That's what I've been doing... but since I never say anything anymore, I thought I should interject a little bit. |

Contrary to the some previous signs, it's sure this one is really weird. It's maybe not related to something in particular. I gave you the litteral translation, now you need to get a good styled text in english, even if it differ from the translation, I don't think it's a problem as the sign don't give any advice in fact. I'll look to the next soon, hoping the next one isn't as weird as this one lol. |

Great, the next wait signs are: 1:40 The Lost Woods' magic disappears 1:45 The Tornadoes disappear. Go for the White Sword 1:50 a whistle is heard upon entering overworld screens with a secret Kanji we already have (maybe it is faster for you) 1:40 お前はゆけどもゆけどもゆけられない森を見た事もあるか。 1:45 or 1:50 (one of them is missing) I'd still suggest this solution for 1:30 due to the reasons I already mentioned: There are people hiding. They want to talk to you and might help. Also servants of the Evil King conceal themselves in the dark. My new power will help you to find them, so you can build up your strenght. I predict you will accept it, but be careful, because you can also get hurt by this power. I will upload a new patch as soon I have week 2 completed. Week 3 pretty much seems to be includeable as it is... except the wait sign at 2:50 |

How about ending the line with a "use it carefully" rather than go into detail about getting hurt? That seems less distant from the original. Anyway, I asked Glitter Berri to have a look at this part and tell us what she thinks of it. |

I think I'll just take the message as being of the plain value that all the characters you find hidden in bushes are Moblins, and therefore the Old Man inherently does not trust them, even if, indeed, his statement about "Bad people" does not end up really applying until, ironically, other old men come up. There do seem to be some moments where the Old Man seems to talk subjectively rather than giving an obvious game hint, after all - wouldn't be too unfeasible for something he says to be wrong, especially if he forewards it with "You're gonna use this power anyway" - essentially saying that even if the old man's right, you're still gonna have to encounter said people. |

Hmm... all moblins will help you out with free rupees (so you can buy the blue ring)... then, there is one old man with a heart container and a medicine woman (who ~might~ be of help). I think it is just confusing and incorrect if we include "not all are your allies"... so either we add "hurt by this power" cause you can get hurt when touching the flames, or follow Duke's suggestion and just include the warning "be careful" without anything else. Let's see what Glitterberry says :))) |

Next sign (first sign of the BSZelda1-2-3.flv video) : ------------------------------------------------------ お前は行けども行けども抜けられない森を見たことがあるか => Did you already see the insurmontable forest ? (litteraly, he's saying "the forest that you can't leave wherever you go". I think it's refering to the forest you need to go four screen upper in Zelda 1 to find a dungeon) 森の悪霊おいあらい術を使ってみよう => I threw/used a spell on the evil spirits of this forest. With this, you'll be able to coming and going freely of this strange forest. (litteraly, he's saying "mayoi no mori", "the forest of confusion", literraly "mayoi" means "confused/disconcert", so a forest which confuse the player who don't know where to go in it, and end by getting lost in it) Luckily, this sign wasn't weird as the previous one. Next sign (sign 2 of the BSZelda1-2-3.flv video) : -------------------------------------------------- やっと、やっとだ => At last, finally. 漸く砂漠の嵐押さえる事に成功した => I finally managed to help you/to let you (to) not be stopped/repressed anymore by the storm of the desert. これで砂漠は危険のない世界になるだはずだ => Now, the desert should have become a land without danger. <= (probably need to be modified, because "without danger" is a bit weird, even if it's the translation, because there should always be, at least, some ennemis in it. Next sign (sign 3 of the BSZelda1-2-3.flv video) : -------------------------------------------------- 彼らを今でも儂に語りかけてくる => They are still talking to me. 彼らはお前に力を貸そうと言っている => They are saying they want me to lend you my power (or "to help you with my power"). 少し、工夫をしてみよう => For a little while, I'll use a scheme/device. <= (Not sure for this one (I only see this for "Kufuu"), need to be check with the actual effect) => (With that), you'll be able to know their locations. And I think it's the last of the video and of the week 2 ? (Didn't saw others ones). If yes, I'll look at the next ones soon (week 3). Feel free to ask if you want any further explanations about the lines or if you don't understand some parts of my "engrish". |

Fantastic!!!   I have listed all wait signs that we have now at http://z9.invisionfree.com/bszelda/index.p...opic=802&st=60& for the sake of consideration. As soon all go conform with my suggestions there I'll include them into the rom Week 3 is pretty much completed (though it would be great if you can check them for completeness/correctness). Only the ~last~ wait sign at 2:50 (when it's getting dark must be translated (as far I think)

Let's go for the week 3 I'll edit my post after the watching. Edit 1 : --------
This one is okay for me (there is an useless "の" on the line four but it change nothing in the translation).
The missing word should be "岩" (iwa) which means "rock/crag". The rest of the translation is okay for me, except there is an error in one kanji of the line two ("見" instead of "目" but it's not very important, because he again translated it right (eyes), so it's probably just a typo).
This one is also okay for me. I will edit my post again with the last ones once I'll have finished my watching. |

I can't edit my previous post anymore, the forum has probably a limit for this function so here's a new post with the end of the translation checks (for the one already translated) and translations for the missing/incomplete ones.
Here's mine for this one : 勇者よ。 - Hero. - I finally learned a new truth. - I was able to touch a spring of life flowing on the earth. - Hohohohoho. - Nanto subarashii (litteraly, "nanto" is used for sentences like "Nanto subarashii kanjou", "What a wonderful emotion", the "What a" in this sentence is the "Nanto". "Subarashii" is "Wonderful/Splendid/Magnificent" so I would say something like "It was wonderful/What a wonderful feeling", etc...) - I'll offer this power of the earth to you. - However, it won't last long. - Try to keep this (amount of) time for challenging a dungeon. (but "keep" will probably need to be modified for the context, because I don't think you can decide when the "full heart" is beginning? So, if it's that, I would say "Try to use" instead of "Try to keep")
First line is okay for me. Here's mine for second and third lines : - We can see the water of the sea ebbeding and the entrance of the dungeon appearing. - And with the sound of the (sea) waves, we can hear the pleasant timbre/tone... (he do not precise the timbre/tone of "what", but from the words he's using, it would mean a sound like the one of a musical instrument).
Here's mine : - It looks like you manage to reach a high strength/power, right, Hero ?. - You'll maybe be able to use/master it with your actual strength. - Take it.
- W-What does that mean...? - The end of the world is arrived/is happening? - It seems some monsters who were living in the dungeons has now made their appearence in the world (it would mean "in the main map", so at the exterior of the dungeons"). - Hero, you have to hurry! - Or else, (the whole span of ) Hyrule may/might fall in the evil king's hands. (or "evil lord" or whatever, "ganon"). Week 3 is now complete. Feel free to ask if there is something you want to know. Should I also check/complete the week 4, or you already have it done? By the way, I would be interested to see a french version of your patch if you have nothing against it (In french, we only have the old roto patch), once you'll have a final version of it with all the weeks done and reinserted because your work is nice ! |

So far those are pretty accurate sounding translations for what happens in the game. And while I can't speak for Conn or Serkol, I think it's a good idea to check week four also. If you have time for it. |
