I thought I read you wanted another translation even if the firsts one was done (probably read an old post).

I think you meant the translation of week 1, WS6:
Now, I see a strange scene. A monster, a rock, a broken down wall, smoke and figure of a person walking. That was not my power. Perhaps the same power of the stars that brought you here has given this to me. Let me hand this down to you.
We weren't sure if the "not my power" and "power of the star" refers to the vision or the bomb power you received after this sign.

But since we have a similar wait sign and effect in week 3, sign 2:...
Once again a terrible scene has appeared before my eyes.
It is the shape of one who destroys monsters, walls, and ? in a puff of smoke.
I can strongly feel the power of your guiding star once more.
I will channel this power through my body and deliver it to you.

...I guess that clearly the bomb power comes from the guiding star and not the visions (which are the old man's power anyway) and is thus referred to in week1 sign.

I will only do the missing ones s.

Great :) I almost can't wait to finish this patch! I made it in May yet, but due to the lack of a translator I wasn't able to work further on it ^_^

I looked entirely the first video of the week 2 and I only saw two signs.

I didn't looked the next one yet (will do it today) but someone can confirm me I didn't missed any signs ?

Would seems logic as 6 signs / 3 videos give 2 signs/video but I just want to be sure.

By the way, I just found out this image : http://z9.invisionfree.com/bszelda/index.p...post&id=1373425

And wow, it look nice!

I don't think the wait signs are scattered that cleanly. If it helps, you can check out the walksthroughs (Although I forget if they document which TREs are preceded by wait signs.)

Good luck with the translating. It's great to see progress.

Signs or not, it would still be good to have a translation of all the voice acting in the game...

Week 2 Sign 3 (Red Candle)

儂/欲しいに語りかけてくる者がいる
=> There will be some people who will want to talk to you.

どうやら魔王の手下から身を隠している者からのようだ
=> It seems the subordinates of the evil king likes to hide themselves from the other peoples.

お前の力に成たいと言っている者がいる
=> There will be some peoples who will say they want to become your strength.

予測に儂の力を送り込むと使用だが、彼ら全てが見方と言う訳ではない
=> I can predict you'll accept and use my power, but all of them won't be allies.

Strange text as it said nothing about the candle lol (except probably the line 2, about the "hide" but it could also mean they try to act as good people on purpose if we read the last line).

The "all of them" don't refer, of course, to the powers of the old man. It refer to the peoples he's talking before. The "all" of them also seems to imply some of them will be allies, and some others won't.

Maybe it's a metaphor about the ennemis and the red candle, which you can use to reveal them (or maybe there is some trick the red candle can only reveal), except that, don't really know.

This one stay a bit weird, and is maybe probably done "weird" on purpose, compared to the first ones.

I'm not sure the first word is "hoshii ni" or "washi ni" but it don't change the translation much (but I think it's the first one and I translated as if it was the first one, seems to fit better with the next lines). Which make me doubt was the link you posted before with some japanese lines. The other choice would be "There are some peoples who I talked with" which don't really fit with the next lines.

It can probably be written better, but this thing depend of someone who have proper english skills.

I only saw one sign in this video, so if someone can also confirm in this one that there is only one (I used the "fast-forward option" to read the video faster)

If yes, will look the last video of the week 2 soon.

You may be doing easier when you look at the time in the video screen (below the amount of heart containers. Compare this time with the bottom text of my very first post here (I listed the exact time with effect when a wait sign occurs) :)

Thanks ;) This is the outcome patch ^_^

I will think over your translation, what it could mean. Really weird O_o Thanks a lot in any case

That clearly refers to the old men/moblins hiding below bushes. You have to burn down the bushes to get heart containers, rupees... and a red candle is really helpful to discover all secrets in a screen (rather than a blue candle).

どうやら魔王の手下から身を隠している者からのようだ

Dungeon 4 has many dark screens. Those can be lit by a candle.

Quote:

お前の力に成たいと言っている者がいる
=> There will be some peoples who will say they want to become your strength.

I think he just praises the new wonderful power he's going to give you and which helps to find the old men/light up dark screens (all are envious).

Quote:

\測に儂の力を送り込むと使用だが、彼ら全てが見方と言う訳ではない

Here I dunno. Maybe he just says to be careful because you can burn yourself on the flames. -> a part of this (great) power is also dangerous.

I think we'll have to make a senseful english phrase out of this ^_^' :link:

Maybe something like:

There are people hiding, but they want to talk to you. Also servants of the Evil King (capital letters?) conceal themselves in the dark. My new power will help you and everybody wants to become so strong as with the power I give to you now. I predict you will accept it, but be careful, because you can also get hurt by this power.
This is of course only a suggestion...

Also GlitterBerri used in some cases other kanji signs. Maybe a comparison between your kanji and his may help

A possible guess could be that some people will want to help you build up your strenght (either by donating rupees, heart containers, selling potions), and that some others will not be allies because they'll charge you for the door repairs.

My take:
There are people hiding who might with to help and talk to you. Also servants of the Evil King conceal themselves in the dark. My new power will help you find them so you can build up your strenght. I predict you will accept it, but be careful, there are also some who are not your allies.

I don't think. "Omae no chikara ni naritai" is without a doubt "want to become your strength", less litteral, it would be "want to help you/want to lend you their power" if you prefer.

The "Karera" imply without a doubt he's talking of some persons ("Kare" would be "He", "Karera" would be "They") and not of some powers so it would refer, I think, to the ones he's saying before that likes to hide themselves.

I also thought about this possibility, but there is no door charge in this area. Everybody who is hidden helps you. That's why I think he refers to the power, and means that the power can hurt you as well (that the dungeon monsters aren't your ally is well known I guess :P )

Urgh... then there's no other way then make a free translation here. It is difficult for the players to hear first of hidden good people, then bad dungeon monsters, then again good people... @_@

So far I really like Duke's suggestion. Building up strength can be done by both finding the hidden people and by finding monsters in the darkness. I am only not satisfied with the part, marked in red:

There are people hiding, they want to talk to you and might help. Also servants of the Evil King conceal themselves in the dark. My new power will help you find them so you can build up your strenght. I predict you will accept it, but be careful, there are also some who are not your allies.
As said, there are no charges (all persons you find with the flame help you) and that monsters are no allies is commonly known.
So I think, despite the "correct translation" it makes more sense if we go for the power reference for the sake of the "correct playing" :) :
I predict you will accept it, but be careful, because you can also get hurt by this power.

I thought about that, but just because they didn't put any "door chargers" under trees that you can burn, doesn't mean the advice isn't a sound one.

Whether they hide under a tree or in a cave, it's still hidden people that will not be kind to you.

But even then... the first door repair chargers, you encounter are one week later. Way too late for this waitsign (I don't think any original broadcast player would have remineded this for one week), it has nothing to do with the flame you get (has thus nothing to do with this wait sign), and is thus confusing for the player... I think.

I don't know... even in darkened rooms, you can still SEE the enemies lurking in the dungeons... but Conn's right too... you don't encounter "Pay me for the door repair!" punks until the next week, and that's in the caves.

I haven't a clue on a better translation, though... at least, not at this time.
I'm officially retired from beta testing, and resign my duties to those who have the time to do it.
