overworld, decreased amount of monsters in Dungeons), Ganon is ready for the final battle Many thanks for any help!!! ![]() Con |

Nice patch here Con! ![]() Note that a full translation of these videos (not just the waitsigns) would also allow to recreate a fully-translated talkie high-quality remastered soundtrack for the original BS Zelda just like the original broadcast, similar to what I'm currently doing for Ancient Stones Tablets.

That would be really more than just awesome But for now, for me would be enough to get proper translations of the waitsigns to finish my patch

I think Id' still also like translations of the dialog that comes -between- the wait signs. Some of these may either have good gameplay hints, or be plot-relevant. |

If we could get some fansubbers' attention, I would probably request some fan-softsubbing over all the Satellaview videos I've collected up to this point. |

I don't manage to see the videos personally. There are only some japanese texts on black background screen and I don't think it's a part of the videos. Someone have them in another format ? (.avi or other) or on a classic streaming site ? (like youtube or other). Wanted to see if it was easy to translate or not. |

Great that you are willing to help us and welcome onboard That's a strange problem you report. The japanese text on black screen probably are comments. You can switch them off in the menu below the screen. I wonder why you cannot see the streaming video. It could either be a problem with your flash player or something was wrong when the page was loaded. Could you try with refresh/load another video? I think somebody here has saved them all to HD but the files are VERY big - means it is diffictult to send them. Also, youtube is rather inconfident for these videos since you have only 10 minutes video time there... that's the reason they are still only on Nicovideo... Makuchan once uploaded the first week on youtube. You can try if you understand anything: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJLA4R_4Lsw The first week and the first 2 wait signs of the 2nd week are translated yet... |

Con, have you also suggested Satellablog for viewing the videos? there's a reason I went with a more primitive FLV player actually - those genearally have higher compatibility with browsers. I could also suggest downloading the FLVs directly - the FLVs from NcioNico are the highest-quality ones I personally have. If you need them to be converted to another format, I could do that as well. |

I looked the youtube link you posted and I understand 90% of it (there are a few things covered by the music) but I could probably get a friend to help with those problematic sentences. The beginning is :
Then, to summary, they start talking about the donjons (the last donjon which the triforce is needed to enter in it, that there are two donjons in this part and that you'll find the first one very fast, that the others ones are hidden in some places). Then, they say that wherever you are (earth or donjon, so "world map or donjon"), monsters of the evil king will aim at you. That where I stopped to look at it for the moment. First, I can always make the wait sign, then see if I can get a complete translation of the whole dialogs, and if there are any problems, to leave some blanks for the few things I can't hear. How do you download the .flv directly from Nicovideo? Looking at the source of the page and searching for the url of the .flv file? (And sorry if sometimes my english isn't perfect, I'm french). |
