Korean Royals Still Around!! What do you guys think?! I think we SHOULD restore them, because if they were restored, not only would it do justice for all of their suffering, but it probably would help re-unite the country!! I'm just >( about what happened to them, although I DON'T BLAME THE JAPANESE EMPERORS!! What do you guys think... And if the Japanese can hold on to their monarchy, which they SHOULD, why not the Koreans, and don't try to use the Chinese as an example, because they were overthrown by THEIR OWN PEOPLE!! EDIT: Just to clarify, I DID get Serkol's permission on this!!

Oh just great, I guess Duke was right about no-one responding Although I'm not TOO CONCERNED about this, it's just that I wanted to get a few more votes and/or replies, as this IS a VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE, and one I CARE ABOUT DEEPLY!!And no-one seemed to mind when I posted a topic about the Japanese Emperor, and they made some replies, so I thought I'd get AT LEAST SOME VOTES AND/OR REPLIES... Ah well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see... Am I going to be the only one posting here? That would get very BORING... ... ... ... EDIT: @Serkol: I followed your advice in not getting TOO UPSET!! DOUBLE EDIT: I know it may not SEEM like it, but I AM trying to be patient, it's just very hard on the internet, although it's easier when I'm off-line... *Sighs and has a REALLY BORING conversation...* |

Now, the problem is that people here are hardly interested in asian politics. Also you didn't clarify north/south korea. Guess you mean south, cause north korea is kommunistic. I did not even know that south korea has no monarchy. If you start a topic concerning free tibet, people (especially me) may discuss. |

I actually suggested him to go with this instead of a Tibet topic because I'm afraid that could get people a little too worked up (just to clarify, I didn't suggest him the idea, only which of the two to pick). Also, histerical lol about absolute prediction accuracy

I actually suggested to Serkol that I could create a Tibet topic, but as he clarified, he suggested not to... Do you, (Con), think I SHOULD?! If you think so I will!! And North Korea MAY PRETEND to be Marxist, but it is FAR FROM A NORMAL MARXIST STATE, as it allows some form(s) of RELIGION!! @_@ Plus, I read somewhere that Kim il-Sung was influenced by State Shinto, which in turn was influenced by "State CHRISTIANITY", and that NK is actually more MONARCHICAL IN PRACTICE!! Makes sense... |

Now... I am buddhist (more or less) even when baptized christian. If I look at all those different destinies people have (some have everything, others not even food), and if I presuppose a divine order in our universe (which is e.g. manifested in science, mathematics, physics, biology etc.) there is no other explanation than karma and reincarnation. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense for me. |

Your explanation is a bit ambiguous. Are you saying you were baptised as a Christian but have now left the church to become a sort of Buddhist, or that you adhere to both faiths in some manner? As for the topic, it's a difficult situation; for a deposed monarchy, the easiest way is probably to have the ruler return in a sort of token position like how England's monarchy works; the Queen has no real power but is greatly respected and looked up to with pride as a sort of living symbol of the nation's grand history. |

You know, until now I hadn't even realized how Tuf has set things so that the topic's title is "Should the Korean Monarchy be restored?!" and the poll question as "Did you guys know they were still around?!" Seeing as the first option doesn't really answer that question, and the second oneseems to say we should not know about about (ever), I guess undecided is the only one I could pick  |

No, I don't care much about confession. It's just that I think that buddhism faith in reincarnation and karma is more correct than christian believe in heaven/hell. It just makes more sense to me and I also like exerted commiseration for other humans/animals rather than hypocrite charity some people in our religion do... But well, it's not the religion that makes us, but we ourselves
